Gigabyte has long been a leader in energy-saving motherboards and their GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard continues the trend. This board features 6 gear power switching. As your system needs more power, it gets it, and when the power load goes down, so does the supplied power. This lets you have power when you need it, and save energy and money when you don't.

Based on Intel's P45 Express and ICH10R chipsets, this ATX board is ready to host the latest LGA775 Core 2 Extreme multi-core processors along with Core 2 quad-core, Core 2 Duo, Pentium D and Celeron CPUs. Up to 16GB of DDR2 1366+ can be installed providing increased performance. A pair of PCI-Express 2.0 x16 cards can be mounted for cutting-edge graphic power with support for CrossFireX.

System durability and security are as important as ever. Gigabyte's DualBIOS system has a second BIOS chip on the motherboard for quick and painless recovery from crashes and viruses. Count on Gigabyte's experience and innovation!

Cons: All four ram slots busted and I need to get a new one to replace... I thought it would last longer than 2 years

2 out of 5 eggsI know it's too late to sway anyone

Pros: This was a great board that did everything I wanted it to do or needed it to do while it worked.

Cons: Two years into the three year warranty the board failed and after a dozen attempts to contact their support to get an RMA, I have given up with the decision to NEVER buy a gigabyte product again. Again, this was a great board while it worked, but if gigabyte won't support their products, then I'll take my money elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte support is non-existent.

1 out of 5 eggsUltimate Junk

Pros: Has all the features you could ever want from a socket 775

Cons: Within first 6 mo. both onboard NIC's died. Shortly after a year, onboard audio died.

Other Thoughts: I wish I had other options for my old C2Q at the time. Never again will I buy Gigabyte, I will stick with Intel and Asus boards from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsTo bad it's discontinued

Pros: Rock solid except one little thing (see other thoughts). Setup was easy. Plenty of USB ports, IDE ports and, well, read the details, it's loaded. I've had this over a year and love it.

Cons: After about a year the second network adapter and 1394 stopped working. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: After about a year of using this the second network adapter and firewire ports stopped working. I have a dual boot and they were out in both OS's. I was about to RMA it when I thought I'd just try a BIOS flash, nut'n to loose. I went with the FFb (beta) update and after I was finished everything was working again.
I've read a lot of reviews on other sites of dual channel mem not working as well as other problems, but my board works fine and I'm happy to give it a 5 egg review.

4 out of 5 eggsGood motherboard overall

Pros: Compatibility with PS2 mouse and keyboard. Makes the system safer
Plenty of slots for SATA disks and cards. Floppy disk slot avalaible. It is good, I had to use floppies to install FreeBSD.

Cons: Missing the 2 IDE ports. No parallel and serial port. I need adapters USB -> serial. Windows XP is very hard to install on such a hardware (but doable)
