4 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard, has some minor issues

Pros: One of the lead P35 chipset motherboards, runs great in tandem with my QX9650, keeps good temps, has a lot of expansion options, capable of high FSB clock speeds. Has Crossfire dual graphics card option. Hackintosh-compatible with almost everything having compatiblity for OSX. Overclocks very well, was able to get my processor up to 3.7GHz with this (using multiplier only).

Cons: Sometimes I run into issues where the hard drive will not boot maybe because the SATA port has issues.

Other Thoughts: It runs great even after four years use but an issue I have is it will say HARD DRIVE DISK BOOT FAILURE from time to time when I restart the PC, it only happens once in a while though and all I have to do is either restart or reconnect the hard drives, still annoying nonetheless.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Until Cold Solder Joints...

Pros: Excellent MOBO for a while...

Cons: Cold solder joints on SATA ports. Some ports never work and some will loose contact after on for a while causing loss of hard drive access and crash.

Other Thoughts: Even though it is still under warranty there are 2 reasons why I will never buy another Gigabyte MOBO.

From their site on RMA page,

(1) No cross shipping or advanced replacements under any circumstances

(2) Average turnaround time will be 2-3 business working weeks upon receipt

So, you are without your computer for how long?

FORGET IT!!!

1 out of 5 eggsGreat board, with easy setup if you understand it

Pros: The board is very simple to set up, except the SATA chipset (see Cons), and I have had no problems since installing it about 5 months ago. The RAID0/1 functions are great, allowing you to have a mirrored disk, in case of a failure. Thankfully I haven't needed it yet, but it's there if I do.

Cons: The two sets of SATA ports have different controllers, made by different manufacturers, with different abilities, making setup a pain for those who aren't SATA experts, apparently. This also means that when installing drivers, you don't know which one is which. Even worse, the drivers for the SATA chipset were not included on the provided CD.

5 out of 5 eggs5 month follow-up

Pros: Pretty much everything. Probably would rather see no ide connections and 2 more SATA, but keep the floppy.

Cons: None really except for difficulty of doing ACHI so I can hot plug external HDDs

Other Thoughts: Have used this board on 7 installs now and no issues. As with all boards/builds-research is paramount. I do believe I will keep Giga-Byte, but probably use a P-48T on next personal build

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Very stable mobo does everything I need it to do runs fast and cool

Cons: Realtek audio could be better lol

Other Thoughts: Running a PentiumD 3ghz with 650w psu, 8800gts 512, 4gb of pny 667 ram, can run cod4 on high no glitch at all also can run aoc on high with average of 30fps, Im currently overclocking just a little bit PentiumD starts getting really hot if i push too much good board i would recommend

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's great while it works!

Cons: I normally don't write a review but this board makes me mad. First, this motherboard would not sleep in vista probably! 2 weeks later it give me some "recovery BIOS" message when I turn it on. After that, it's all random rebooting! I RAM the board to Gigabyte, got my replacement 1 month later! I just install my motherboard and guess what, random rebooting! why did they even send me a broken board?? why? why? why Gigabyte! now I dunno if I should buy another board, or RAM back to Gigabyte!

Other Thoughts: It was newegg's "1x Winner of Customer Choice Award - Intel Motherboards" wow, it should have been "1x Winner of RANDOM REBOOT - Intel Motherboards". I have bought so much stuff on newegg, this is the first time ever I got something that is not working! I will stick with ASUS and please stay away from GIGAVYTE! hope newegg will do something about it!

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: None, b/c the thing won't stay running.

Cons: Endless reboots started after 2 weeks. Gigabyte customer services is almost non-existent, very slow, and does nothing to keep you in the loop. Just try and find a phone # on their page. As a result, my new build has been shelved for 1 1/2 months, thanks Gigabyte, you sorry bootches.

Other Thoughts: Will never buy from Gigabyte again based on their customer service ALONE! It costs me $28 bucks to ship it back (they don't cover it). If the replacement fails, I will not try again given others are replacing 4 times without success. The board is only $200, and more return shipping would be ridiculous. I would have bought a more expensive board if I wanted to pay $250-300. If board 2 fails I would be more than happy to be involved in a class action suite against Gigabyte. They know about the problem, but haven't corrected a thing, even their support. Just Google it people. Will add more after replacement is tested.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard Deal

Pros: This board is great. It runs, and it runs without complaigning. I have 2 them, Identical machines, 600W PSU, I have not overclocked YET. Plenty of i/o. I have it running graphic programs, Auction programs, Internet Searches all at the same time and I don't have to wait on anything!

Cons: Only con was I bought 2, 1 was DOA. As always NewEgg promptly replaced it. 2nd worked fine.

Other Thoughts: I wish it came with some VR gloves and glasses. :0)

1 out of 5 eggsNo performance GA-P35-DS4 Rev. 2.0

Pros: 1. Easy installation with plenty of cabling.
2. Pretty copper tubing

Cons: 1. Number 1 problem --endless reboots. Who needs an MB like this? I never once got to my OS. Even if the board was only $10.00 it wouldn't be a good deal for anyone. I will defnitely never buy another MB like this. Newegg should stop selling this item permanently. It is a diservice to us who are customers.
2. Very tight clamps for the ram. When you have a PCI-E graphics card like my GTS 8800, it is very difficult to close the retaining clamps.

Other Thoughts: Newegg, listen to your customers. Stop selling this pile of junk!
