5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO, Bad rebate system.

Pros: Well put together board, Killer NIC, Creative sound card (would have loved to see an Asus but that is not going to happen).
Great performance

Cons: NIC Would love a second one.
WOL (not often used, but it is a step backwards)
Slightly larger than ATX (Could not fit crossflow fan)
Green/Green Lights (I will change this!)
Cheesy gun parts (Ok if you are a kid I suppose, I would have loved some nice Copper)
No more driver updates :(
You can only use one raid controller at a time.
End of life

Other Thoughts: A second NIC would have been perfect, it would provide WOL and using just about any other NIC would have made life easier with Linux. There are "No" Linux drivers available for the Killer NIC.

Speaking of Drivers, Killer Networks seem to be having some issues writing and testing (QA) their drivers. Many report errors of the Network Manager app losing connection with the NIC which is solved only by a System restart in most cases.

Creative -Great hardware, terrible support and drivers.

Buggy Bios update software and updates.

I really love this board and aside from the "cons" there is a lot to enjoy on the board.

5 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: awesome board, very sturdy build quality, green LEDs look sweet

Cons: came with 2 and 3way SLI bridges but no crossfire bridge

Other Thoughts: if you are going to install dual channel RAM instead of triple channel check out the diagram in the manual. the slots are not what you would expect

3 out of 5 eggsit's ok !!

Pros: cool look, works, bios is ok. audio good other than when it wakes from sleep see cons

Cons: audio clips bad when waking from sleep, not sure about marvell 9182 sata3 my crucial 64g m4 drive used to boot my sabbertooth x58 in 10 seconds now its 22 seconds despite window experience index going from 7.8 to 7.9

p.s. for those having issuses in bf3 change bigfoot priority from default of 1 to either 2 or 3 solves most problems reboot required to take effect.

Other Thoughts: I can not get tuner 6.0 or any other software to confirm my overclock voltages other than ram cpu always shows 1.264 despite in advanced voltages i have it at 1.284 and fan controller does not seem to work.

2 out of 5 eggsGigabyte FTL

Pros: Cosmetically pleasing and it works as advertised*

Cons: When I recieved the board the pins were bent. I still don't know how. I was the only one installing everything and I hadn't taken the cover off of the socket. This is NOT a regular issue, however it brings us to gigabytes RMA/customer service quality. It sucks. retail price + shipping for RMA twice total put this board $90 over the price at purchase.

Also if you have a full tower don't get too excited about the usb 3.0. It doesn't reach to the front of the case (where it is designed to go) This is mentioned in at least one other review.

Other Thoughts: I won't buy Gigabyte again. There are enough companies out there making dominate/more dominate motherboards to make this not worth a second venture.

2 out of 5 eggsToo big, flawed design

Pros: If you can get this Mobo to fit, its great...

Cons: The cons far outweigh the pros on this Mobo. I went through two cases and couldn't get this behemoth to fit. I finally ended up cutting/modding my tower to make this thing fit. Now that it is finally in the performance is great, however the other major complaint I have is that the HDMI port is pushed so far over to the side, that I cant even get a cable to fit because the side of my tower is too close to the port. Why didn't the people at Gigabyte thing this stuff through?

3 out of 5 eggsStill working out the kinks

Pros: Looks cool, lots of USB headers.

Cons: Poor technical support, IE9 crashed until BIOS flashed to F3, Sound is a bit flaky and keeps going silent even though the device is recognized and Windows7 reports no problems. Several installation programs fail w/o obvious reason. Not completely sure it's the MB, but I've never had as many "little glitches" as I've had with this PC. In an Antec 900 case, the SATA headers are a bit close to where the drive bays sit.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT posting

Pros: nice specifications

Cons: DOA NOT POSTING, Newegg denied RMA stating missing UPC Code which was attached for mail-in rebate. Need to process return directly to manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: first time I tried a Gigabyte mobo, and end-up ruining this Xmas season for me. Bah Humbah

4 out of 5 eggsIDUNNO

Pros: Enjoy the fact that everything is not dependent on the cpu. the bios is not complicated.

Cons: Board just up and died 40 days after I got it... so RMA to gigabyte just ran me 90 bucks... So price is a real con specially if you can only ship the thing to the US for RMA...

Other Thoughts: This is the first Gigabyte anything to die on me so I am reserving my opinion until I recieve back the board.

1 out of 5 eggslimping along

Pros: board works but not as good as it should

Cons: problems with the board layout, if you have 2 ati HD6900 gpus the gpus must go in slots 1 pcie x16 and slot 5 pcie x8 this is for ventatilation, once board install you are unable to instal any of the edge connectors because the GPUs overlap the headers. The next problem I have is that the sound using 7.1 surround has severe audio clipping. Also it uses a creative CA20K2 audio chip but the creative auto detect software cannot find a creative device.

Other Thoughts: more thought should have went int the layout

2 out of 5 eggsManufacturing defects

Pros: The specs on this board are great! I love the onboard USB 3 to run through my case. Lots of tweaking software to make this a fast MB. The XFi onboard with all the supporting software is a real plus!

Cons: Just sent the second board back! First board had defect in the CPU pins - several longer than others inviting a short. Second board the sound was dead. Would not show up in BIOS when enabled.

Other Thoughts: This is a cool looking board with great specs. It would not run BF3 and kept cutting out after a couple minutes play. BF3 forums say the LAN chipset is to blame. Ran COD fine.
