5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The board is extremely versatile, especially for the money. This is my fourth abit. If the product stays this good, I have no doubt they will be the #1 board manufacturer. Wait lol they are #1! (newegg too)

Cons: for the money, none

Other Thoughts: Their forum is packed with knowledgeable people, freely giving super tips. I have this running an e6550 @428x4 1700fsb on air, with ocz's pc9200@ 1200mhz. This board will take 2000fsb! The best bang for my buck ever!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good,,but not Excellent

Pros: First thing,,Do A Bios Up Date,,That clears most bugs out...
I was able to get this thing going with a E6850,,Even
though it only showed 1.33cpu LOL...Loaded a operating system and flashed the Bios ,, now it sees the 3.0 CPU and the 8Gb Memory,, Just waiting for my 4 hard drives Raid 10 and we should be in buisness..

Cons: Just the Bios Flash needed....

5 out of 5 eggsPast reviewers are NOT technical

Pros: Very nice board--one of the first to support Quad core proc. Easy installation, install, and software updates. Abit Uguru software is nice (though there are some issues with WinVista)

Cons: None--other than the reviewers on Newegg

Other Thoughts: The past reviewers of this board complain about flashing bios with floppies. I've exclusively owned Abit boards now for over 10 years and for at least the last 5 years, Abit has had a utility to use from WITHIN the Operating system to flash the bios--called Flashmenu. It's in the 'download' section on their site-not the bios section. You guys need to do your research before flaming a board/manufacture.

1 out of 5 eggsDONT BUY THIS MOTHERBOARD

Pros: I have finally had to replace this mb with a gigabyte, only 2 of 6 sata connectors left. This board should have never left the factory and the tech support just wastes your money. Did anyone get there rebate cause I know I didnt. There are some really good companies out there, due your research and save your hard earned money.

Cons: see above the bios updates are done the same way as 20 years ago.

Other Thoughts: This company is so bad it should not even be in business. I have never seen anything like this in my 55 years. You've been warned. They are the exact opposite of Newegg which is at the very top of customer service and support.

1 out of 5 eggsCUSTOMER SUPPORT IS HORRIBLE!

Pros: Very Good Motherboard besides the customer support.

Cons: The customer support of Abit is the worst I have ever seen. They do not respond to e-mails and they do not answer the phone. I don't understand what is wrong with this company but do not buy from them because of their customer support. I actually put in an RMA request and I sent the board out and I waited 2 weeks and then I got a DOA board!! Save yourself so much stress and go with a good company. I am going with and XFX board.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat board, but...

Pros: -Great layout and loaded with tons of features.

-Tons of connections in the back

Cons: -Horrible Bios and not user friendly when upgrading... Do we really need to use floppys anymore?? seriously!

-SATA connectors are extremely flimsy and popped off twice.

-Still waiting on a Rebate I mailed off back in September... It's now January. It was sent certified mail so I know they got it.

Other Thoughts: I've had a love hate relationship with this board for the past several months. I bought one for myself and it worked fine, so I decided to build a system for a friend of mine with the same mobo.... It's been a disaster. After 3 failed attempts to upgrade the bios we found out the chip was corrupted. Ordered a new chip and then the windows install became corrupted. I've been over to my friends house at least 8 times cause the system won't boot up (clearing the bios seems to fix it for a few days then same problem).... I think I'm gonna go back to ASUS mobos after this

5 out of 5 eggsBeen working for over 1 year

Pros: Easy setup, install, OC abilities. Great users forum at ABIT for help. Outside reset switch. On board sound is pretty good.

Cons: Shipping BIOS must be flashed - its useable if you don't go RAID, but you wouldn't want it. FSB tops at 1066. Owners manual is lengthy, but not very useful! On board sound may have too many options.

Other Thoughts: I'm not using RAID,which was an issue with the shipping BIOS. I bought this about 1 month after original release date. No problems with noise or SATA ports falling off. E6600, Saphire 1900, Zalman fan, 4 gigs mem., 500 gig SATA WD, 1 SATA DVD drive, 1 PATA DVD drive.

1 out of 5 eggsSATA PORTS FALL OFF

Pros: This would be the best mobo I ever had if the stata ports did not just off, just touch a cable.
The abit support is none existant.
You will just waste long distance.

Cons: After at least 30 phone calls and filling out the abit rma 3 times and no response.I did finally get a person, they just said fill out the online form.
Check the BBB report

Other Thoughts: If a company is so poor they will not help they should not be in business. But from a company that supports its products. Some are slow but helpful.
I have wasted over $30.00 on long distance.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent low-cost base for a Q6600

Pros: I wanted to build a low-cost system with a Q6600. Attainable ceiling with the Q6600 is close to a Celeron 300! Liked this board and the Q6600 so much I bought two more sets.

Cons: Ships with an old bios and you should flash it first.

Other Thoughts: I am not a gamer, so my video card is a basic 7300GT on all three systems. Luckily all three Q6600's were the SLACR variety. (Thanks, NewEgg!) Cooling the last two via Thermalright Ultra120 Extremes. CPUs temps at full load are about 42c and 51c - a perfect example of 'your mileage may vary.'

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Stable board, great bios over clocking, Duo E6600 2.4GHz OC'd to 3.2GHz ~ ; > Nice to have RAID, quite,

Cons: Corrupted my bios chip by flashing from windows, NEVER AGAIN! I had to buy another board to boot, hot swap chips, and flash old chip.

Other Thoughts: This setup was a breeze to get stable 3.2GHz at 40oC, only took one day to build and OC. PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610, ABIT AB9 QuadGT P965, Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz, OCZ Reaper 2GB DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500), Enzotech Ultra-X CPU Cooler. Great article at Virtual Hideout. Newegg is the best, and usually the best price!!
