Decent mobo
- Pros: *Great board for the price
*1333 FSB CPU and 1066 RAM support *Designed for OCing
- Cons: *No Firewire (but that's okay, I don't use it anyway)
*Kind of packed, worried that it might not fit a 92mm fan *Gigabyte sent me a defective one, RMA'ed, and got another one within a week
- Other Thoughts: Used this for my first PC build. Overall I'm satisfied with it, but I would rather have gotten a DS4.
Great board
- Pros: Great overclocking ability. overall well rounded board, especially when you consider the price.
- Cons: Prone to cracking if you press just right when installing that stubborn heatsink.
- Other Thoughts: Be careful when installing that new monster heatsink. The board tends to flex excessively resulting in stress cracks in the pathways. I had a friend that this happened to and they weren't covered by warranty becuase of it.
- Pros: This is a great all around motherboard. I used this for my first custom build and I have had absolutely zero problems. Really amazing to be honest. I was expecting at least some sort of trifle, but had none. Went into my case beautifully and easily and the layout was perfect for my other hardware. Plenty of room for lots of ram, 4 SATA plugs for extra storage, its great.
- Cons: Does not support FireWire and my case has an unused FireWire hub which disappoints me greatly, but I have firewire on my Mac so I don't miss it too much.
- Other Thoughts: I was building on a budget and this motherboard has really shined through and through. Currently running XP Pro, but considering Vista SP1 after I upgrade to 4gb RAM. I am confident this board will handle anything I throw at it. I definitely recommend to anyone like me who is building on a tight budget but still wants good quality parts.
