Intel S1200BTSR Micro ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1155 DDR3 1333

Pros: Was expecting to have this server completely setup by now on this board. 620W Power Supply gets nothing from it, nolights, no fans powering up, nothing!

Cons: DOA (Dead on Arrival) !! Maybe a case of getting what I paid for?

Other Thoughts: Now ordering another board and waiting on the RMA process through Newegg...

Pros: I'll come back later and change the review after it's running.

Cons: I'd like either Intel or NewEgg to make info about the RAM a bit clearer. Instead of telling you outright what it takes, I had to dig around in the technical documentation on Intel's site.

It *must* use ECC Unbuffered RAM. I also was confused and thought that ECC was optional and purchased Non-ECC Unbuffered RAM... it doesn't work.

Cons: Details suggest ECC ram support but another reviews disagrees. I am now confused but very interested in purchasing this board, assuming it truly supports buffered memory

Other Thoughts: This board will ONLY work with unbuffered DIMMS. I had to dig around on Intel's site to figure out why I was getting memory errors when my server wouldn't post. This will limit what memory you will be able to use. My system build will just be used as a test server, but if it was a production server; I'd look for a board that supports registered DIMMS.

Pros: Great features, good reliability.

Cons: Intel RAID drivers aren't the most up to date on Intel's website. You need 10.1 or higher of the RST drivers to support 3TB+ drives. If you look up this motherboard on their site it lists the most current version as 10.0.0.1046, yet if you look up the RST drivers independent of the motherboard the most current version is 10.8. If they would have kept their site updated it would have saved me several hours.
