4 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: works fine. the soundboard is good enough, so no need to invest extra sound card.

Cons: didnt realize the PCI e16 slot, so had to upgrade my vcard. but everythin else was ok.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Very nice board, easy installation, manual explains everything very nice. Used in my first build, and i love the product. I have the 3RD EYE model of the board, and the added clock is incredble. I have all my temperatures, voltages, RPMs, etc in front of me!

Cons: Northbridge heatsink is rather large, but can be reversed if more space is needed on the motherboard

5 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Comments: Easy to set up. I'm really happy with my purchase. I was up and running the same evening my newegg parts came in. I did notice when the board was really overclocked... that when I switch it back to 'default', the system locks up. I can turn the speed down a bit at a time but not all at once. I am also talking about clocking my 3.2 gig Intel 640 to 4000Mhz. Although I have found even at the default speed it is super fast enough.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost a Fatal1ty

Comments: I am very happy with this board. The well known Fatal1ty board is a AA8XE. This is almost the same board, with minor changes. For the price, I am extremly happy. I like the Abit's uGuru and the LED display. There are plenty of fan connectors on this board. Has just about every port I need, including the optical in and out (I edit, master, and remix music, and it works great with my audio system). I only have a few minor problems with this board.

The biggest is that there is only 1 IDE connector, which means only 2 IDE devices. Yes, I know that its all going SATA, but I still have some useful IDE hardware such as zip drives and etc. Having a board that can implement both old and new standards is a plus.

Make sure you install the drivers from the CD you get after an install of XP. XO wont automatically have drivers for a lot of things, most importantly the chipset.

5 out of 5 eggsRight for the Money

Comments: What can you say, I hooked this board up adn it worked right from the get go. Havae had no probs at all and for the money it has a lot of great features all of which work with no probs for me. Had to buy ad adapter in town to hook the chepo PSU up that came with my case, Have a nice Ultxx X 500w coming in Hopefully it gets here as fast as this case did!! . Teamed this board up with a PENT 630 prescott and it just screams! Thanks newegg, Ya'll Rock!!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Comments: Good board. tested this little sucker out cause my friend bought it. However for your sound problems and things. go with the AL8-V. Audio is Intel HD audio. This rivals a sound blaster audigy ZS. Since it has 24bit sound... Onboard sound hasn't ever been better :D. Also the FSB is 1066/800 not 800/533 more room for cpu upg.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat a pain...

Comments: If this board didn't perform as well as it does in the end I would never give it a 4. After a few hours I figured out I had to fiddle with the ccmos jumper (which is conveniently placed and looks like it will be used often) in order to get the RAID working. I had to reverse my northbridge heatsink to fit my cpu heatsink on the thing. The flashmenu utility doesn't work... I have a p4 3.4 and 1.5 gigs of hyper-x in this thing, so I know it's not me. When I go to flash my bios through this program it does nothing. In the end it's a great, stable board. My benchmarks are nearing 3k in 3dmark05 with an x700 vga. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this trouble but it's not a beginner board.
