1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: HDMI, digital optical, component and S-video outputs.

Cons: Didn't even work, DOA. Too bad I was on vacation and couldn't figure that out in time. Total loss on the product. Bought an ASUS and it works just fine with the same equipment. Started up first time.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for low cost HTPC

Pros: HDMI, SATA, Firewire, DV-I, VGA, LAN, decent onboard video, even better onboard audio! When matched with a good CPU like the 5000+ BE (2.91@Ghz) it provides a super stable plaform for Vista Media Center or MCE XP, just add tuner cards. But if you want add some "real" graphic power....

Cons: You might run into some problems if you don't select your components properly. Given the small nature of a mATX board, it should be no surprise that high end video cards that take up two slots will block one of the PCI slots. Now I got great graphics, but no more OTA HDTV tuner (Cat's Eye 150). I'm relagated to SD Direct TV via TV Wonder 650 PCI and an unused PCI-e 1x slot...

Other Thoughts: Well given my budget nowdays I can't update/replace as fast as I would like. To get back my OTA HD, I need to replace my current TV Wonder 650 with the PCI-e version which has dual tuners and move it above the video card, which would give me a PCI slot back to put my Cat's Eye 150 back in. Limited OC on this board, original bios allowed 3.1Ghz stable, I updated like a bonehead and Vista won't even boot or crash after its finish loading Windows... I might go back to the orginal bios and shoot for 3.2Ghz

1 out of 5 eggsIf it doesn't work, Gigabyte won't help

Pros: Can't keep it running and Gigabyte won't fix it.... Not much good about a product that has been RMAed twice and is still NOT working.

Cons: Worked okay for about a month. Then quit posting completely and failed. During RMA process with Gigabyte, twice, I gave up and bought an ASUS motherboard so I wouldn't have to wait for a system anymore. Gigabyte keeps sending the motherboard back with no report information, no data about what tests were done or if it passed a post in their shop, they send NO data when they return it. I've called and e-mailed them, they say, try and different CPU and call for another RMA if that doesn't work, etc., etc., etc. At some point you just have to give up, bite the loss and buy a different brand and model...

Other Thoughts: Had a hard time posting with it the first time I built the system using it, but, it was a new build and I didn't know where the problem was, I replaced the CPU, replace the the hard drive and tried both IDE and SATA, the memory modules, the power supply (twice), tried with a video card inserted to see of the onboard graphics was the problem and it could be bypassed didn't help)

Spent money to RMA with Gigabyte USA, they sent it back, still didn't work. Called them, tried everything they said, still didn't work. RMAed it again, came back again, STILL WILL NOT POST! I've tried taking the CPU out of a running system, doesn't help, tried the Power Supply in another system, works fine. Tried different types and sizes and different brands of memory modules on the gigabyte approved list. Nothing.

2 reasons not to buy this motherboard now, one it isn't reliable, two, Gigabyte won't stand behind it and they keep sending it back with zero remarks. No clue why they think it works.

1 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted here too

Pros: Chock full of features and squeezes a lot into a small footprint.

Cons: Died a couple of months ago and forced me to build a new box. No post, no warnnig, no nothing.

Other Thoughts: I think it should become Newegg's policy to make people wait a few months before they can review a product as that initial review is emotional. The real story is in how it holds up after a few months of use - esspecially when it comes to hard drives and monitors (think Samsung and Sceptre).

4 out of 5 eggsCheap but good

Pros: Its a great board for the price. If your not a heavy gamer and looking for a cheap board this is the one for you.

Cons: none for the price of this board

Other Thoughts: I got 2 of these so the kids had something to beat up on and leave mine alone. They have been running for 6 months now and not one problem at all.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Great little board 6 months ago, but for not much more cash now you can get a Gigabyte board with a 780G chipset which may save you the expense of adding a seperate video card.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The onboard video does a good job for normal stuff, but don't expect to run your Blu-ray content through it.

5 out of 5 eggsNICE!!!!

Pros: Excellent board for the price, with all the critical features I needed: Gb LAN, RAID, plenty of SATA, onboard video, and low power consumption.

Cons: None noted. However, I can't get the system fans to shut down when system goes to sleep. I must be missing something.

Other Thoughts: This is my data backup PC in the garage, connected (Cat6) to my Gigabit LAN, configured with a single system drive and mirrored 1TB data drives (which are backed-up online by Carbonite). Loving it.

2 out of 5 eggsHow disappointing...

Pros: Small, has a lot of features, has 4 sata ports.

Cons: I tried installing windows on this machine 3 times. Every time i get massive problems with the network. Event viewer throws off all sorts of errors and it can become very laggy when multitasking. Like a few others have said, it just seems very unstable. I ran memtest, memory was fine, checked the hdds, they are ok, processor is good to. Maybe its just this AMD chip set.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to RMA both boards I got. I don't even want to try using the other one. Sucks because everything gigabyte has made has worked very VERY well for me until now.

2 out of 5 eggsBad onboard PS

Pros: Good video and sound.

Cons: On two boards while plsying Crysis the board shutdown. No video, no sound, no post, no beeps on boot. Returned the board to Gigabyte. After 3 weeks recieved a different. While playing Crysis at medium graphics the board did the same thing. Now Gigabyte has not issued an RMA and have not responed to any support.
