Intel makes your CPU. Why not have them make your motherboard, too? The BOXDH55TC is an LGA 1156 board supporting Intel Core i7, Core i5, Core i3 and Pentium series. You can add up to 16GB of DDR3 1333/1066 memory to support the operating system.

The motherboard is designed to support the advanced features that today's power users are looking for. It has an 8 channel audio system and 3 analog audio ports that support Intel High Definition Audio. It also has 12 USB and a Gigabit Ethernet port. The new Intel H55 chipset provides full support for Intel’s 32nm Clarkdale CPUs with an integrated HD GPU.

File sizes are getting larger, especially for audio and video, so we need more secure ways to manage our data. There are 6 SATA ports, so you can hook up plenty of drives. Since you have plenty of available connectors you can use one drive for the OS and software and have extra drives for data.

  • newegg Intel Flexible Display Interface Intel H55 chipset supports both Core i7 and Core i5 CPU without GPU integrated and the latest Intel 32nm Clarkdale Core i3 and Core i5 CPU with a HD GPU so you can enjoy smooth HD movies without independent graphic card.
  • newegg HDMI Output The Intel BOXDH55TC features an HDMI output for connection to your high-definition video equipment. With the HDMI interface ensuring lossless transmission of high-quality HD video signals, play back HD contents on your computer and view them on your large HDTV set for more comfort.
  • newegg PCI Express 2.0 Interface The PCI-Express 2.0 interface provides twice the bandwidth of PCI-Express X16 to handle the data load of next-generation graphics cards while retaining compatibility with current PCI-Express cards.
  • newegg Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity The Intel BOXDH55TC features a fast Gigabit network interface for high-speed LAN connections at up to 1000Mbps data transfer rates with advanced security features to ward off malicious attacks. Gigabit LAN is ideal for supercharged seamless streaming of Internet audio and video content.
  • newegg 12 USB 2.0 ports The Intel BOXDH55TC provides up to twelve USB 2.0 ports (6 on rear panel & 6 onboard) to connect more devices without frequently plugging and unplugging.

1 out of 5 eggswow temperamental *bad* board

Pros: to add to my pablolie review... it seems to work most of the time but gets very temperamental when changing stuff, sch as when i tried to improve graphics... (read cons)

Cons: i have never owned a board that gets so terminally sick and simply refuses to get any sign of life when it feels misconfigured, which includes stuff as basic as adding a graphics card. the i5-661 begged for a graphics card update to graduate beyond wei 4.1 graphics, but it was a death battle to get the board to accept the nvidia gt440 card, latest os and bios updates notwithstanding. i regret the day i bought this board.

Other Thoughts: worst board intel ever produced, based on my experience, and based on that the last Intel mb i will buy sorry. i have never ever experienced as many startup issues... try to overclock... pull the battery to fix it... install a video card... pull the battery to try to fix it... any bios adjustment that for no reason the board declines... pull the cmos battery... and get ready to restart repeatedly for a while... what a horrible board, i regret buying it

5 out of 5 eggsStart up was great!

Pros: I installed this MOBO as a replacement for a failed boad that I could no longer get (Gigabyte H55M-UD2H). It was a bit lager, but fit my case just fine. Had no problem transfering the memory (G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM) and CPU (Intel Core i3-540 Clarkdale 3.06GHz LGA 1156) to this card. After some initial and normal set ups it just worked. I'll post back after a month or so to confirm that all is well.

Cons: None so far. Will re-post in a month or so to describe how things are going.

4 out of 5 eggsDH55TC

Pros: This is a basic sturdy board mobo, all the SATA and USB ports you could ever use, good for HTPC purposes and other basic computer use. No more ribbon cables happy happy joy-joy! Onboard Graphics is NICE! I do nonlinear editing in Sony Vegas which loads instantly, and is pretty demanding software so this is a good test for compatability. No issues, as of yet. Be sure you don't screw down on the mobo too hard when attaching it to the enclosure, and also have EXTRA standoffs so you connect ALL attachment points of the mobo, makes a HUGE difference. Windows Home Premium boots in 30 seconds or less with this board.

Cons: None as of yet. Assemble with care, putting together even a basic barebones socket 1156 system is NOT trivial.

Other Thoughts: If you are installing this board yourself to a generic enclosure, make sure you have a nice quiet place to do it in, there are many, many connections, all labeled on the mobo and usually on the enclosure, but that doesn't mean it's a piece of cake to install this. This is precision work, one accidental drop of a screwdriver where it should not land or a standoff overtightened could hose the entire board. I personally recommend you pay your local computer jockey to assemble your barebones system, with firmware upgrade as well, configure bios, test boot etc. it's $$$ money WELL spent.

3 out of 5 eggsWHY Intel WHY ?

Pros: Love the Icore Processors

Cons: Why in the world would you have 3 sockets for them and processors that some run video and some dont.

Other Thoughts: I forsee alot of returns for people assuming the processor socket they ordered will work with the motherboard they ordered thinking their onboard video will work. when the processor the ordered dont support onboard. Or vice a versa
Geez

5 out of 5 eggsgood board

Pros: Works fine. Booted right up, easy to set up bios. I built it for my wife with an i3-550. Has been on for 8 months 24/7, she runs basic programs and internet. Works for her so she doesn't mess with mine, serves it's purpose.

Cons: none. easy build.

1 out of 5 eggsBoard has quit working

Pros: Great Board when it worked

Cons: Board has quit working. Standby led on board is on but board will not startup. I have replaced the Power supply thinking there was an issue but nothing. It ran well for a month to month and a half and has left me stranded. Trying to contact intel now since Newegg does not support the board.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC Board

Pros: Great HTPC board. I'm using it with i3-540 processor/G.SKILL 4GB kit/Win 7 and it is works/looks great on my 52in TV. Intel has done a great job with this one.

- No need for video card if you are using it as a HTPC board.
- Quiet & cool
- Video quality via HDMI is excellent.
- Very stable
- Setup was easy
- Plenty of features and ports for Micro ATX motherboard
- Board configuration sheet that comes with product is better than most MB manuals out there

Cons: Minor issues:
- Beeps on startup and you can't seem to disable it
- No optical audio out.

Other Thoughts: No issues with the board. Make sure to update the BIOS, most of the issues have been ironed out by now. Pair this board with an Intel Clarkdale Core i3 or i5 and this board will handle everything HTPC should do, including Bluray.

One thing about NewEgg shipping - the 3 business day guaranteed delivery does not start from the day you place an order, but from the day the package is actually shipped, I did not know this. Placed an order Tuesday, got the package next Monday - this is just too long of a wait.
