4 out of 5 eggsDecent mini ITX ZFS / XenServer

Pros: ITX
Supports Xeon, Celerons, Pentium Gs, i3, i7
Dual NICs works right away with NAS4Free and XenServer

Cons: No IPMI
No built-in graphics, if you use a Xeon then the only PCIe slot goes to the video card
DVI-only connector on a server board?

Other Thoughts: Paired with a low power G560 Pentium and 8GB of Kingston ECC RAM+LSI 16i, works great as a ZFS storage appliance for medium sized business
Got another one paired with an i7 3900k and 16GB ECC, running several VMs in XenServer 6.2
Both setups are very stable. Price low enough to buy 2 of these for redundancy

5 out of 5 eggsPhracking A

Pros: only itx server mombo I could find.
ecc memory support, sata, etc...
perfect for a nas, or...many other things.
Dual network!

Cons: I hate it how everyone buys trash and when you have to purchase real, good, hardware it costs even more.

Why isn't everyone running ecc?

Other Thoughts: This thing is rocking with openindiana and a lsi raid card!

intel sata chipset supported in openindiana!

4 out of 5 eggsStable w/ Good Performance

Pros: * Stable
* Responsive
* Well Supported using Open Source Software
* No issues getting this systems up

Cons: * Board components are a little dated - no USB 3.0, PCI-E is 2.0 instead of at least 2.1.

Other Thoughts: Using this board with an E3-1265L (N82E16819117289), and 16GB of Kingston RAM (N82E16820239117) and so far the whole system has performed well. I'm using this as a VM server (Proxmox VE 3.x) hosting testing, staging, and production servers for IDS, proxy, DNS, LDAP, and ERP for a small business and has done exceptionally well.
I really would have preferred having USB 3 but the board was released Q2 2012, but purchased Q2 of 2013 so I guess it's where it's expected.
