5 out of 5 eggsStill Working Strong

Pros: The AN52 is a Clean Motherboard with a Great BIOS, Easy to Read Connections, Great Fault I/O, Very Good Riser Card Connection Arrangement, and Power Connection is a Snap. This board is just a continuing product that is still going strong well after its makers have gone under.

Cons: Just Prior to 6GB SATA, not really a con but could have been looked at for upgrade-ability considering it was in development at the time this board was being made. It might have saved ABit as a company. They were always a powerful contender tech-wise. It should have had 2 PCIe
x 16 slots and less PCI slots. The 2 PCIe x 1 slot are perfect in location, which they do not interfere with the Graphics Card as they do on other newer boards.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: price, Layout, very stable

Cons: This b oard is not for easy overclocking. The FSB:DRAM ratio/dividers are very bad and cannot be changed. That means you need to have *very* good RAM to overclock this board. If you have the right RAM this board is not bad. But if you are willed to pay for good RAM you might want to look for a better Board.

Other Thoughts: My system: x2 4000, HD2900gt, 2x2GB Transcend DDR2, Antec Trio 430W Netzteil
BTW you do not need a 8pin power plug. The standard 4pin P4 plug is sufficient.

4 out of 5 eggsNICE , lowcost board!!!!

Pros: Low cost, simple design and hookup. OVERCLOCKS very well with alittle work!!

Cons: If you are going to overclock you will have to raise voltage and watch your memory speed.

Other Thoughts: With the stock voltage I couldn`t get ANY overclock at all with a 3600 x 2 Brisbane. So after a small voltage adjustment and some memory tweeking my 1.9 GHz 3600 is currantly running at a cool 2.72GHz. So with a little work this board is pretty FAST!!!

4 out of 5 eggsNice board for AMD 5000 Black Edition

Pros: Very friendly for overclocking the AMD x2 5000 Black Edition. Bios setting moved multiplier for CPU to 15x. Also I liked very much the huge ABIT initial screen as it shows an old-timer's eyes the bios access key in LARGE PRINT. Also the screen doesn't flash by quickly letting an old SLOW-DRAW-McDRAW like me actually press the delete key in time!!!

Cons: Really can't think of any other than the metal utility panel for rear inputs is kinda thin and flimsy. But I think most MB manufacturers are making them THIN LIKE TIN. Hey. thats poetry! :)

Other Thoughts: You will be happy with the price. Make sure you get latest drivers. By the way if anyone might forget ... in the old days you didn't need to insert a power connection for MB CPUs. Make sure you the attach power connector to your CPU. Last year I thought I had a dead MB until I remembered things have changed power-wise. Gosh it's tuff gettin old. :)

5 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: Works well for a relatively cheap AM2 motherboard. Haven't done anything out of the ordinary with it -- built it for one of my daughters. Solid, well-built, Abit quality mobo.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried overclocking. As usual, Newegg is the absolute best!

2 out of 5 eggsBe Cautious

Pros: This board is very simple to set up, and is very fast for the price

Cons: I have this board for 4 months. After a couple of months I started getting weird errors when I would shutdown. I finally decided to reload Windows XP, and the board crashed. I have bench tested it, but it is a dud. Abit is a good board maker, but the QC on this was not good.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great price point. No problems on install, booted right up. Read factory settings for RAM and other devices correctly.

Cons: RAM slots a bit close to CPU. But Temps are still in normal range with no overclocking. Would have been nice if one of the PCI x1 slots was an x16 for sli.

Other Thoughts: Havent tried it yet but i bet you could still overclock your ram with no issues. Installed in Eagle Tech ET-CAKSR4500-BK case. Update Bios Immediately.
