5 out of 5 eggsKicking MB

Pros: Perfect for a "lite" server MB. Lot's of PCI slots, built in video, gig ethernet, SATA RAID ports. I stuck in 8Gb of RAM and booted from the server 2003 x64 disk. No issues with the install at all other than having to use the F6 method to install the SATA RAID drivers. Thats a problem with the OS, not the MB.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Here is the CPU and RAM I used:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+(65W) Windsor 2.2GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADO4200CUBOX - Retail

and 2X

G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - Retail

3 out of 5 eggsWish it was more reliable

Pros: Very nice feature set for the price.

Cons: Reliability is in doubt.
Temperature sensors report somewhat incorrect lower values.
Drivers aren't the best. Particularly firewall isn't good: can't set ports per application, firewall clashes with torrent P2P and causes memory leak.

Other Thoughts: Had two of these boards. First died cold in about 3 months. Second ran fine for about half year, then simultaneously PCI, floppy and network died (analysis showed parity errors). Feature-wise I like the board, but it just gives me too much trouble.

4 out of 5 eggsAlright so far

Pros: all the parts I need. fast network, video, HD audio, SATA, 20/24pin power, Firewire, USB, etc.

Cons: only one Sys Fan outlet. FrontPanel audio connector at the back of the board, IDE/FDD connectors in an odd place

Other Thoughts: I had the same memory stick problem. System booted but failed in about 3 minutes. Moved sticks, booted fine. Could not connect FPAudio, cable too short since pins at the back of the board. Took a few trys to get XP to shut up long enough for all drivers to load. It still isn't happy about a PCI device, probably the sound chip. AMD 5200 X2 boogies, stays cool.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Onboard graphics is really good everything else is also. Manual is pretty well written except some spots (see cons). Nevertheless its a great board and I would buy again!

Cons: Some better documentation for the software on the installation cd would've been better. Other then that its really good.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't boot up first try partly because HD was dead but its not the motherboard's fault

5 out of 5 eggsUnreal Realtek

Pros: Enough legacy slots and USB ports to keep me happy. Lots of features for the bucks. Seems to run fine with AMD x2 4200+, Kingston DDR2 667 memory (2x1GB). Onboard GeForce 6100 video is ok. It only supports 1024x768 with my current monitor.

Cons: Realtek audio driver caused me some grief. I don't know if it was just me or the installation procedure, but it took me a while to get the audio chip running. Once I did, I got stymied when I found that voices were sounding like chipmunks. Seems that somewhere along the line, I had hit the 'Karaoke' setting in the audio control panel and bent the pitch considerably!!! After installing a few different audio codecs, it has an occasional stutter I can't eliminate. Probably not Giga-bytes' fault.

Other Thoughts: I'm not an overclocker or gamer, so I haven't really stressed out the system yet. It does run an HDTV card and Beyond TV just fine and runs Office and some scientific/CAD programs just fine under Xp32. If you want a good basic XP system this seems to be just fine. No other issues, yet. Time will tell if this MB holds up.

3 out of 5 eggsnice board but ...

Pros: Very nice layout, easy install, up to 16GB memory! Running with AMD 6000+, very fast

Cons: no digital audio input for CD drive, dual memory wouldn't work in first two slots, had to put them in second two slots to boot, updated BIOS, still same problem, found out that my board is a rev. 1 board, which is lame because rev. 3 is already out. NewEgg should have sent the latest version.

Other Thoughts: Will return and try again with this board and if it turns out well I'll give it a 5

5 out of 5 eggsKeeping Busy

Pros: Great bios and support. Will work out of the box if you do it right. It turned out to be a lot of fun.

Cons: Not the best overclocker all kinds of redos.

Other Thoughts: I've been working on this for 20+ hours straight and will get it overclocked after some much needed rest.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 4 sata ports & on board video & 2 ide ports

Cons: Received the mobo, threw 4 sticks for ddr2 800 in and it wouldn't even give me a screen.. had to diagnose through error beeps. Turns out if there is a stick of memory in first yellow ddr slot, it won't boot. (No, the stick isn't bad). The instruction book was written in, and a note was in there saying there was an issue with the yellow ddr slot. So.. although gigabyte made a bad board, newegg sold me a returned defective board instead of a new item. I'm thinking that I got the board ZZ (in the comments below) returned.

Other Thoughts: I've contacted newegg support and have no doubt that they will remedy their mistake. Otherwise I'm looking forward to getting a working board and think it will work great for my light duty file server.

5 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE GA-M55plus

Pros: Really easy to set up, I didn't have any issues. Onboard video works really well (for onboard vid.)better than most. CPU and cooler wwent in very nicely (easiest I've ever done). BIOS recognized all my drives instantly.

Cons: None that I can think of, maybe it wasn't free, lol.

Other Thoughts: The Ethernet controller is disabled at first, you need to use the driver CD that comes with it. Everyone touts how Newegg's Shipping is great, it notes 3 day gauantee at checkout ,if you select that. I orderd on 4/18/07, verified shipped on 4/19/07 by UPS (UPS verified),recieved on 4/24/07. My Caculations 4 days not 3 days (garaunteed). Will use Newegg again, they have the best prices.
