Gigabyte's GA-EP45-DS3L motherboard has been optimized to work with today's 45nm processors. This lets the board be more efficient. The board has dynamic 4 gear power switching. As your system needs more power it gets it and when the power load goes down, so does the supplied power. This lets you have power when you need it, and save energy and money when you don't.
CPU power isn't the only thing that is energy regulated. The Gigabit Ethernet connection tests the connection for length and signal strength and optimizes transmission power for the connection. To control it all you can use the newly redesigned Easy Tune 6 to fine tune all your settings.
System durability and security are as important as ever. Gigabyte's DualBIOS system has a second BIOS chip on the motherboard for quick and painless recovery from crashes and viruses. They also built the motherboard with all conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors for increased longevity and power efficiency.

Wrong info on newegg specs
- Pros: The board is very stable. No problems whatsoever when I installed it in my case. The size is just perfect not too big, but not too small. Very clean layout, and Solid capacitors. It's 4-phase. I updated the BIOS even though I didn't need it coz it was very easy to update... just install @BIOS and it will do it for you. All you have to do is wait for a few minutes.
- Cons: This product is listed as Dual LAN on New Egg's spec. Hopefully it gets fixed coz this only has single onboard LAN. I should've double checked on Gigabyte's website so I would've not been disappointed. One of the reasons why I bought this was coz I thought it had Dual LAN. Oh yeah and a minor nitpick is that the stickers on the RAM slots are too sticky. It fell apart when I tried to take it out. It took me a few minutes to get all the gunk and sticker residue off of the slots.
- Other Thoughts: Aside from the Dual LAN mess-up, I really love the board. It's just annoying that I ended up buying an additional network card just to get dual LAN. Also, the sytem overclocked my CPU to 374Mhz base to hit my Processor's speed (E8500) Just manually change the multiplier to 9 and +.5 (jut below the Multiplier option) and you should have the 333Mhz that the CPU should default as. Will OC this like crazy after the Artic Silver that I administered cures on the heatsink.
Very Nice and Affordable Board
- Pros: No BIOS issues. Mine came with F5. Flashed to F9. For some reason, QFlash did not see my USB key. I got a floppy drive sitting around. Plugged the floppy, copied the unzipped F9 files (there is a rudimentory flashing utility in the zip) to a floppy disk. Rebooted and got the BIOS flashed. This is a very overclockable board. You can adjust voltages for CPU, DRAM, chipset (FSB?). F9 recognize my E8400 correctly and set the FSB to 1333 by default, giving me 3 GHz (333 X 9 multipier). When I tried to run 1600MHz, it did not post. The BIOS automatically scaled back to default and went into Windows. I increased the CPU voltage from 1.25v to 1.30v and upped the chipset voltage slightly. The board booted up to 1600MHz (FSB) with CPU clocked to 3.6GHz (400 X 9) without any complaints.
- Cons: Not really a con, both the north and south bridges run pretty hot (~55C idle) at 1333MHz FSB speed. If you planning on OC, you will need a custom cooling solution for the bridges. I replaced the stock north bridge heat sink with a Thermaltake CL-C0034 fan and heatsimk, whick brought the temp. down to ~35C with load (Amazing!). I put a 40mm fan on top of the south bridge stoch heatsink. The heatsink became nice and cool.
- Other Thoughts: This is not a full size ATX board. It's somewhat narrower by a couple of inches. You only use 6 screws (vs 9) to hold it down to the case chassis. It's well built and well layed out. If you know you will never run 2 video cards, this is a very nice and OC'able P45 board.

- Pros: Meets all stated specifications and performs as it should.
- Cons: None
Awesome
- Pros: Fantastic and fast. My first Intel chip build. Painless.
- Cons: I'm shocked that I am actually running out of USB ports.
- Other Thoughts: The mobo will dynamically over and underclock to respond to better performance or for power saving. You can adjust the intensity at which it changes these settings. I accidentally change it too high and the machine became unstable (this is the same as overclocking a CPU). Find the right setting and enjoy.
Great mobo
- Pros: The board works! Great for OSx86...
- Cons: You may need to update the BIOS for it to recognize more recent processors properly, but it isn't a big deal to do and has fail-safes in place in case something screws up during the flash.
- Other Thoughts: This was my first LGA 775 processor install and it was nail biting at times, but nothing got broken and everything works!
My rig: E7300 C2D, 8GB of RAM (Maxed out), 2 x 640GB WD, Geforce 7900GS 256MB (need a better card someday...)
