3 out of 5 eggsSound not supported by Linux

Pros: Supports plenty of RAM. Onboard POST indicators are a major plus as is the onboard power/reset buttons.

Cons: The soundcard on this board is not supported in Linux. I am running Ubuntu 13.10 and the sound just comes up as "Dummy Output" There is also no onboard USB3 hookups for the tower, which was really my bad for not checking.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a nice board, but the soundcard issue is a real PITA.

2 out of 5 eggsWrong I/O Sheild

Pros: Nice board......great price.

Cons: Came with wrong I/O sheild...contacted Intel nearly 4 weeks ago for the correct sheild....still waiting...should have RMA's them back to Newegg while I had the chance.
Newegg removed my first review...they will probably remove this one as well.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT BOARD... BUT

Pros: The board is fast...nice to look at. East to configure and get up and running. Everything is in a good place(cable wise).

Cons: Having some serious issues with the 3.0 USB ports. they get power, but it will not read anything that is 3.0 ready. That is why it is short an Egg

Other Thoughts: Very happy with the buy.. for under 100 dollars. This the first Intel board for me. I couldn't be more delighted, because a friend of mines gave me a free i7... :-)

4 out of 5 eggsGood BIOS

Pros: Skull lights are cool, as well as the display manager for possible errors.

BIOS utility control is amazing, very easy to customize, and the "back to bios" feature is a special add-on

Cons: It seems to think I have issues where I don't, which results in the machine trying to boot several times before it get's it correctly. Annoying enough to warrant the loss of an egg

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Mobo

Pros: Absolutely everything on it is a pro. Super easy setup out of the box with zero hesitations. Beautiful layout and tons of room for X-fire video cards. The bios feature that can be used in windows to flas the bios was just the sweetest thing to be invented. but the skull with the flashing hard drive lighted eyes was the icing on the cake!

Cons: Haha not even if you were looking for one could you find one!

Other Thoughts: Great price, Super great features!

5 out of 5 eggsreliable board

Pros: Great mb. had no issues having this board for almost a year now.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I had the board for almost a year now, no issues, still works great. With that at said this board isnt made for overcloacking but i did my research before purchasing, I knew that. I was looking for reliable board and this is diffently it.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: The overall simplicity of the build. Everything worked perfect right out of the box. I love the looks and the skull is pretty cool too.

Cons: The SATA ports are kind of a pain due to there position but really not bad enough to take away an egg.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't trust good reviews

Pros: It was on sale at the time and there are a lot of good reviews... so SOMEONE likes this. Skull image and LEDs. LED operation display, LEDs showing successful operations.

It does actually run. I can boot into Windows and use the internet... same as a Pentium II.

Cons: Everything else. After a learning curve, I got the overclocking down. Every piece of hardware I have runs slower on this motherboard. SSD is fast, but is twice much faster on an ASUS board. HDD is SO slow that I was forced to get an SSD for the OS. Indexing and file transfers on the HDD (not SSD) or to any USB device are SNAIL slow (5KBs Average). Placement of the SATA connections does not allow for more than 3 of the angled Sata cables that it comes with, only one of those 3 connections are SATA3. The other 3 SATA connections must be a straight cable.

BIOS is TERRIBLE. Even Intel admitted problems with their BIOS. I have not yet seen a stable revision.

I wanted a refund but that would require sending it in and dealing with the hassle... but I can NOT be without my computer waiting for them to process anything. I work daily on this machine and would lose a lot of money.

Other Thoughts: I have the board stable enough with the SSD, but it is one of the biggest regrets of my life buying this Intel board. Stick with ASUS :( Very unhappy.

Works best with agility 3 SSD as far as Intel features go. Crucial drives are locked as well as other drives I have tried.

Only thing that could make me happy on this is a refund and a paid return slip prior to sending it back.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat motherboard

Pros: Great overall motherboard, plenty of expansion, Ease of use with bios and the intel extreme tuner utility. so far runs great. Like the skull motif in the board.

Cons: Hates having its cpu fans externally controlled and not plugged into the board. Pops the airflow message if they arent plugged in. May be just me but why is it that every fan uses a 3 prong plug when all motherboard plugs are 4 prong? Also hates having the 3 prong fans plugged in..refuses to boot if theyre installed. So fans are plugged into the cases fan controller.

Other Thoughts: consider making the board fan plugs the 3 prong plugs to accomodate most aftermarket fans or atleast put adapters with the board. otherwise good board

4 out of 5 eggsOne DoA, good now.

Pros: Nice looking board, if you like that sorta I just wanted an Intel.

Cons: First one wouldn't POST with any more than DIMM slot one populated. Code 27 (memory). Swapped memory, but it didn't help. BIOS flash didn't help either. RMA'd it and the new one works flawlessly.

SATA headers are annoyingly placed out to the side (suggest you put cables in them before installing the mobo in your case).
