Gigabyte's GA-EP45-DS3L motherboard has been optimized to work with today's 45nm processors. This lets the board be more efficient. The board has dynamic 4 gear power switching. As your system needs more power it gets it and when the power load goes down, so does the supplied power. This lets you have power when you need it, and save energy and money when you don't.
CPU power isn't the only thing that is energy regulated. The Gigabit Ethernet connection tests the connection for length and signal strength and optimizes transmission power for the connection. To control it all you can use the newly redesigned Easy Tune 6 to fine tune all your settings.
System durability and security are as important as ever. Gigabyte's DualBIOS system has a second BIOS chip on the motherboard for quick and painless recovery from crashes and viruses. They also built the motherboard with all conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors for increased longevity and power efficiency.

somethings wrong with this board
- Pros: Nice layout, good quality connectors, sturdy construction
- Cons: I could not get his board stable. It would reboot itself at least a couple of times at start-up, and totally freeze during games. I tried all the bios available based on other reviews that said it helped (F6, F7 and F8) none of them worked for me. I bought another (more expensive) motherboard, swapped it out - and the system is 100% stable (all other parts the same). I RMA'd it.
- Other Thoughts: I have had very good luck with Gigabyte boards until this one. When I was at "a store" to get a different board I noticed they only had one of these same boards their shelves and it was a customer return do to unstability ("a store" said they checked it out and deemed it okay). It was half price - but IMO totally not worth it.
Nice Mobo
- Pros: Up to 16GB of RAM, 8 USB ports with ability to have more, not a large board.
- Cons: No ESATA, Fire Wire, or second LAN interface if you require those.
- Other Thoughts: If this board fits your application it should work well. I put a Q6600, Zalman CNPS9700 LED, 8800GT, and 4GB of Mushkin 996587 in the box and all seems to be working fine. I eliminated a USB hub because of all the ports this thing has and have no need for Fire Wire or a second NIC so I am happy. I will probably stick 4GB more of the Mushkin in and see what this Q6600 will do.
The only quirk I have found is when I have a USB HDDVD drive plugged in the box will post and then reboot before windows starts over and over. If I plug in USB HDDVD drive after the box posts it is fine.

- Pros: Meets all stated specifications and performs as it should.
- Cons: None
Awesome
- Pros: Fantastic and fast. My first Intel chip build. Painless.
- Cons: I'm shocked that I am actually running out of USB ports.
- Other Thoughts: The mobo will dynamically over and underclock to respond to better performance or for power saving. You can adjust the intensity at which it changes these settings. I accidentally change it too high and the machine became unstable (this is the same as overclocking a CPU). Find the right setting and enjoy.
Great mobo
- Pros: The board works! Great for OSx86...
- Cons: You may need to update the BIOS for it to recognize more recent processors properly, but it isn't a big deal to do and has fail-safes in place in case something screws up during the flash.
- Other Thoughts: This was my first LGA 775 processor install and it was nail biting at times, but nothing got broken and everything works!
My rig: E7300 C2D, 8GB of RAM (Maxed out), 2 x 640GB WD, Geforce 7900GS 256MB (need a better card someday...)
