2 out of 5 eggsWhy do I keep buying these

Pros: - Cheap

Cons: - Chassis Intrusion doesn't work
- Audio doesn't work on most boards
- DOA on the regular

Other Thoughts: I've ordered 25-30 of these boards in the past year and a half and have had nothing but issues. I'm normally on a tight time schedule so that's the only reason I haven't switched boards yet for my products. Once I run out of the 15 I just ordered a month ago I will be switching to Gigabyte like I was using before.

Between DOA issues, audio not working, and chassis intrusion not working on these boards it's come down to a regular relationship with newegg RMA dept. Thankfully newegg no longer has these boards.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board for the price.

Pros: Very solid board for the price. Installed it myself and everything has worked like a charm from day one. The price for the features is very solid.

Cons: Ive had issues with my computer randomly restarting from time to time, but I feel as though that is more related to my cpu overheating.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed when updating BIOS to version 43

Pros: It worked until I tried to update the BIOS to avoid issues with USB3 devices during boot.
I gave a 5 star review in 2011 for the same product.

Cons: It no longer works at all.
I did an F7 BIOS update procedure. Half the way through the procedure the computer shut down by itself and would not even POST.
I tried the BIOS recovery procedure, but it did no good.

Other Thoughts: How do I fix this issue? I bought the Intel product to have something that was stable and compatible. How do I get the computer to POST again?
This cannot be the end of this motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsto picky on memory

Pros: cheap.

Cons: this board was DOA. found out that intel does not support half sized memory in this board. It wouldn't even work with supported memory.

Other Thoughts: went for Z77bh board and memory, cpu worked in it!

5 out of 5 eggsIt's been working great.

Pros: HDMI, DisplayPort, SATA 6GBs, USB 3. Other ports too, but these are the ones I care about.

Cons: Only 1 16x PCI Express, but I would probably never use more than 1 anyway.

The other PCI Express slots are gonna be blocked by the video card. Wish they were on the left side of the board. Instead, legacy PCI slots are on the left. But, I would probably never use anything but the 1 16X PCI Express slot anyway.

Pretty much everything I use is USB or SATA.

Some of the SATA ports might be a problem if you get a 3 slot video card as the card might hit the connectors on the cable. I assume this might be resolved with different cables. Never looked into it.

Other Thoughts: I’m not sure why so many people seem to be having problems. I don’t know about XP, but Windows 7 is running fine with this thing. It has been pretty reliable. I seem to remember a crash or two early on when I was playing with drivers and stuff. But, it’s been running trouble free for over a year now.

I love HDMI. Got it going to my TV with the middle mouse button hooked up to switch between TV and my DVI monitor.

The built in video on the processor has worked well for me streaming 1080p video and for a few older games. I’ve just now ordered a GTX 660 Ti and DisplayPort monitor. We’ll see how that goes.

Anyway, this is a 5 for me, because I knew what the board had when I bought it and it fit my needs and budget perfectly.

1 out of 5 eggsIntel gives No Warranty Support?

Pros: The DZ68DB is a full-featured motherboard with SATA RAID capability. With an i3-2105 cpu and 8GB of RAM installed it should be a fast but reasonably priced system. This system functioned beautifully for 5 months.

Cons: One morning the system failed to boot. The BIOS post would not even get to the CMOS set-up screen. Called Intel and spent 2 hours on the phone before being given an RMA so that the board could be returned for repair. Got the same board back with the same problems. Unhappy with this motherboard and with customer service. If one wasn't good, the other could make up the difference. When both are bad, I take my business elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: Have been in the computer industry for 20 years as of next month. During this time I have recommended many Intel boards to my customers. If I don't get more and better help soon, I will have to rethink my opinion of Intel's quality and their willingness to support their products. So sad to see another US company falling by the wayside.

1 out of 5 eggsQuite disappointed, waste of money

Pros: Not many if it doesn't work. Seems like a nice feature rich board, too bad I couldn't get Windows to work. USB BIOS update is a nice feature. Had all the connections I wanted.

Cons: Tried to load Windows XP, got blue screen (mentioned before by other reviewers), tried updating BIOS (ver 0043), same problem. RMA'd board for a refund, not taking a chance with a replacement, shipping out today. I hate wasting time on things like this.

Other Thoughts: Decided to try Intel, thought their reputation and capability would be a plus, sadly I was let down. I was going to use this with an i5/2500 processor, if I can't get Windows to boot, it does me no good. I will be looking elsewhere for another brand. Take the other reviews to heart (I should have), the chances of this working well for you are low.

3 out of 5 eggsthird time is the charm

Pros: Great price point for a full featured, full-size mobo that is technologically up to date. The 6GB/s SATA ports, built in HDMI output, and RAID support are standout features to me. 4 DIMM slots was also sweet.

Cons: 2 out of 3 of these board sent to me were bad. The first one was blue screening like crazy when trying to install windows even after stipping down to barebones. During BIOS update the system got all the way to step 8, 52% complete and then rebooted unexpectedly, bricking the board. Recovery did not work, either, it was completely unable to post again, even after clearing CMOS. Intel's webforums show many similar issues - my advice is if you think the board needs a BIOS update, just return it and try a different board. The second board had DIMM slots 1 and 3 working OK, but if you put memory in slot 3 or 4 it refused to POST at all. Tried 4 different RAM sticks, all of which would POST in slot 1 or 3... but any combination that included slot 2 or 4 - no POST. Looks like the 3rd board is working, though.... thankfully.

3 out of 5 eggs3 out of 5 DOA

Pros: Decent boards.. the ones that weren't dead are still holding up (1month later)

Cons: I had 3 out of 5 shipped to me DOA. This is the second batch of these same boards I have ordered. It's very frustrating when you have a deadline for work and order 1 spare and come to find that you'll need two more because 3 of the boards are DEAD.

Ok I said to myself, I'll RMA these... only to have Newegg sit on them for weeks. Then shoot me an email and tell me that one of them didn't have the two SATA cables or IO plate so they were rejecting the RMA. Ok.. my fault on forgetting to put those items back in... but really Newegg? No compassion for someone you just sold 3 / 5 dead items to? How about someone who orders thousands a month from you?

Ehh... Tiger has been having better prices recently, anyways.

Other Thoughts: Board gives you what you expect, as long as it doesn't arrive dead. My advice would be to order a few extra because more than likely you will need them.
