1 out of 5 eggsAX 78

Pros: LAN is rock solid. Works fine with Windows.

Cons: If you want to run Linux buy some other board. The ATi770/SB600 chip set doesn't play nice with ANY version of Linux. Freezes and crashes are numerous and often. Also BIOS clock resets by itself.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board somewhere else. There are many, many better boards out there.

5 out of 5 eggsThis Board Rocks

Pros: This board is the bomb. Overclock's like a dream and has Crossfire { a big plus in my book }. Lots of options in the bios.

Cons: Not a blinking one.

Other Thoughts: Get this board. You won't regret it

1 out of 5 eggsABIT is terrible

Pros: Nice layout and I thought it provided reasonable bang for the buck.

Cons: Never got video to work. I used a known good video card and it never worked. Unfortunately I didn't start my build until after the NewEgg replacement period had expired, so I had to try to RMA thru ABIT. They have NO customer support. I called them several times. On hold for 20+ minutes, then left a message each time. Never one response. If you buy ABIT, pray that it works, because if you have a problem, they offer no help.

Other Thoughts: The MB had a $15 rebate when I purchased it. I completed all the paperwork and submitted it on time. They sent an e-mail acknowledging that the submission was good, and that's the last I've heard from them. It's been almost 4 months and I haven't seen a penny. NewEgg is trying to resolve the rebate issue for me -- Thanks NewEgg

4 out of 5 eggsAudio does not work. Realtek driver update required.

Pros: Solid motherboard
Installed easily

Cons: Audio does not work with the supplied drivers. Abit does not even have a link to the drivers on the Realtec web site. I was concerned about their level of care.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MB

Pros: Great solid MB, lots of features, no problems with install.
Great BIOS features

Cons: No Firewire

Other Thoughts: Flashed BIOS from ver12 to 13 - didn't gain any improvements, but now when changing the memory settings from Auto to Manual, there are no default reference number. On ver 12 it would change to manual, and leave the numbers that had been selected automatically. On ver 13 it just says "auto" and you have to guess what they were running at. If you are going to tweak/ OC your memory maker sure to write down your memories auto settings before flashing from 12 to 13

Great to add a second 35xx series ATI card later.
Don't use for serious gaming rig as the 2nd port is only 4x (not 8 or 16 like more serious gaming boards). However as a gaming machine for young kids, I can buy a $xx video card now, and then another identical one for say $xx a few month down the road to boost their gaming fun.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Has worked great for about 5 months now. Great overclocking abilities-easily got my 4800+ to 3 ghz. I got the rebate, but it did take a few months. The cmos reset switch on the back is really handy. It has a yellow 2 digit code displayed for error codes. This board is very nice and I have had no problems at all.

Cons: Sometimes when trying to get it to overclock it says something about cpu frequency overrunning, which i was able to fix by lowering my ram speed.

Other Thoughts: If you want a nice board for the price, this is it. When i used a program to check up on this mobo, it called it a 790 instead of a 770. When buying this product, I couldn't decide between this one and an ASUS equivalet. I think I made the right choice.

1 out of 5 eggsABIT Straight Up SUCKS

Pros: None

Cons: Prevented the computer from booting
Did not detect RAM
Adhered components broke easily upon installation
Motherboard beeps at random intervals every 10 minutes or so

Other Thoughts: Replaced 2 times in first 3 months of use. A new problem with each replacement. The Abit Corporation literally denied tech support by claiming those problems did not occur on that piece of equipment and would hang up on me. I sent multiple letters in writing to the heaquarters with no reply. It cost me extra money to replace the motherboard twice and a lot of time.
