4 out of 5 eggsGood overall

Pros: Good board, sturdy for the most part, easy overclocking tools in the BIOS for anyone that does that, seems to be solid, and is still running real well and i've had it since april of 2010

Cons: Reason I gave it 4 eggs is because 2 of my sata ports on the inside stopped working within the first year. There are 6 of them so it isn't a big deal really, but I would hope they wouldn't have gone bad so soon. I found out because my dvd drive stopped working so i ordered another, and it didn't work when plugged into the same sata port, changed to the port group next to it, and both worked fine

Other Thoughts: Good board overall, if i weren't ever planning on upgrading, i would definitely purchase it again

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: No problems whatsoever so far

Cons: Best motherboard i have owned so far :)

Other Thoughts: I have treated this board badly and its still going strong as a really well made motherboard should. I saw the MB comments and thought what a load of cr** a few people have written i better put my two cents worth in.

Now back to upgrading the peripherals. :) mmm SSD

Pros: Worked fine for 9 months. Looks nice.

Cons: After 9 months, the computer started to randomly spin up all fans and reboot. After reboot would usually be fine for the rest of the day. Upgraded to a Phenom II X6, worked for 2 days and started the same problem. Then deteriorated into BSOD and now wont boot at all. I've replaced ram and power supply, now it's either Mobo or GPU's. Pretty sure it's mobo from reading similar accounts on here.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Great features, Good on board components, solid, problem free so far.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have had several Gigabyte Mobo's and have had very, very few problems with them. I've considered other motherboards, and have used some others in other builds for friends or family. It seems like I have less problems with Gigabyte and Asus than any other. I don't see a reason to switch from something that works.

1 out of 5 eggsGA-790XTA-nonUD4

Pros: Nice board, USB3.0 and SATA III.

Cons: I bought this board from NE but never have time to put a system together until my 30 days expired. I realize the board isn't working out of the brand new box, installing windows 7 Ultimate x64 took as much as 3 hours...not so bad...After installation complete the machine won't boot pass the windows initialize screen, never able to get to the login screen then went to BSOD.

Okay, so I suspect there's bad RAM. I replaced with the Corsair Memory which shown in the Gigabyte support list, again....this hellmary went BSOD after a long installing windows 7. So I tried 32bit installation...same result, contacted Gigabyte's support. No solutions, I ended scrap the brand new board and pay for the ASUS board.

Other Thoughts: How could Gigabyte putting the UD4 part of the board's name when this thing is a total piece of cr@p. Not reliable to be "Ultra Durable". I will never trust the Gigabyte brand anymore.....Asus is actually the real deal in motherboard industry. I also thanks NE for their best support and there's nothing they can do against their return policy.

2 out of 5 eggsMore start up problems with this board!!

Pros: Showed lots of promise.

Cons: I bought this mobo in April 2010 and it looked promising until I started having boot problems. Often, it will look like my system is coming out of sleep since the lights come on, as do the fans, etc. But in less than a second it dies! Then I have to flip the switch on the back of my PSU and leave it "off" for ~ 10 seconds before I flip it to "on" and can boot up normally. This also occurs on cold boots!

I recently swapped out the PSU thinking that was the problem but had no luck. Gigabyte, if you are reading this we expect better of you! I certainly hope you will step up to the plate and replace this mobo, and not with a refurbished unit as this is just inheriting someone else's problems!

Other Thoughts: As you can see, other Newegg customers have had this exact problem so it appears to be a design flaw! A replacement with a NEW revised board should be made for this defective model!

Also, if I get a response from Gigabyte I hope I do not get the standard copy and paste response that everyone else has received.

5 out of 5 eggsGA-790XTA-UD4

Pros: Works great. I liked so much that I bought the second one to build HTPC machine. It's been 12 months since the first one was built which has been running 10 hours a day everyday. The second one(HTPC machine) has been running since 10/2010. This one has to run with the sleep mode disabled to do internet TV recording scheduled for overnight period.

Cons: If you want to use non-stock cpu heatsink and RAM sticks with heatsinks, then the RAM sticks for the slot #1 and #2 may have to be installed before the cpu is installed.
I sometimes had difficulty to communicate with the tech support reps which seemingly due to language barrier.

3 out of 5 eggsOh No!

Pros: Beautiful board, worked great right out of the box, until...

Cons: This is my wife's home business computer, 9 months old, first it appears a pci slot went bad, wifi card quit. I bought a usb wireless card that worked until she lost that, too. I switched to another usb slot, seemed to work fine. NOW, we have a dead SATA array, said something about IEE error, and it only finds serial ATA drive.

Other Thoughts: After reading other reviews it appears that this board has major failures after eight to ten months of use, I have written to gigabyte and not getting any replies yet.

3 out of 5 eggsWhere to now?

Pros: Beautiful board, that has run solid since 4/9/10.

Cons: SATA just took a dump! Wife got up to IEE missing, upon restart says SATA offline, I have four drives, 3 being SATA, only finds serial ATA. I hope To get support from gigabyte quickly!

5 out of 5 eggsNo serious issues

Pros: For the price, it has some excellent performance. Unlocked my Phenom IIX2 Callisto BE, which is a bonus. Overclocking in F4 Bios is fine for me, and ACC worked like a charm. Boot-up is pretty quick with win7 ult 64bit. About 20 seconds or so, be it a cold start or restart.

Cons: Sometimes it will drop my bios settings if the system shuts down unexpectedly, which has only happened a few times due to power outages. Restarted and my settings were fine.

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom IIx2 555 BE unlocked to quad
Gigabyte 790XTA UD4
Sapphire Vapor-X 5770
A-Data Gaming Series DDR3 1600 4GB
Xclio GP 750W PS
