4 out of 5 eggsI like iT ! PcLinuxOS_2007 friendly

Pros: Works with PcLinuxOS_2007. Just install from the live cd.
First chose Vesa at boot up. Do your thing and we have success with 1024 x 768 Vesa Standard Resolution.
Ran straight for six days running everything and only consumes about 286K. With 350K in cache.

Cons: despite the misserable support of SiS on board Video. Tried about 4 distros they all have a video issue. Unless you go console. With one gig stick installed the bios ditches you 32 Mb :-(. No Compiz Acceleration.

Other Thoughts: This thing has the capability to start from USB and Flash drive.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes What It Does

Pros: Mini ITX need I say more ?
Cheep
Takes just a little amount of AC

Cons: Would love to have 2 nics on board.
Slow by todays standards.
In My Thermal take tower the dim slot obscures air flow will tunnel.
Week support for video under Linux.

Other Thoughts: One half of project complete. Now For the Main Goodies. Newegg Here Come some More Orders :-)

4 out of 5 eggsGood for small form factor systems

Pros: Low cost, low power consumption, small form factor, and good performance. Legacy ports are handy since I needed them for my application.

Cons: Only one IDE channel, SiS chipset instead of Intel GMA.

Other Thoughts: A driver patch will get the SiS video working under Linux, but it won't support Compiz Fusion's eye candy. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate - Bang for the buck

Pros: see prior

Cons: see prior

Other Thoughts: Sorry error on earlier review, did not come with accessories, that was included in the bag for my case. The board simply came in plastic bubble wrap, nothing else.

4 out of 5 eggsBang for the Buck

Pros: For pennies, simply can't ask for more. It gets the job done. Successfully dual boots Ubuntu and XP sp2 and runs smoothly. Ran slingbox and firefox same time with no hickups (though at times the CPU load was around 80%). Now the kids have a ITX machine which I don't have to worry about all for under $200. Came with a PCI riser and adapter for a slimline drive!

Cons: Not the strongest video, documentation kinda lame (needed to do a little research), and lacks firewire hookup. At this price, didn't expect SATA, DVI etc. This is just a plain board.

Other Thoughts: It runs my OS's fine. Can't wait to explore the possibilities like shoving this small build under the car seat, hooking it up to the car's LCD (strictly for the kids in the back seat, I don't recommend driving and surfing).

5 out of 5 eggsgreat itx combo

Pros: Nice and stable. I've owned a VIA C7 mini-itx mainboard and I can say that the D201GLY is almost better than the VIA in almost every aspect. The D201GLY was $150 cheaper, never had hardware issues, ran almost 2x faster than the VIA C7, and used less power! I find it hard to understand why people still buy the VIA C3/C7 stuff when this little guy just does that much better!

Cons: If only it had sata ports. It looks like it "could" have sata ports since there are places for them on the mainboard, but no connectors :-(

5 out of 5 eggsPretty darn good

Pros: Well, to put it simply, for the price you get a really respectable piece of equipment. While it may not be full-featured, this motherboard does get the job done, and does it at a price no-one can touch.

Cons: Just like everyone else, I wish it had just one sata port...

Other Thoughts: I'm using it in a ClarkConnect box, which provides me with a samba server for windows filesharing and web, ftp, and an email server in one very easy to administer package.

This motherboard has never disappointed. In a small office setting with 8-10 users at any given time it almost never hits more than 20% load.

Fitted with 1gb ram and a 750gb hard drive.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: NONE over kill on packing no retail Box

Cons: JUNK cheap as the price don't waste your time no better than any pc chips combo I have had the misfortune to work on, I work on hundreds of PC's/servers a year, this has got to be the worsed Intel product (I) have ever seen I can't believe they would put their brand on it 2 Boards in a row would not even go past post. Come on Guys give us Intel not a wanna be!

Other Thoughts: spend the extra money unless you have a lot of time on your hands for RMA,s cheap does not always me an this will do!

3 out of 5 eggsD201GLY a PITA

Pros: Cheap, relatively powerful

Cons: Not ACPI compliant, poor Linux video support, flakey USB booting, Intel yanked Win2K drivers, probably at M$oft's request

Other Thoughts: Intel may make good processors, but their motherboards leave a lot to be desired... Better to look elsewhere...

2 out of 5 eggsVIA's PC2500 A Much Better Board

Pros: Price

Cons: Boot from a USB flash drive might work and it might not. Lots of read/write errors. Legacy serial port does not work from Windows boot disk MODE command. Pathetic support from Intel.
