4 out of 5 eggsHey, why not?

Pros: Cheap, simple to setup, and works with my Phenom 9600.

Cons: Only one PS/2 port, but my mouse is USB so it doesn't affect me anyways. Also, there are only two DDR2 slots.

Other Thoughts: The SATA2 connectors aren't blocked by my videocard, unlike my previous motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet little board

Pros: Had no problems setting up this little board all other hardware that I purchased at the time. HDMI connection is sweet. The onboard video is decent for regular use but not for gaming. That's pretty much a standard statement for any board that has onboard video.

Good board, sweet price.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Cheap, powerful, runs cool.

Cons: As stated in other reviews, HDMI is rather pointless because the built in graphics can not run BluRay.
DVI does not work, dont know if its because I use DVI to Dsub adapter or if its just a defect on my board.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte has never let me down, will continue to buy gigabyte for many years to come, My first gigabyte board (7vaxp ultra) is till ruining strong. the Asus and MSI boards I purchased around the same time both died after about a year.
not being able to play bluray and the dvi not working is not that big of a deal for me, i planed on buying new video card anyways.
and for the record, with the built in graphics, bioshock is unplayable even on low settings. my older radeon x1650pro 512mb played bioshock fine with medium/high settings, athlon 3200+ (singlecore)
Will write another review when I add video card and can run some tests

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: This is a solid MB. I've been running it 24/7 for over a month and it's rock solid stable. HDMI out on this was a big plus for the project this was used for.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Got this MB with an AM2 Athalon 64 x2 2.7GHz and 2 GB of PC6400 memory for my MythTV DVR project. Its been running 24/7 for over a month without a hitch.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for everyday use

Pros: Great little board. Will fit into just about anything, and even has Decent (not high-end of course) graphics on board. Has PCIE on the board so it can be upgraded and it is even fairly low on the power consumption! This is the perfect board for building out nice little starter systems.

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: I use these boards for building out systems for users that want a good reliable little system at a low cost. No big bells and whistles but still nice enough to warrant using on a regular basis.

5 out of 5 eggs2 MOBO and no problems yet

Pros: So far I have used two of these MOBO and have yet to find a fault. Microsoft eventually got their act together as far as Microsoft drivers for this MOBO. Used two different CPU's on the two different MOBOs I have bought.

Cons: None, Not a one

Other Thoughts: Will use this MOBO over and over again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Good solid inexpensive board.

Cons: As as FreeBSD 7.0 and 7.1 beta there is no support for the USB controller on this board. Also all but the latest betas of most Linux distributions don't support it either.

Other Thoughts: Onboard graphics chips provide plenty of processing power, but the difference in speed between current generation system memory, and current generation GPU memory is so great that onboard graphics aren't good for much.

3 out of 5 eggsDon't get this if you're trying to replace an old board running Windows 2000

Pros: No major defects or flaws (although I've been using for less than a couple of weeks so far). Reasonably priced. Aside from the W2K issue described below, the board setup and operation went pretty smoothly.

Cons: Specs claim Windows 2000 support. However, the integrated graphics card is an ATI 2100-series for which no driver for Windows 2000 exist. Installation of the drivers failed as a result and you're stuck in VGA mode.

I bought this to replace a dead mobo of a PC I have. It's an older unit that ran Windows 2000 with an assortment of hardware (PDA, MFU etc), of the vintage around that time period. I'm on a very tight budget and had no intention of buying XP or Vista, so one of the main reasons I bought this was because it said it supported Windows 2000. Turned out not to be quite accurate as described above. I ended up having to buy Vista, and am in the middle of going through a painful period of discovery about the lack of Vista drivers for some of the hardware I have (i.e. Canon Multipass F50 MFU that costed me $500 back then).

Other Thoughts: For those people having trouble booting up with the SATA drives: I had the same problem. In the BIOS, I specified boot order as my SATA drive first and then my PATA drive, but it kept booting with the PATA drive first. I ended up changing the order to my SATA drive, "Bootable Add-In Cards", and then my PATA drive. I had no "Bootable Add-In Card" but that didn't matter

4 out of 5 eggsNice Inexpensive Micro ATX MoBo

Pros: Compact board at a low price with an easy to understand installation manual, and enough slots for normal expansion card needs. Installed a Geforce KFA2 8500GT video card to replace the on-boad video. Installed an Athlon x2 5000 processor and 4 gigs of OCZ DDR2 RAM running at 800 Mhz, all in a CoolerMaster case with a 750 GB Hard Disk Drive

Cons: Neither the motherboard, nor the CoolerMaster case came with risers to install the MoBo into a case. I initially used some older risers that I had, but they weren't resistive enough, which caused the first MoBo to short out and not POST. I initially thought that there was a problem with the MoBo, and RMAed to NewEgg. The service that NewEgg provided was excellent, as I have come to expect. I received the new MoBo, and had the same problem. Deciding to do some detective work, a friend and I put together the computer internals outside of the case and got the thing working. We tried a different set of risers and all worked fine. I'm suprised that GigaByte doesn't include risers with this product. I only build a new system every 5 - 6 years, and in the past the motherboards that I ordered have come with mounting hardware.

Other Thoughts: Make sure that you have non-conductive risers to mount the motherboard in the case. This motherboard doesn't come with risers, and if you use am improper set of risers, the system will not POST.
This system will be used primarily for video storage and editing, and for running office applications and surfing the internet. I do not intend to play the latest games on this box, but even this $600 setup is much faster than my old Athlon 1700 box.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointment

Pros: Great features, great all in 1 package, no problem with install or setup, board worked great while it did.

Cons: Died in less than 2 months, issues turning on, it was intermittent. All a sudden, shut down and off for good. Swapped out multiple parts and got down to the mainboard being bad.

Other Thoughts: This is the second bad Gigabyte board in the last 3 months of two different builds, two different type of processor, two different homes. Whats going on? The quality control must be going downhill.
