4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mobo

Pros: Nice board. The power saving function is nice. I've had the board for a few years and it runs great. I play game and popped in a Q6600 and 4GB of RAM with a 9600GT gcard. Everything works great. The hard drive connections are a plenty and overall I enjoy it... until I tried to upgrade

Cons: When I tried to put another 4GB RAM in the board I get stuck in a boot loop. I am not sure why, but it is frustrating. The only RAM on the approved list is max 1GB, but the board states it supports up to 8, so not sure why I can't pop in 4 2GB sticks.

Other Thoughts: Overall I love the board. I spent a little more at the time and think it was worth it. I wish I could figure out what is going on with the RAM and boot loop.

5 out of 5 eggsGigabyte Prevails

Pros: Passive Cooling here is the Clincher. I have had no need to OC as I am not a GAMER. No Stability Issues. Documentation and Support Website are easy to navigate. My First (And Only ) RMA on this was My FAULT. Sorry Newegg. My Goof-up. So I Owe you one or two. I will Keep the FAITH boys (And GIRLS!)

Cons: None So far in about 4 months

Other Thoughts: Lotsa Cables and Connectivity here. Great also if you are a Media Head. Especially Noteworthy are the External SATA Extender (Slot-Plugs) Complete with AUX power. About time we have seen these....

4 out of 5 eggsGreat when it worked

Pros: Good upgrade for the price. Not the latest technology, but fast none the less.

Cons: Primary PCI-E slot failed after 2 weeks. Had to send it back for replacement.

Other Thoughts: Newegg customer support is excellent. No hassles on return. Waiting for them to ship me the replacement.

4 out of 5 eggsDon't pair this with ballistix!

Pros: Dual BIos
Ez Overclock (a must for 1066 Ram)
Decent Web Support from Gigabyte (no phone support)

Cons: Do not run this mobo with Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AL1065 - Retail
I'm on my 3rd go around with crucial. This mobo does not like BL2KIT12864AL1065 aka BL12864AL1065. If you do buy and have problems, call crucial right away.

Other Thoughts: As started above, I've had trouble with ballsitix LED 1066Mhz RAM and this mobo. Crucial finally sent me a complete matched set which worked STELLAR for about 5 weeks and then, problems again. They are planning to RMA me again with some slower, more reliable RAM. The bigger issue is that while Crucial and gigabyte claim that these modules are tested and compatible, what they don' tell you is that if you mix and match batch #'s you will have trouble. For example Say you have one 2 modules from batch CL1118Y.GT and 2 more from batch CL1118Y.GX. Chances are, you'll have problems. The farther apart the batches are the worse it gets. In this case run only one batch, call crucial, and get the whole setup rma'd from the same batch.
All in all I'd say this is a fine mobo with clear instructions, however, PCIE slot #0 is very close to the DIMM2 banks, and PCIE slot #1 is right by the SATA ports. Therefore, consider where you place any graphics card carefully!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for its price

Pros: This is simply the best motherboard for its price, I has 8 Usb ports at the back, which means you will never ran out of usb ports. I have compared this mobo to the expensive 3vga ones, and the only difference I see is the 100 to 200 dollars in savings.

If you are into gaming(overclocking is great on this mobo, it even has it software for it), and are in a low budget situation, get this.

Worked right out of the box. (even on my first computer build)

Cons: Not that I can think off. Great mobo overall.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks Great Lack Luster

Pros: Great packaging. Great manual. The whole look and build and package was stellar! I was really impressed at first. Great performer!

Cons: Glitchy graphics settings: Sometimes sets my graphics card to operate at x1 rather than x16 when running a single card configuration. Reboots typically fix this.

Other Thoughts: Other system components:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
XFX 8800GT 512MB
4x 1GB OCZ DDR2 800 RAM
580W Mushkin Quad rail PSU

5 out of 5 eggsLove this board

Pros: This is a great board. It's a little more expensive than many boards of this type, but it has EVERYTHING you could need. I love that it's usable with so many types of processors and that it has tons and tons of ports. The low energy usage was a plus as I was building a powerfull, yet "Green" pc that doesn't consume quite as much power. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for a solid Mobo.

Cons: Not SLI compatible. It's Crossfire compatible however.

Other Thoughts: WHY ARE YOU WAITING?!

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: I'm now a convert, which I'm sure Gigabyte is glad to hear. For the last 7 or so builds and to all my friends I was "dyed in the wool" fanboy of another A*** brand product. For the record previously I purchased nothing but the highest high end boards that company had to offer. I must now admit I was paying way too much for a lot of hype and unnecessary problems. This was perhaps the easiest install I have ever experienced. Flat out booted with all the components and loaded Vista Ultimate with only one unrecognized device, which really shouldn't count as it's a non-mainstream firewire audio mixer/decoder with a non-signed driver.

PWM fan control on SYS_FAN2 YES!!! Seperate NB Fan header.

The BIOS control on this board is beyond what I was expecting for a mid-range board. With the correct components and a little luck of the draw with the CPU you get this board is capable of unleashing a monster overclocker at a very reasonable price.

Cons: As previously mentioned, some of the layout of the headers is in odd places, like the audio header... In most cases if you're going to use an audio header it's because you're looking to obtain front panel access so why is it buried at the very back of the board??? Minor annoyance compared to the positives though.

Only 1 PWM fan control header...

Other Thoughts: While I wouldn't push prime on air at this speed I did get my Q6700 up to 4.0ghz with a 1600 FSB, booted and ran stable for about 2 days before I backed it off to 3.2 which I did run prime on, stable. There's still room to go with water if your so inclined. Great board.

This board, Q6700, 2GB OCZ Reaper PC28500, Zalman 9700, OCZ 700W PS, 8 fans!

4 out of 5 eggsGood bang for the buck

Pros: This is a feature rich board without having too many bells and whistles. The manual is clear for basic functions. The driver install is the best that I have every used. No more loading one driver at a time. The sound on this board is way above average. This board is very easy to over-clock.

Cons: USB front headers are non-functioning. I have reloaded the drivers and flashed the BIOS, but still no luck. This is a nice to have for me but not worth the hassle of a RMA.

Other Thoughts: Q6600, EVGA 9800 GTX, OCZ Reaper, and this board work great together.
