5 out of 5 eggsI LOVE this MOBO!

Pros: This board is a micro, but when I built my system I found a nice ATX tower on the Daily Deals, so I put it in there. It fits great.

I bought this...let's see, next month will be 2 years ago...and it is still going strong. It works beautifully.

Cons: If I had to pick something...it's the fact that it's a micro and it has only a couple old PCI slots. I'm sure it won't matter in time, but at the time I built my system, I was using as many spare parts as I could to keep costs down.

Other Thoughts: I know it's outdated, but I wish it had just one AGP slot. I had an AGP tuner card given to me years ago and never got to use it, lol.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: Has all you need in a standard pc motherboard. Vista business installed easily and drivers didn't give me any problems, though I usually try to use the latest drivers from the web site after updating to the latest bios first on any fresh assembly.

Cons: Doesn't have every feature in the book, but the price more than makes up for that.

Other Thoughts: I used the board to house my old E6850 cpu when my wife's old computer died and got myself a new quad core cpu in the bargain. ;)

2 out of 5 eggsBoard was DOA

Pros: The replacement board has run good for 3 months now.

Cons: First board was DOA. Ethernet connection would not work. But thanks to newegg, it was replaced for free. Will I buy another Gigabyte mobo? Yes, if this one runs a few years.

Other Thoughts: This board has some solid capacitors, which should last longer. A big selling point for me.

4 out of 5 eggsdecent

Pros: very cheap
easy to OC (for me at least)

Cons: onboard sound....it sucks
it plays music, mp3s and things like that easily but for newer video games like juiced 2, it causes lag. i suggest a decent sound card

Other Thoughts: its micro, so not alot of pci slots which is ok for me

4 out of 5 eggssmall clean package

Pros: small form factor board with the basic needs of a system for standard user base

Cons: Nic drivers were a problem to get installed. The installation CD and the drivers on the website had continual issues with installation. I finally got it to work after removing everything in safemode and installing the most recent drivers

3 out of 5 eggsdriver install sub par

Pros: small, yet no problems with install.

Cons: The driver install on Vista was difficult. LAN drivers did not work, had to download drivers to a 2nd PC from GIGABYTE web site. GIGABYTE FTP sites were very slow.

Other Thoughts: Hardware wise all seems well. But the lack of attention to detail on the Vista drivers they ship worries me.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board this time

Pros: Good price for what it does.

Cons: The USB drivers didn't install the first time. The floppy disk cable was bad. That was fun trying to figure out. When you use the RAID, the drivers need to be on a floppy disk to be installed at the begining of the XP install. Vista users won't have this problem. I couln't get the video card to support the monitor native reslution of 1440 x 900 without the screen scrolling.

Other Thoughts: Running good so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGA-73VM-S2

Pros: cheap solid mb with overclocking ability and support for quad processor. i have run this mb stock and still could render audio/video multitrack recordings. i use this mb for both of my studio editing computers and have never had a problem.

Cons: no firewire on board.

Other Thoughts: can't be beat for the money.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall......Pretty Good

Pros: This is a very fast board considering that this board only has a single channel memory controller. At the moment I have 3 gigs of Patriot DDR2 800's in this and it runs really good. Seems faster then my Intel 945 chipset that had dual channel memory on it. I'm also running ATI's X1950GT Graphics card with no issues. And running the Core 2 Duo E6550 with the front side bus at 1333. So I pretty much maxed this thing out and it is holding up quite well. I'm very pleased.

Cons: There is only one complaint I have as with several others that have this board. If you use the SATA controller for a SATA Hard Drive, then you may notice that your LED for the hard drive may not blink when its processing information, hence the 4 star rating. So to get by that issue, I am using an EIDE hard drive and then I use a SATA DVD burner. Problem avoided, and I get my blinking light. :)

Other Thoughts: I would still recommend this board for anyone who is going to use an IDE hard drive. Not to bad Gigabyte, just wished that LED issue could be fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little Mobo

Pros: Quality product. Onboard Raid. Supports 45 nm processors (I put a E7200 and Overclocked it to 3.2 ghz stable with no voltage bump). On board video is decent for web surfing and minor to moderate video playback. Another great board from Gigabyte

Cons: Longer PCI-E card did cover my Sata plug. just moved my optical to a different port and all is good.

Other Thoughts: I needed a budget recording rig to run Xp 32 bit. I found this board to be a decent bang for the buck. I ended up buying a 8800gt cuz of all the heavy video playback I do. Otherwise, just an oustanding board.

E7200 at 3.2 ghz, Zalmann 9500, 2 x2 gigs PQI ddr 800, Lite On DVD optical, Gigabyte GA-73VM-S2, Seagate 250 GB HDD, NEC case with 585 watts psu, Xp 32 bit.

Couldn't be happier
