5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for me

Pros: Love the easy to use BIOS interface. You can quickly titrate through overclock setting to find the best performance with good stability. Once you get the setting right to were you like them, you can set the BIOS for quick boot which cuts down start-up time. Also fully SLI ready. Despite the the early horror stories, my board has not given me any problems (I did update to the latest BIOS firmware right away though).

Cons: Wish it could run at PCIe 3.0 2x16 rather than 2x8. Have two GPUs, but honestly, I do not think you can even tell the difference

3 out of 5 eggsGood Board - Didn't Last

Pros: Bought this board in August 2012 and it performed quite well. Great BIOS, great ports and features.

Cons: Initial setup was a little scary. After reading some horror stories about bricked mobo's I successfully reflashed the BIOS to the current version. The case lights would mysteriously blink which required me to turn off the S3 state Indicator option to fix. About a month ago the usb ports started switching on and off. I thought it was a bad USB device, but last week the board totally failed. Electronic burning smell, the works. Replacing it with something else and hoping it didn't take any other components down with it when it failed.

Other Thoughts: If you want this board, consider buying a warranty too.

5 out of 5 eggsNot had any problems

Pros: Like a previous reviewer, I also patiently updated the bios one version at a time and since have had ZERO problems with this board running an i5-3570K, 32GB of GSKILL DDR3-1600 RAM and Win7 Pro at stock settings. Apparently a little patience pays off with bios updates with this board.

Cons: None so far. Hasn't burped, blown up or blue screened on me. Doesn't do elaborate multi-card video setups.

1 out of 5 eggsProbably faulty by design

Pros: Hard drive password working with Intel's SSD 520 encryption
Lots of USB 2.0 and 3.0
Generally very good idea but ...

Cons: I had 4 bad boards by row like below Mr. N/A. I can only confirm that all of them was 401 model, which is faulty by design. You can read that in Intel's PCN Sept. '12 but they are still selling it (legally ?) !!!

Front Panel USB 3.0 are faulty. There is a problem with power surge. Only 1 of 4 FP USB 3.0 is working properly and only in latest BIOS. It came with BIOS 0039. I have tested and upgraded to 0060, 0061, 0063 and finally 0064 BIOS. Intel don't care about that I am waiting for 5th board.

Regarding keyboard and mouse on any USB 2.0 - it is dead during POST and you cannot access BIOS. Workaround is to shut down completely. Press power button and during start fast press restart button then by F2 you can access BIOS. No restart, no normal shutdown ... Connect keyboard and mouse to USB 3.0 and it works perfectly but what the waste.

Other Thoughts: I was asking to deliver me the 500 model but without any success. I have even looked on GAL version but they have the same PCB only different accessories. I don't know what about dz77re-75k but i have RAID card on PCIe x4 and on this board is only PCIe x1. Besides PCB looks pretty the same. My drive Intel's SSD 520 is encrypted with password which can be only provided by BIOS of theirs desktop board. And that was the reason to buy Intel's products.

I cannot use the whole computer for more then 3 months and I have spent tenths of hours on testing. No help from Intel even that I have bought theirs pricey i7- i3770k, SSD 520 - 240GB not mentioned about new 32GB RAM, PS, GPU etc. They can only exchange desktop boards for the same models but you are testing everything alone. Such DIY on your own cost.

4 out of 5 eggsLiving up to my general expectations

Other Thoughts: I've heeded all the negative reviews regarding BIOS updating on this board, and I may have a suggestion. If updating the BIOS, please don't skip to the latest release. Instead, update one version at a time all the way up through the latest release. My board came with version 57, so I just patiently upgraded to 64 one version at a time, resulting in ultimate mobo stability and full function.

My System Specs:
Intel DZ77GA-70K
Core i5 3570K 4.5ghz overclocked
8GB corsair vengeance memory
MSI HD 7770 (saving $$ for a better replacement)
Intel Thermal Solution liquid cooling
Seasonic 850W PSU
2X 3.5" OCZ Vertex 2 SSD/RAID 0
Fractal Design R4

5 out of 5 eggshappy

Pros: Has everything I was looking for in a motherboard, especially dual LAN . Stable so far, no plans to overclock my 3770, so should be good for years.

Cons: Doesn't fetch beers or put empties away.

Other Thoughts: Nice board, maybe it will catch on.

1 out of 5 eggsSuper junky

Pros: 8 SATA ports, Built in WiFi, power and reset buttons on board.

Cons: 3 bad boards in a row. All 3 boards were rev 401. 402 and 500 are out so these are a little old. Came with BIOS 39 and I immediately upgraded to 64. Boards 1 & 3 started out ok and within an hour degraded to the point of not posting. They both eventually hung on POST 92 which is keyboard detection. Tried different keyboards and no keyboard with same results. All parts work fine when I swap in a known good Gigabyte board. Tried different memory & power supply, remove battery, load BIOS defaults etc. Board #2 just gave a memory error beep code right out of the box.

Other Thoughts: I've used lots of intel boards and very rarely have any problems. This model must be a lemon.
SATA ports very difficult to reach in an Antec 300 case.

2 out of 5 eggsWhat a mistake...

Pros: For what you get this motherboard is a decent value...

Cons: I had a hard time getting my ram to run at 1600 had to go to the classic non graphical bios screen to get my ram timings entered correctly. The main problem has been system stability... there isn't any. I am running a 3770K with no overclock and good cooling, the other components in my computer are rock solid, but after upgrading to this motherboard I have been getting hard locks in games all the time.

Other Thoughts: First time getting an Intel board and have to say this was a mistake. If you don't have any issues than it would be a good value but honestly spend the extra cash and save yourself the headache...

3 out of 5 eggsUEFI does not work

Pros: Visual Bios looks nice. Normal booting from MBR works.

Cons: A couple cons:

- In the product details, it says "PCI Express 3.0 x16: 2". I bought this mobo thinking I would be able to have crossfire running on two x16 PCIe 3.0 slots, but inspecting my configuration in BIOS shows that both slots are only at x8. So... that detail needs to be fixed on the product specs.

- Recovery jumper is underneath one of the video cards, so I have to pull out that video card to reset my BIOS settings if I happen to somehow disable video inadvertently.

- The aforementioned inadvertent video disabling happens when Legacy or UEFI Boot is disabled (can't remember which one) and seems to be some kind of bug.

- Speaking of UEFI, this does not seem to work well. In linux, I can use efibootmgr to inspect the EFI table, but my settings don't seem to hold during a restart, i.e. the new row in the EFI table points to nothing whereas before rebooting it points to the correct drive/partition/file. This last one might be user error on my part, but a lot of google searching reveals posts concluding that the UEFI support is spotty on this board due to some bugs past the version 0049 firmware where UEFI support issues were supposedly fixed.

Other Thoughts: One thing to keep in mind, it seems that as of 2013 we will soon be able to buy >2TB drives for our personal use, and our normal BIOS will not support partitions over 2TB or total disk usage over ~3.999TB due to storage addressing limitations of classical BIOS architecture. This board may not be viable for much longer if the UEFI support is not improved.

5 out of 5 eggsTons of functionality

Pros: If you are looking for the perfect companion to the 3770k, look no further. This mobo is fast, reliable, functional, and easy to configure.

Cons: The intel boot jingle is very loud.
