5 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: Nice board, lots of features, good integrated sound, digital audio out (coax and optical). I used an AMD Athlon 64, 2.2Ghz and it runs like a champ.

Cons: The internal audio input connectors are at an odd place, I needed a really long cable from my dvd to the board.

Other Thoughts: Installation was a breeze, within fifteen minutes I was up and running

5 out of 5 eggsOwn Socket A version

Pros: Boots up good, No complaints whatsoever. It does as advertised. My windows xp pro operates as its itended to. I really love the functionalility of this board. I am looking to upgrade to the socket 939 version. I am pretty sure that this newer board is better than its predecessors.

Cons: The only problem is periodic freeze, the system would shut down and reboot. Please check out the power supply unit. I have replaced one in my pc. All problems melted away. As we speak. I haven;t had my pc freeze.

Other Thoughts: When I was building computers, I always thought mobos fail on their own. Only the surge and spikes can cause it. Its highly recommended to buy a good surge protector. Most likely the highes joules you can find. Stay away from 6 bux protectors. they will allow your investment to crumble

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Definately a good board for a beginner to PCI Express technology, and for a budget gaming PC.

Cons: None found so far.

Other Thoughts: I tried this mobo out today, and just make sure that your PSU has a 20+4 pin or a 24-pin power connecter, or it won't work (found out the hard way :/)

4 out of 5 eggsit works good

Pros: Works good, doesn't get too warm. Instruction manual is pretty good. BIOS is great, very detailed.

Cons: One, the support for this board sucks. There are no bios updates or driver updates since it's release. Their software is in engrish. Hard to get it working. This motherboard wouldn't detect my windows XP CD, even if I set my cd drive to first boot in the bios. Eventually I got windows to install after using the 6-disk bootdisks setup thingy.

Other Thoughts: Overall, good board. This seems like a good board if you're an overclocker. But I can't seem to get my Athlon64 3200+ to overclock without the system failing. I think I'm doing something wrong though.

5 out of 5 eggsA Well-Kept Secret

Pros: It's cheap. Plenty of expansion slots. Nice Layout. It OC's surprisingly well (I have my 3200 at 2.4GHz). It's got optical S/PDIF. Best of all, the chipset doesn't require active cooling unlike nvidia.

I use this in my audio workstation along with an M-Audio card and couldn't be happier.

Cons: No Firwire. It uses the VT8237R instead of the new VT8251 Southbridge. You may have to use some jumpers on the HD to get SATA 3.0 Gb/S HD's to play nice with this board. Also, no Gigabit LAN, but I'm using a wireless card anyway.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is shipping the latest revision of this board, so it WILL RUN DUAL-CORE!

The 24-pin connector could be in a more convenient spot, but the problem it creates (wires in the CPU fan) is easily solved with a twist-tie.

Save some money with this board and spend it on a better graphics card or audio gear.

5 out of 5 eggsupdate info

Pros: I wanted to update my review , this board will indeed run 2x1 gb memory modules at ddr 400 and the 1t command rate
it has been a stable board

Cons: the on board lan does not play nice with my fortissimo 3 sound card no biggie to me as I had a 3com lan card lying around . turns out the 3com lan worked better anyway

5 out of 5 eggsEffing Awesome!

Pros: Via chipset, very stable, much better BIOS then my old ASUS A7V8X, PCI-X, what's there not to like?

Cons: No firewire

Other Thoughts: If you are planning on building an Althon64 system, this is your choice! No problems with windows XP 32 or XP 64. Runs very stable, and I love it!

5 out of 5 eggsIts EVEN FIXABLE TOO!!

Pros: Good overclocking options
Decent board Layout,
Got a 3700+ (San Diego 2.2 Stock) @ 2.98Ghz

Cons: For some on godly reason the bios fails to load at stock cpu settings, or wont restart, HOWEVER it works fine with my proc OC-ed

Other Thoughts: My TideWater VGA Cooler from Thermal take was so heavy it shorted out 2 main tracelining on the back of the pcb, bless the conductive pen at Radioshack, easy fix.

4 out of 5 eggsnot great

Pros: fits onto my case with pleanty of room to spare. It has a nice option that shows a code that you look-up in the manual to see what is wrong.

Cons: It the device slots were too far to the right so that none of my components fit on the MOBO and in the case at the same time. But I fixed that problem.

Other Thoughts: Cheaper to change than a Video Card. It did not like my video card

5 out of 5 eggsGood little board

Pros: Very fas board using this w/a 3800 vennice and 2x512 mushkin HP blue ram
great board with all the tweakin' options one could want adjustments for memory timmings, voltages a well written bios .good board for those who want a non nvidia board . It even has the locks needed for overclockin if that is your game. I like the bios screen that posts temps and voltages on 1st boot. great value for the money and acording to a email from epox support it has been tested with a 4600+ X2 CPU

Cons: poor placement of 24 pin Power connector , does not monitor the 12v rail

Other Thoughts: The guy who said it will not support 2x 1GB memory sticks is incorrect as epox specs clealy say 4gb of ram supported
