4 out of 5 eggsClose but not perfect.

Pros: Great motherboard for the price. Was cheaper then a comparable ASUS mobo + this one came with the water blocks. Tons of features, very easy to use, and very stable.

Cons: One major concern about this design I think is stupid, is the water block isnt directly mounted to the north bridge for optimal cooling.... No its attached to the northbridge via metal fins... Yeah it makes a difference in cooling. On idle, the northbridge is at 43'C while my video card is at 27'C from being cooled by the same liquid cooling system. But the mobo is still stable, doesnt get much hotter then 50'C running a full load on the system, so Im still happy.

Other Thoughts: I have yet to overclock this system to its full potential, but some of the minor overclocking I've done has been very nice and easy.

Current Rig:
CPU: Intel Core i7-930 2.8Ghz
RAM: G.SKILL PI+Turbulence 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3 2200
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7
Video: ATI Radeon HD 5970 (Hemlock) 2GB GDDR5
System Drive: Crucial RealSSD C300 128GB SATA III MLC (SSD)
Games Drive: WD VelociRaptor 600GB 10000RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
Storage Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
PSU: BFG Tech EX-1200 1200W
Case: SILVERSTONE TJ09-BW Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard, make sure you update drivers.

Pros: This motherboard is awesome. It handles everything I throw at it and has tons of features. Everything works great after driver install.

Worked for basic functions out of the box.

Cons: You will need to update lots of drivers. I haven't had to flash my bios but I did need to install a whole load of drivers before most of the extra functions would work beyond just running the computer.

Not worth an egg but it was a minor annoyance for few things.

Other Thoughts: If your USB3.0, SATA/eSATA ports or raid controller is acting up you probably just need drivers. Every time something hasn't worked for me a driver has fixed it. Gigabyte's website makes it easy to find them.

They also have SATA controller drivers for pre-OS install.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: The motherboard has performed flawlessly. It's very heavy which usually gives me additional confidence in the product, and the weight here is clearly well used. Simple over clocking is very easy and you can go as custom as you want. Feature list is second to none. I would have loved to give this a 5 egg rating but....

Cons: There aren't two usable 1x PciE slots as far as I'm concerned. Even without over clocking I didn't feel comfortable without using one of the two cooling options for the board. The water block leaves one port fully available and the other port crowded except for the smaller cards. With the air cooler, one port is completely blocked and the other is crowded. Still, they managed to cram a lot into a fixed space.

Other Thoughts: The board shipped was version 2.0 when the picture was of version 1.0. Some people prefered the old board, but I was ok with either and actually liked the 2.0 tweaks. If multiple versions are available, make sure to contact newegg. They can usually let you know the current revision shipping. Great service overall, but don't always trust the pictures to be the absolute latest.

1 out of 5 eggsGood for a week

Pros: Great while it lasted.

Cons: Worked great for a week then I started having problems with shutdowns and the BIOS wouldn't POST and this is without overclocking. The CMOS button is useless. I had to remove the battery. Keeps telling me I am overclocking when my memory and CPU are underclocked. I try to go into the BIOS and it keeps freezing. I switched from an EVGA X58 for the features of this board and I all I get is a big mess. I am assuming something failed on the board after a week.

Other Thoughts: First Gigabyte board and unfortunately I have to RMA it. Tested it for a week before I sent in the rebate. Figures. Hopefully, Gibabyte will send me back a working board, but from other reviews here I am not so confident.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board - It Works with OCZ Revo X2

Pros: Great board. I spent a ton of time trying to figure out if this board would work for Boot to PCI-E and if the OCZ Revo X2 240 Gig card would work as the System Drive I gambled and it worked... I just wanted someone to save some time YES It works

If you have mobo Revision 1 Update bios to F8G
If you have Mobo Revision 2 Update Bios to FC

Install OCZ card in bottom PCI-E Slot (Bottom Blue Slot)

SYSTEM:
Monitor 1 - Dell UltraSharp U3011 30"
Monitor 2 - 24" Dell UltraSharp Monitor
Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition Nehalem 3.46GHz
Kingston HyperX 24GB DDR3 1600 PC3 12800
CORSAIR Hydro H70 Cooler ( I Love this thing)
Antec TruePower Quattro Series TPQ-1200 Power Supply (Make sure your case has plenty of room even though it's modular there are a ton of cables that are not)
LG Blueray Burner & HP DL DVD Burner
Qty 2 VelociRaptor 600GB SATA 6.0Gb/s in Raid 0
Qty 2 Western Digital RE4 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s For Storage drives (Non Raid)

Cons: Flawless install of everything - Sure would have liked more than 2 of the SATA 6Gb/s slots really put a limit on my storage drives but there are a ton of 3Gb/s slots.

Maybe next time they will put 8 SATA 6Gb/s slots and 2 of the slower ones Oh Well everything else is Gerat.

Other Thoughts: Installing the OCZ Revo X2 240gig PCI Solid State drive in this motherboard.
1: Download the Drivers from OCZ web (32bit or 64bit what ever you need) unzip them to a USB drive or Burn to CD
2: Download most current Bios Update and install (if you already have it then continue.
3: Start Computer Set Bios to boot to CD first (Default is Hard Drive the Set to boot to hard drive 2nd) Restart
4: (Make sure no other drives are plugged in) Start computer when you see drive options screen (if oyu have a USB it will be the only thing that shows up it's ok! Click Browse then locate the OCZ drivers on USB or CD then choose a driver (I chose top one) when drivers are done installing it will show up as a drive you can install windows on
5: At this point continue windows install as you would any other drive (if you have a decent Cd or DVD rom install will take maybe 8 minutes)
Very fast I love this motherboard it's cool looking and works perfectly!!! & got to love Newegg for fast shipping

4 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: I find the board is well made and it does have lots of options. The board POSTed the firt time and basic setup went well. I have been running the board for the last 2 weeks without any problems.

Cons: The Marvell 9128 GSATA ports have problems setting up for RAID systems, and in none Raid using SATA 6.0 b/s Seagate Barracuda 2TB drive with 64 meg cache at 7200 RPM, I find no real speed boost. The manual setup intructions are confusing at the least. Tech support is clueless, answered after one week, and told me board didn't support drives over 2 TB. I think in RAID 0 two 2TB drives are still viewed as 2TB. Still trying to tweek this system to get better speed with mechanical drive intill SSD's come down in price and up in size. Gigabyte needs better manuals or tech support. Love the boards but need to get better with the latter. Any thoughts on setting up a good RAID system that has good speed with this board I will say Thank You.

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if a BIOS upgrade could be made to allow the support of the 3TB drives. Gigabyte also has to stop automatic installation of programs from the motherboard setup disks that don't work with newer 64 bit O/S and alsoo the games that get slid in too. Now to deal with the recall of the LGA 1155 system I just built

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: This is the board to have if you want to get the most out of your other components. They have a program called smart6 which lets you easily overclock you processor. You can be a expert or even a beginner to use smart6. Tons of sata connections, a good amount of usb also. If you feel like testing it out and you are to lazy to push the power button on the case, they have a power button on the board. They also have a little debug mode just to make sure your PC wont go haywire. I can go on and on about this board but its definitely worth the purchase. It will even be compatible with the new 32nm processors that will be coming out soon. Oh and they don't say it on here but if you do plan on purchasing it you will get revision 2.0

Cons: Very little cons for me. First would have to be the price, its a steep price but hey you get what you pay for. Most people have older USB cables well it seems if you put it in the USB 3.0 slot the system will not recognize it. The sata ports lay under where the video card goes and for people who build gaming PCs that could cause a problem.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great board to have and it will last you for a long time. That's the reason I bought this cause every couple of years I went to a new board and it was adding up in the end. Make sure you know what you are doing with this expensive board cause if you slip up its going to hurt your pocket and you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board!

Pros: Great Board, tons of SATA connectors! I love the LED's placed throughout the board for quick temperature readouts of all major mobo components. Stock heat sink is easily removed! I replaced it with a full HK waterblock! (FYI, if you do use the HK water block don't use the standoffs that come with it. My northbridge temps were crazy high until I removed the board and removed standoffs!) The provide PCI slot bracket with 2 eSATA and molex connector, and provide cables are great for easy data migration! Very stable board with F7 bios!

Cons: for the price of the board I think they could've provided a bit better of a water cooling solution then they did!

Other Thoughts: Some people hate the color of Gigabyte's boards, I think it makes a blue PC scheme much easier!

3 out of 5 eggsI dont know about this one...

Pros: it comes with alot of software designed to manipulate memory/CPU

Cons: Clear CMOS button on back is weird.
Bad memory slot
only 2 6gb/s sata controllers, not easily defined

Other Thoughts: Ordinarily, I wont write reviews. Most of the people have it right on here, But I feel its necessary to say something because the problem, although big, is not enough to RMA.

Ater building, I kept getting memory BSOD. It took awhile to find out that the #6 slot was bad. so instead of 12gb of memory, I only have 10. plus an extra stick of ram that I cant use.
