2 out of 5 eggsRAID controller messed up

Pros: Still (mostly) working almost 2 years later.

Cons: RAID controller is broken. Had RAID 1, and one day it suddenly stopped working. Tinkered a bit, figured out both drives work on their own, but when both plugged in it sees neither of them.

5 out of 5 eggsdecent MB

Pros: low price, includes some neato apps for energy saving and hardware management
USB3.0 is still a fair selling point

Cons: Minor issue with headphone functionality on the front panel but this is due to hardware limitations of my case.

Other Thoughts: This board has served me well for two years and I have not had any real issues with it *knock on wood*
Hopefully it'll last me a few more

2 out of 5 eggsworked until it just died

Pros: loved the board while it worked. the 3.0 usb was great.

Cons: woke up one morning and it was just dead, no way to try to even fix it. just dead and would not come back. disappointing.

Other Thoughts: I love gigabyte products, so i will continue to buy from them.

2 out of 5 eggsLemon at my hands !

Pros: Worked when it did.

Cons: Takes 10-15 minutes to cold boot Win XP SP3 or Win 7 Ultimate, the lag time progressively getting worse. Had to spend a lot of time and effort to narrow down the problem to the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Having read a lot of others having similar issues I have requested an RMA from Gigabyte. Will see how it goes. I will post a followup depending upon how Gigabyte handles this lemon.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value for a single-GPU setup

Pros: When I built my latest computer I tried to blend value with performance. It's high quality which is to be expected from Gigabyte and looks very nice in the case.

It's a great board if you just plan on using a single GPU.

Cons: Even though it's Crossfire ready, it's not a good board for it:

- The second PCI-e slot only runs at x1
- If you install a second card along the size of a 5870 or 6950/6970 you will lose about 4 of your SATA connections due to poor placement.

1 out of 5 eggsConcerned

Pros: worked well for roughly 8 months. looks nice and shiny and I enjoyed it when it worked.

Cons: worked well for 8 months and the crapped out on me, pretty much did an entire diagnostic with a gigabyte tech and basically confirmed it was the Mobo having issues because it would not start up even utilizing the minimum requirements for startup. I really like this motherboard, but based on other reviews, it seems to fail on others as well. Waiting for an RMA to be approved as I type this. Hopefully i can get my comp up and running

Other Thoughts: kinda disappointed that I have to pay for shipping the mobo back to the company, but like I said, still waiting on the RMA to be approved

1 out of 5 eggsRandom BSODs, Memory issues, etc.

Pros: Good price, Usb 3.0, 8 SATA ports, good if it would work right! Well cooled mosfets.

Cons: Inadequate sata port placement (2nd PCI-E card will block almost all blue SATA ports :( )
Bought 2 of these, both have the same parts and both experience random BSODs, Crashes when doing light work on the computer. Verified everything (voltages, timing, temperatures, BIOS updates, memory testing, etc.) and still the same.

Other Thoughts: I build a lot of computers and wanted to give Gigabyte a chance switching from Asus but this issue is really making me mad and I don't think I will be buying another Gigabyte motherboard again. The worst thing is that these two motherboards have been giving these issues since day 1 and I don't think it's possible to get a different model motherboard from Gigabyte but the same one which will still give the same problems !

3 out of 5 eggsIt's been an okay board.

Pros: It was a good price. USB 3.0 is very handy. Very well planned out board for my needs (not a big gamer, don't need SLI or crossfire).

Cons: First board I got crapped out in 2 weeks. I was pretty ticked. Newegg replaced the board and this one has been okay except for 1 problem. When I put the computer to sleep, it WILL NOT WAKE UP. I have to turn off my computer, open up the case, remove a stick of memory, turn it on, turn it back off, put the memory back in, turn it on, and then it will turn back on. Looked for a fix for this issue but have found nothing. Also, I'm not sure if it's the board or something else in my system, but this board takes a long time to post (even with optimized BIOS) and start loading Win7 from my hdd. A $1,000 computer shouldn't take 1 minute 20 seconds to boot up.

Other Thoughts: It's been an okay board, it would be better if I could get a fix for these issues.
