5 out of 5 eggsThree years strong

Pros: Easy to use BIOS, Lots of settings

Cons: PCI-E 1x is under the video card... Inaccessible

Other Thoughts: I've had this motherboard for three years now along with an i5-750 2.66 Ghz. It's currently OC'd 20x160 to 3.2Ghz. I had to recently downclock due to heat issues and the motherboard let me do it easily. Replaced Heat sink with Zalman 9900S and idles at 34c now.

I would recommend this board to anyone who wants a small profile motherboard with lots of abilities, but as it's 1156, it's quite useless to suggest any more.

1 out of 5 eggsno support

Pros: None it no longer boots.

The Motherboard worked fine for about sixty days. Then the slow insidious hard to figure memory problems began.

According to the all knowing Web this is a "know issue" with this board, something with the CPU slot/lock in watchamakallit.

I tried phone support when problems first started, I never got a human. For all I know Skynet is running the place.

Cons: It slowly decided half my RAM didn't exist, then none of my RAM existed. Then it would not even boot to the BIOS.

Trying to get through to GIGABYTE is next to impossible. I am outside 30 days from purchase so Newegg is no help.

I posted a RMA request on GIGABYTEs support site 48 hours ago. I have not received any kind of response. No automated out of office, no we received your request automated reply; nothing. It is actually impossible to tell if anything is getting through to them.

Other Thoughts: Countless hours wasted troubleshooting this problem. No support. 2-3 week RMA process according to the GIGABYTE website, plus the time it takes them to get back to you to start the process.

Try a different brand, they might have support.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat deal

Pros: easy overclocking, good board layout. p55 with 8x/8x pci-ex. fits great in antec 300 and GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD4. two would even fit nicely...

Cons: had to update bios to get win7 64bit to load with 5850 graphics card. easily updated with a flash drive, and booted up right away.

Other Thoughts: a bios update can be expected sometimes, so only really a con due to those few minutes of "oh man this better work"

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for Gaming System

Pros: I used this for the basis of my new gaming PC. Plenty of connections. There are 2 Sata controllers so you can set your optical drives to "ide mode" for ease of setup and your hard drives to "AHCI" for speed. The best of both worlds when installing Windows 7.

Cons: Couldn't OC my i5 at all until I disabled "turbo mode" in the bios. Not sure why as others have been able to do mild OC's with it enabled. In the end, I did get my i5 up to 3.36Ghz at stock voltage (21*160).

Other Thoughts: Had to flash the bios up to current but I expect that with any MB. Using a X25-M as a boot drive and getting advertised speed from it so the Sata controllers must be solid. No glitches or problems after 1 month of use.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's the future of computing

Pros: This is a nice board. I used this with a core i5 (750)2.66 quad, & Kingston Hyper X ddr3 2000mhz ram. It all works perfectly.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have never had any problem with Gigabyte or kingston. They are both rock solid. I would recommend this product, and Newegg to a friend.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great board, lots of features, the 8 USB ports on the back help a lot for my needs. Audio had no problems, I'm no audiophile so I can't comment how great they are.

Cons: Flash your BIOS when you get it, otherwise you may run into problems. Mine was that windows 7 would not boot.

Other Thoughts: I only list the things I've encountered, I won't comment on things I didn't use or didn't notice.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Good Quality

Pros: Solid construction and component placement. Had no problems with my setup, completely stable at stock after firmware update. Chipset heatsinks runs cool to the touch. Good clearance for after market heatsinks. Plenty of memory and cpu tweaks in the BIOS. Came with a printed manual that is well written (had a XFX mobo that came with quick start guide only, so this is a plus). Extra SATA and IDE cables a plus also.

Cons: Out of the box, required a firmware upgrade before my system was completely stable. BIOS menu has almost no fan control options. One smart control over the CPU fan (no manual control), and none for the case fans even though they were 4pin connectors.

Other Thoughts: Base specs using Core i7-860, Corsair XMS3 2x2GB CMX4GX3M2A1600C9, Win7 Pro 64-bit, MSI GeForce 9600GT. No compatibility problems.

5 out of 5 eggsCorrection to someones review

Pros: One review states that this board is a cheap foxconn board with a Gigabyte logo and box. Foxconn makes many parts found in electronics such as the LGA socket found on the board which of course has a Foxconn logo on it.

Cons: above

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid This Board

Pros: Pretty Board with lots of promise.

Cons: Doesn't play well with memory. Has a rough time with recognizing SATA-II drives. BIOS is constantly resetting itself so you have to go in and redo your settings just to be able to boot. Like a really bad girlfriend, it requires constant attention. It is a PITA.

Other Thoughts: I'm sending this back and getting another brand of board.
I like Gigabyte Usually but this board fails miserably.
