1 out of 5 eggsjunk

Pros: Sounds like it should be a good board by the specs

Cons: Started rebooting on it's own after few months of working.

Sent to RMA 3 times with shipping cost on my expense and it's still bad. Worked for few months after last RMA and now it's out of warranty.

No idea what Gigabyte did every time i sent it, i got the same board back, same serial #, same issue.

Other Thoughts: No more Gigabyte boards for me just because they can't stand by their guarantee

5 out of 5 eggsOne excellent Mobo

Pros: Low maintenance
High performance
Port selection

Cons: Stock video may not be powerful enough for high end gaming or high level graphics.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this mobo as the basis for a game PC that I built in 2009. Now, 2012, this board is still performing with Quad core Q9650, an nVidia GTX-460, 4G ram in a Thermal Take lan box lite case and 900W power supply.
Best mobo I have ever used.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent HTPC Board

Pros: Capable board, with enough power to play HD without problem. No heat issues (stock clocks, 65w CPU, Antec Fusion case). HDMI works well.

Cons: Lousy graphics drivers. Included Nvidia drivers work fairly well enough, though updates screw up sound and resolution for my 09 Bravia. This is a problem because I built this HTPC for long term use--barring a change in Nvidia's support habits, I'm worried about upgrading TVs in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGigabyte vs ASUS in Ubuntu

Pros: - BIOS Menu easy to navigate
- Recognized all drives immediately
- No updated needed initially
- Clocked FSB and RAM automatically at the proper speeds (with normal settings, over-clocking still possible)
- Nice looking board

Cons: Only con I can think of is the header connections. ASUS provides an easy connection adapter, but this really isn't a con. Gigabyte has a nice color code and labeling aspect that made it easy to connect everything.

Other Thoughts: I previously purchased the ASUS P57M mATX. Had to update the BIOS off-the-bat, and still gave PCI BIOS bug errors in the Grub loader. Gigabyte is a sure fire choice for any Linux user. Only problem I'm having at the moment is getting the PCI Wireless adapter to work, but that's more of a ndiswrapper issue. Perfect mobo for me!

4 out of 5 eggsHot HTPC

Pros: -Dual Bios
-Built in Nvidia 9400 graphics
-Plenty of input connectors

Cons: -Runs Hot! - Had to find the right cpu cooler, using Zalman 8700
-Not enough fan connectors

Other Thoughts: North-bridge would over heat in my case - Installed Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II - Helped a little, at least it doesn't over heat anymore...

5 out of 5 eggsMy first Gigabyte board <3 <3

Pros: Great MythTV frontend or backend!

Cons: Every once in a blue moon it won't come back from S3 standby then won't post. I have to physically pull the power cord. Not sure what's up with that. I think it's a Linux/driver issue not the board. Just haven't troubleshot it yet.

Other Thoughts: I saw others had issues with the NB heatsink not sitting right and overheating. Here's the deal... if you're using a stock Intel HSF be very careful how you orient it. If it looks like the plastic from the HSF is touching the NB remove the HSF and rotate 90 degrees until you find the side that clears the NB heatsink. *** If you push the CPU HSF lock-pins down and the CPU HSF is not oriented correctly you will dislodge the NB heatsink!! *** Do not touch the NB. Do not pickup the board by the NB. Do not push on it to see how sturdy the heatsink is. First time the NB gets hot the thermal pad will turn into glue and hold it down. Follow these instructions and I'm betting you'll sail easy. :-)

1 out of 5 eggsNVIDIA Heat Failure?

Pros: Great board as the foundation of an HTPC. Got Ubuntu running happily, including HDMI video/audio. Wish it still worked.

Cons: After several weeks of use, on a reboot the initial screen appeared scrambled and the PC hung. A subsequent cold boot resulted in no boot display, and a long and short beep from the speaker ("memory or MB error"). The RAM tested fine in another PC; I'm guessing that the NVidia chipset failed due to overheating (known weakness), and subsequently caused the CPU to fail. The system died on the day the RMA expired; we'll see if Newegg customer service will flex a bit.

Other Thoughts: Love the package; works well in limited space. Apparently the Intel Mt Jade spec case is unable to deliver adequate airflow past the NVidia 9400 chipset heatsink. I blame NVidia for the heat problem, and Gigabyte for putting a marginal cooling solution on a micro-ATX board that is ideally suited (and presumably intended) for small-form-factor cases.

5 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H

Pros: Absolutely fantastic motherboard. Onboard digital, hybrid SLI, and onboard 9400 handles all HD content I throw at it. Have two of these boards, one on my 50" samsung plasma and the other paired with two 22" 1080p samsung LCDs

Cons: to the guy who said that it won't work with your 52" samsung, you are out of your league. i have run 1080p content via DVI and HDMI with zero problems. i am almost embarrassed for you but then i realized that i'd be pitying a nub.

Other Thoughts: Perfect for a HTPC/media computer. One is equipped with the Q9450 and 8gb memory; and the htpc is equipped with the E6300 and 4gb memory. BluRay, HDDVD, H264, and 5.1 ALL DAY!

1 out of 5 eggsNvidia 9400 SUCKS

Pros: Specs rock and it SHOULD run 1080p video smoothly.

Cons: I bought this for the onboard video. Nvidia makes the WORST drivers on this planet. The 9400 does not dispay 720p/1080p resolutions correctly on my 52" Samsung. Nvidia seems to think over/underscan is an adjustment to resolution which completely jacks up everything. READ THE FORUMS BEFORE BUYING THIS. NVIDIA CAN'T SEEM TO FIX THEIR PROBLEMS

3 out of 5 eggsgood mobo, but some ports defective

Pros: Stable, good motherboard, on-board components are well-placed.. Not much to complain about, except......

Cons: The keyboard ps/2 port didn't work, and the IDE port doesn't work.. so much for my old optical drive..

Other Thoughts: I didn't feel like taking the effort to disassemble everything, RMA the mobo to newegg, and be without a PC for 2 weeks, so I bought a PS/2 to usb adapter and a SATA optical drive.. That really sucks, gigabyte.. Take better care when assembling and testing your motherboards.
