5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: First of all, I was a little nervous about all of the reviews saying it came DOA.

-came in great working condition
-lots of USB ports
-easy to follow instructions
-love the gigabyte features:
-backup bios
-separate fuse for each USB
-high quality
-high tech for it's time (compare to other mobos)

Cons: Not really anything...
Many people have it DOA sounds like but they would replace it so... I guess that would just be a delay if anything

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte has a lot of cool features in their motherboards. I got an ASUS this time around because there are not any good Gigabyte mobos for my new CPU's socket.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing MoBo

Pros: Beautiful MoBo, great features.

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: Bought this board a while back to eventually replace my aging AMD system. Finally bought the remaining parts, put everything together and got nothing. Attached a speaker and got video error beep code. Tried another video card, no change. Tried another power supply, no change. Memory works fine in another system. Board behaves like no video card is installed. Very disappointing to have a board not work from the start.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks good but no LAN and crashes

Pros: Looks good, installs easily

Cons: Constant blue screens, no lan after hybernate

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board with the Core i5 760 and G. Skill ram as many before me ran without problems. Well it ran great for about 2 weeks then I noticed constant blue screens using Win 7 pro 64 bit. Reinstall OS a few times still same blue screens and of course I have no lan after it wakes up from hybernation. I have to shut the power off and let it sit and then power it back on to get LAN back. This is the second Gigabyte board that has done this. I guess Asus is what I will be using for my next build.

4 out of 5 eggsA decent mobo

Pros: - No problems so far
- Easy to Overclock
- Nice bang for the buck

Cons: - No SLI support (Crossfire is not worth trying on this mobo because of PCI performance cuts) << Not so important for me
- PCI-E x16 slots working at 8x - My video card is working at a half of it's real performance << -1 Egg

Other Thoughts: To future proof your investment, you're better off with a better mobo. But if you're on a tight budget, I highly recommend puchasing this.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly satisfied

Pros: Reliable, stable mobo, with great performance for the cost - especially since I bought it as part of a discounted package with an i5 760, and got a mail in rebate with it.

Performance is exactly what I expected, and all of the onboard components are supported in my OS of choice. Everything is well placed on the board, and there is room for a large aftermarket cooler if you're ram doesn't protrude much (no ripjaws if you want a huge cooler!)

Due to ethernet issue mentioned in cons, I leave my computer on for a month or two at a time sometimes, and no issues as a result.

Cons: I dropped an egg due to onboard ethernet not working after restarting the computer unless I switch off my power supply for a few seconds. Last bios update was over a year ago, so I doubt this will be fixed.

I also wasn't aware that using usb 3/sata3 dropped the pci express speed to 8x. No egg loss for me here, as I'm not a gamer, and this limitation is posted on Gigabytes website - but as a result I wouldn't recommend this for a gaming rig if you want the most out of your hard drive/video performance.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Gigabyte motherboard. The specs are great for the price I paid, but the ethernet issue makes it feel like the low price came at a cost. I think if I were looking for a new motherboard today, I'd be willing to pay a bit extra to get one that has a more reliable reputation.

1 out of 5 eggsWas never stable, now dead

Pros: It fits the ATX form factor.

Cons: I've had nothing but trouble with this board. It's burned out 3 video cards now due to a defective PCI-E slot.

Card 1 died, I thought it was a bum video card so I replaced it.
Card 2 died I thought it was a bum power supply, replaced both. Card 3 died and now I'm fuming.

Took it to the local shop (luckily I know the owner so they do me free service). They properly diagnosed the issue. Defective PCI-E slot.

Read down a bit, you can see this board has shocking quality issues. I don't know if it's bad design, bad manufacturing practices, poor quality control, or a combination of the three. But it doesn't matter, the proof is in the product.

It's safe to say, I can't trust Gigabyte with my expensive peripherals moving forward.

2 out of 5 eggsWas great until integrated ethernet died

Pros: I had no problem, everything worked just fine at first.

Cons: A couple days ago the integrated ethernet stopped working. I've tried a couple different operating systems and it doesn't even show up in any of them. It's still enabled in the bios, but the actual hardware appears to have completely died. I'm very disappointed, as I thought this was going to be a good product, but there seem to be a lot of other people with similar problems.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great for a while...

Pros: Easy setup, BIOS is easy to navigate, RAID is easy to configure.

Cons: Worked great for about four months - since then I have had consistently degraded operation. First the XHD RAID functions on it stopped working. The RAID split and the drives lost their parity and most of the data became corrupted. After struggling with it for a while I was only able to get the system to boot by switching it back to a non-raid IDE default setup.

After two months of that it will no longer recognize the SATA drives on startup. It will after a dozen or so restarts. SATA functions as a whole appear to have broken down, possibly the SATA controller? The SATA cd/dvd drive will intermittently fail, now it's almost 100% down, which means loading from DVD/CD is impossible.

I've gone through and disabled any non-necessary features but it does not resolve the issue.

Very disappointed as Gigabyte is usually better than this.

Other Thoughts: It looks like several others have had near the exact same issue.

1 out of 5 eggsIntel RAID controller dying. Do not buy!

Pros: Was great while it worked.

Cons: I've had this board for less than a year. The Intel RAID Controller started flaking out on me about 2 months ago.

I have two drives in RAID 1, and they would start to consistently enter a degraded state, then rebuild, run ok for a few weeks, then repeat.

There was no consistency to the problem -- sometimes it happened after waking the computer from sleep, other times while actively using the drives, other times while not writing or reading anything to the drives at all.

Made sure I was running the latest Intel RST, checked for new drive firmware and even tried two new Samsung drives with exactly the same result.

Gigabyte support told me to try the Marvell controller (why would I want to use an inferior controller on the board??) and finally told me to send the board in for an RMA.

They refused to send me a replacement board first, and I refuse to be without a working computer for a month while they "investigate" the problem.

Will not buy Gigabyte again.

1 out of 5 eggsworked for 2 months

Pros: When it worked, it worked great

Cons: Died after 2 months, no post, no video, not beeps.... tested every other component and the board is definitely bad. Must be a bad batch as other recent reviews state the same problem.
