5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Overclocked easy. Has run reliably since I bought it in 2008. Now in a computer used as a HTPC/file share, runs 24/7 without issue.

Cons: Outdated and probably can no longer find one anywhere.

5 out of 5 eggsMy daily driver

Pros: Do they not make it like they did before? How can I kill this baby?
Its been 7 years and still running without an issue. I have had boards die in 2-4 years but this one consistently outlast all of them.

Its still mated with my 7 yrs old e8400.

Cons: Absolutely none, after 7 years it would be impossible for a con.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't be surprised if it last me a decade. I am gonna try to run it to the ground and will check back when it dies.

5 out of 5 eggsold girl finally died

Pros: built her in 2007, in the end the case had no fans functioning and it eventually fried, but out lived the memory, and 2 video cards. other than that everything else was in tact (other than the terribad case I bought at the time with bad fans). I can't give it anything less than 5 eggs just for the fact is survived 6 years of gaming torture.

Cons: uh died after 6 years of severe abuse, and 3 moves. wait that's not a con, its amazing.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Durability

Pros: By far, the most stable and longest lasting desktop board I've ever deployed. It's been through several cases, PS's, a ton of video cards, various storage, three OS's, two hurricanes and a minor earthquake.

Cons: Could not ask more of this board; its shortcomings are only due to being of a different era: Slot layout (3 PCI!), "only" 4 SATA.

Other Thoughts: The longevity and stability of this board has made me a lifelong fan of Gigabyte.

Current config is -

Core2 Quad Q6660
8GB of G.Skill F2-8500CL5
Antec Sonata III w/ EarthWatts 500
Radeon HD 6850
Crucial ReadSSD C300 (OS/Boot), WDC 1.5TB (Data)

5 out of 5 eggsUltra reliable motherboard

Pros: Great overall board. I've had it for about 5 years and it still works absolutely perfect. The rest of the system has been upgraded multiple times with several cases and power supplies and it just keeps on working.

Originally had a e2160@3ghz(333x9), 4gb of ram, and nVidia 9600gt for about 2.5 years then upgraded to a q6600@3.4ghz(377x9), 8gb of ram and a ATI 4870. The 4870 died and I upgraded to a GTX 470 which I am still running and it all has been working well since.

The highest stable (bench-able) I could get out of the e2160 was about 3.6ghz and q6600 is around 3.8ghz.

Cons: The FSB seems to be limited to around 380-400 unless you up the chipset voltage, which then you can get around 415-420.
