solid
- Pros: soild, easy setup and over clocking
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: for single gpu
Best MB I've owned
- Pros: This MB was so easy to set-up and had no issues at all upon initial install. No drivers needed any updating. I love the Smart6 program that quickens up your boot process and will even over-clock your system if you like. I bought this in a package with an i7 860 and OCZ 4gb pc1600 memory.
- Cons: My DVD-RW drive had trouble being recognized, but I believe it is due to the firmware on the drive itself as it is still IDE.
- Other Thoughts: Best and easiest experience I've had when building a new system. Software that comes with it is very helpful and user friendly. Will buy Gigabyte again.
Dreadful BIOS issues
- Pros: When it's working, runs well, has a plethora of BIOS options, is a good overclocker, has solid features, and is priced reasonably.
- Cons: The shipping F2 BIOS has blatant memory issues that cause the motherboard to not POST when memory is installed in Channel A. Instead of throwing a memory error, the stupid motherboard throws a power error of fast continuous beeps. If it wasn't for Ken's review, I would still be troubleshooting. After installing the memory into Channel B, I got the board up and running, installed Windows, and then updated the firmware to F3n. Channel A seems to be taking the memory just fine now. I was using 2 x 2GB Gskill 1333Mhz standard DDR3, stock volts.
- Other Thoughts: I like the board, and I like Gigabyte...but what a freaking headache...
