Good mobo for the price
- Pros: Decent mobo for the cost. It's been running the E6750 in my GF's PC at 3.4Ghz (425x8) no problem for the last few months.
- Cons: Minimal features, hidden OC menu.
great CPU
- Pros: This is a great CPU for gaming. I upgraded the ram on my AMD which didn't help much. Swapping out to a gigbyte mb, this CPU and2GB of 1066 ram made a huge difference. Running in 1650x1050 reolution all settings on high with no hickups. Very pleased with the speed for the price point.
- Cons: None
Good on a budget, but not long-lasting for the gamer
- Pros: Good continuing support for CPU and memory (relatively), great upgrade board for someone new to LGA775 or DDR2 standards, great BIOS options for dummy-style overclocking and more advanced options for hardcore OCers, reliable dual-BIOS and nice onboard features.
- Cons: Doesn't like my memory (DDR2 1066, reads as 800, have to OC the mem to get it to its working standard), tends to scare me as when changing fsb it will sometimes fully power-off and then restard with new settings a few seconds later, only 2 DDR2 slots, limited FSB support, and it only reads my multiplier clock up to 9 (cpu limited?).
- Other Thoughts: Get a good 2 x 2gb DDR2 1066 if you want this to be a more lasting board (at least until more mainstream 64-bit OSes permeate the market). Make sure you don't get a cpu with a higher FSB and then aren't able to reap the benefits. It might be more preferable for the normal user, whereas the gamer would do better to invest in a solid P45-based motherboard.
