5 out of 5 eggsGreat MB

Pros: Had this MB for 4 years. NO issues at all! Nice piece of HW. Easy to overclock. Great temperatures with a Sunbeam CPU Cooler.

Nice MB, Gigabyte!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: The computer with this MB will go to my daughter and without a doubt will provide many more years of service!

5 out of 5 eggsNot sure why this was discontinued

Pros: This MB has everything except the kitchen sink:
USB 3.0
SATA-6
Unlocked BIOS
YOU NAME IT!

Cons: The Placement of the the 1x PCIE Ports. They really need to start putting them far away from the PCIE 16X port so you can actually use them as there are a tonne of cards out there in 1x PCIE flavor

Other Thoughts: I bough this board in June of 10 and it is still kicking. I am getting ready to upgrade this machine in anticipation of the Fall Game Releases (BF3, COD3)
Old Specs:
8GB Ripjaw DDR133
2x SATA-6 640GB Mirrored

New Specs
Same Mobo
Same CPI

2 out of 5 eggshit and a miss

Pros: Featurefull at least on paper, reasonably priced, can unlock 4th core on my phenom x3

Cons: USB 3 does not work at all, SATA 2 and 3 devices cannot be used concurrently, poor layout, cheap nb heat sink, not as stable as intel parts, ddr3 1600 not stable unless over volt nb.

Other Thoughts: i have owned many boards in my system building "career". this board is not the worst but is pretty darn close. at least it is not dead like all of my previous short lived abit boards or those barely working ones with via chipsets. actually, this gigabyte reminds me the "fun" i had with previous via boards. nothing works outside of stock settings plus a few major glitches here and there at times. the nb is already at 80+C so over volting to make ddr 3 run at 1600 is not feasible. there is no fan header to power any fan at the rear of the case and the ram placement is too close to the cpu heat sink. did i mention usb 3 does not work at all? buyers beware!

1 out of 5 eggsNot all it seems

Pros: Blue color

Cons: USB 3.0 will not recognize a 3.0 device, I get an error which says "This device will perform faster if inserted in a USB 3.0 port." I have tried 3 times, unsuccessfully, to get Gigabyte help. They asked if I reinstalled Windows. they asked twice what my problem was. I submitted the same issue 3 times and I get choppy English replies.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte has no helpful support. I've contacted many times and they reply with questions which I've answered or comment on a totally irrelevant issue. They speak poor English and do not understand. I RMA'd this twice to Gigabyte. It took 3-4 emails each time to get someone who understood. I'll never knowingly buy any Gigabyte product ever again.

1 out of 5 eggsFlaky until it died

Pros: When I bought it, this board had everything that I wanted, eSATA, Sata6. and USB 3.0 It was fairly cheap at the time.

Cons: Often, this board will fail to POST, but it could be corrected by cutting the power at the PSU and trying again.

However, this board now will not POST at all. After the motherboard is turned on, the only way to turn it off again is to cut power at the PSU.

Other Thoughts: I was looking through these reviews and the user "Deiamanda" seems to have experienced the exact same problem as me, so this isn't an isolated incident.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the copper used to make it.

Pros: USB 3.0, Sata 3, hmm thats it.

Cons: I have only had problems with this. I bought two, one came with the heat sync broken and had to RMA it.

Installing windows 7 takes sooo much longer on this MOBO than any other I have tried, I know its the MOBO because the only thing in common between my two builds is the MOBO and they both take hours. More specifically it hangs at each one of the install screens.

It comes with integrated ethernet card but that broke after about 6 months.

Nothing boots from a USB, it simply will not load live USB's. Even my cheap HP laptop loads live USB's with no problem.

Bios load time, it takes nearly 10 seconds from the time I push the power button till the time the bios screen pops up, why???

Any attempt I have tried at OC'ing this, everything crashes. In fact the only way to even achieve mild performance is to leave every setting stock.

Other Thoughts: All in all, this is not worth anyones time and I curse the day I purchased it.

5 out of 5 eggsMy roommate just bought one too

Pros: Has more options than I know what to do with. Lot's of USB choices. Space for those bulky video cards. BIOS is user friendly

Cons: Not many, except i had to change the overclock setting because it was set low enough to beep ALL THE TIME! simple adjustment in BIOS and it's all good

Other Thoughts: I <3 Gigabyte

1 out of 5 eggslost the lottery

Pros: very good board layout (for my case), research showed above average quality of materials used in the construction, high number of sata ports.

Cons: failed from the startup. had to manually set dram power. system would constantly lock up. Used "BurnIn" and memtest to check components and they all came back good. tried flashing bios and that was near disaster. contacted gigabyte tech and still working through tests and options.

Other Thoughts: this isn't my main system, so i wasn't in a rush to get it fixed. i've built 6-7 systems in the past, and this one has caused me the most headaches. Everything is pointing to a motherboard issue. Tech support from Gig has been moderate, but slow. From other forums and chats, it seems this board is a bit of a lottery; if you get a good one, then you are golden. Get a bad one and you don't have a chance of correcting it. may be rma'g this one.
