4 out of 5 eggsdoes not play well with others

Pros: looks nice, lots of features, sata III seems solid lots of bells and whistles

Cons: had stability issues with raid cards blue screens

had a hot point rocket raid 2720gl eight lane controller it crashed the worst with that. switched to an adaptec RAID 6805E. that card ran better but still it gave me random bluescreens. i dont know what caused the conflicts the memory access or the onboard graphics but it was not a happy build for me. its back to asus for me.

Other Thoughts: for the price it should have performed better and should not have conflicted with the add on raid.

2 out of 5 eggsWould not POST

Pros: First year was fine, no issues other than the occasional noise spike.

Cons: I have had this motherboard for a little under 2 years and all this year i have had troubles with it coming back to live after putting it to sleep.

a few times i thought maybe my power supply may be going out among other issues, GPU errors, etc. but all in all it worked just find, a little weak for what i use my computer for.

in the end it simply died. i took my computer apart piece by piece in hopes it was simply a connection error at some point.

still refuses to POST.

Other Thoughts: if this thing was as durable as the board indicates i wouldn't be here looking for something else.

1 out of 5 eggsNever Again

Pros: Loved that this board could handle the Six-Core AMD CPU and that it had several SATA ports for running RAID. My intent was to build a system that runs RAID10.

Cons: Unfortunately RAID doesn't do well with this board. I have four 320GB SATA drives running RAID10. Since day one drives continually drop out of the Logical Disk. When sitting idle this is at random, when under a heavy read/write load it is faster. I cannot use my system it loses disks so fast. Sometimes it will also report that several of the drives have dropped from the array causing applications to not respond, then everything appears fine after a reboot. I am rebuilding my RAID array daily. Opened a case a year ago with Gigabyte who told me I had bad HDD's. I got the ones that dropped RMA'd. Issue still persisted. I contacted them again last month. They had no record of my old case. They asked me to go through several BIOS revisions all with no change. Sent board back in for RMA. Received back with nothing telling me what was done to fix this. But guess they don't know how to fix because nothing has changed. They haven't heard the last from me yet.

Other Thoughts: Will try ASUS next time.

1 out of 5 eggsBoot Problems

Pros: When working, this board performs well for the limited application, day to day routine use, emails, surfing, music etc. No Games or serious number crunching applications.

Cons: Board worked fine for about four months, then had difficulty booting up. When going into sleep mode or power down after inactive period, board froze and would not boot up. Tech support sugessted clear CMOS and Post with only minimum peripherals.

Other Thoughts: I have several PC builds under by belt. I have had several email exchanges with Tech Support, however I find their communications to be limited and not detailed. This board should be replaced period. The product is discontinued. I bought this board in March 2011 and now I have to look for a replacement. Gigabyte is not among the top considerations.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Great Board. Lots of SATA & USB ports. Has decent onboard video for diagnostics (i burned out a video card and it helped to single out the Gcard). Onboard audio is fine, has optical out.

Cons: Only 1 pci-e 2.0 x16, so x-fire is out for me.

Other Thoughts: Great value and everything I paid for.

Phenom ii x4 965BE @4ghz, 2x4gb ripjaws 1333, agility 2 60gb SSD, 150gb WD raptor, 1tb cav black, 2.5tb cav green, sapphire 6970, 750w corsair PSU.

1 out of 5 eggs3 months and poof

Pros: Great features for the price.

Cons: Same problem as others posting here. No problems at all loading and worked very well for 3 months. Now it won't boot at all, and Gigabyte won't even respond to my tech support request.

Other Thoughts: I think I'll make sure the next product I buy actually has a phone number for tech support not just an email address they can ignore.
