Great value board from Gigabyte
- Pros: For the few dozen green I spent on this, this board delivers. It supports 4GB of memory, has a bit of expansion available, and overclocks pretty well for a cheap Intel chipset. I'm satisfied.
- Cons: For the time being I need to keep my hard drive (160GB IDE Maxtor) and my DVD burner on one cable, which slows a lot of things way down. It's about time I upgraded anyways.
- Other Thoughts: This is a rewrite to my past review, on which I only put one egg for some reason. This board is far from a one-egg rating.
Confused with processor on motherboard
- Pros: Very excited to test it out, havent been able to get it to boot.
- Cons: cant get the motherboard to work yet
- Other Thoughts: trying this mother board with a Intel Pentium E2200 Allendale 2.2GHz along with CORSAIR 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory Model VS2GB667D2 ram but havent been able to get it to turn on, connected everything and plugged in a D-sub monitor PS/2 mouse and keyboard yet nothing shows up for the monitor, tested on multiple monitors, rechecked all connections, yet cant get it to boot yet. any suggestions, i think the BIOS is F3 right now, checked the GIGABYTE website and said i might need to update bios to F4 but if i cant boot the computer how would i do that ?
Great board
- Pros: For a basic build this is a great Motherboard. Posted first boot. Accepted and fully recognized DDR2800 RAM without issue and has run flawlessly so far (standard DDR2667). It is nice to read a manual that is written in "complete English" and has very well laid out diagrams. Very compact configuration but the layout makes it easy to install all of the components without having hands the size of a small child.
- Cons: None so far.
