1 out of 5 eggsReview #2, RMA'd motherboard

Pros: It does what it is supposed to do, almost.

Cons: First motherboard :

- Motherboard would randomly crash, restart and blue screen for two years straight, at the end, it started doing a restart cycle and I couldn't even get past the bios menu. It would start on for two seconds, shut down, restart back on and do that cycle over and over until I cut off the power.
- The motherboard doesn't detect some hardware and therefore I always have to have an external hard drive to update it with executable to connect to internet, this is utterly annoying especially when you don't have any other computer close by. Every time I try to update a driver I have to do it manually.

Second motherboard :

- The motherboard also blue screens randomly when I start a program, it happens at least once per day.
- There are now random slow downs occurring, most of the time when I connect to an external server through a program (skype, steam game servers, mumble voice, etc). This happens all the time, and sometimes it won't stop and I have to reset the computer.
- The motherboard STILL doesn't detect most of the hardware and therefore I always have to have an external hard drive to update it with executable to connect to internet when I reformat(ehternet driver), this is utterly annoying especially when you don't have any other computer close by. Every time I try to update a driver I have to do it manually.

Other Thoughts: Most of what is typed is what I had to write to gigabyte.

I have received your RMA'd motherboard two weeks ago, yet it is still failing again. This is now the 4th time I've had issues with your motherboards and I paid 33$ shipping for this one (1/3rd of what I paid two years ago for it) just to get it over in California from Sherbrooke, Quebec. I haven't been able to use my computer for over a month and now counting. And this is not counting the time I wasted trying to figure out the problem. (It wouldn't start back up and go in a reset cycle each 2-3 seconds).

All you guys have done seems to be a factory reset with a bios update (f7).

I've had terrible experience with your products so far when, I installed three motherboards, each time in brand new setups to myself, my friend and my brother and they've all had issues known to occur on your products.

1 out of 5 eggsNever buy from Gigabyte.

Pros: - Has the features I wanted for my new computer build

Cons: - Was defective on arrival, would crash my computer every now and then, blue screen, freeze, everything was wrong with it. I couldn't even do any bios updates on it. Doesn't detect half of the hardware on my computer. Then some day it wouldn't work at all, it booted up and restarted every two seconds and would do that cycle until the power was shut down. Upon reading on the forums I noticed that it is a known issue with Gigabyte motherboards.

Other Thoughts: Never buy from Gigabyte, they have the worst and slowest technical support ever. I had to RMA my first motherboard for 35$ shipping to them which is 1/3rd the price I bought it for. They shipped back the repaired board after 5 working days of processing, still defective, with the same issues. I have tried an Intel motherboard on the same setup and it works perfectly. Now I have to buy from another manufacturer because they want me to ship it back for another 35$ and I don't want to go through this again (3 weeks without a computer).

This is the second motherboard I installed from Gigabyte and both of them had similar problems, they have one of the worst customer support of the computer industry and they are well known for it (Wish I had known before buying from them).

If you need a motherboard, I suggest buying from Asus, Intel and EVGA, they have the best customer support on the market and rarely have DOA's or defective products.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board!

Pros: This board has been running strong for over a year! I have had no problems with it so far! I haven't tried out much overclocking, so I can't comment there. Great features and plenty of room for upgrading.

Cons: No UEFI- I knew what I was buying. The TouchBios feature is lackluster, at best, and a bit useless. I'd rather just go to the BIOS and adjust setting there, though.

The LAN drivers on the disk where a bit shoddy and disconnected before I upgraded, not a problem because you should always download the latest drivers from the website.

Other Thoughts: My build:

1 out of 5 eggsMotherboard was defective since day 1

Pros: None, it's a motherboard... Had the features i wanted.

Cons: -the item was defective on arrival, it would make my computer restart, shutdown, crash and freeze randomly. I didnt bother replacing it because i had no money to ship it back and the problem wasnt frequent, but after merely a year it completly died.

Other Thoughts: Woul not recommend gigabyte motherboards, they are known for these issues and i should have paid more for a better one...

1 out of 5 eggsDecent Board. Lackluster support at best

Pros: Board seems decent but they lost my business with their pathetic support (see below).

Cons: Support is less than lackluster...to the point that I will go with a different manufacturer on any and all future purchases for both myself and corporately. I gave it one egg only because I'm forced to do at least that. From the sub-par support I got, I'd say it's a rotten egg.

Other Thoughts: I asked Gigabyte one simple question: Why does firmware vF1-F4 work on my board, but firmware F5-F7 does not (the OS won't load with F5-F7 but works without a hiccup from F1-F4). I never got an answer to my question. While, technically, they did provide *an* answer to my question, telling me that, ''...the BIOS is set to factory defaults when flashed,'' does not explain why more recent iterations of BIOS do not work on my system. I highly recommend an Asus or Intel board - basically any well known and recognized brand OTHER THAN Gigabyte.

On the rare need that I've had to call Asus, they have always answered my questions instead of providing worthless drivel and saying it's the correct answer. Gigabyte, take note: There is a vast difference between providing AN answer in lieu of the CORRECT answer. I guarantee you, my next board will not be a Gigabyte.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Awesome Mobo! Speeds up the overall speed of the PC, great for a simple - advanced builds, and the CrossFireX is handy!

Cons: None yet, besides the mail-in rebate. Too lazy to do that, it should be online.

4 out of 5 eggsNice board!

Pros: Board works great. Friend suggested Using a gigabyte board and it worked flawlessly. Product description was correct, and the shipping was prompt

Cons: Looses an egg for mail in rebate. I do not believe it is fair to have to mail in a time sensitive rebate on a product you purchase online.

Other Thoughts: Shipping was free so I guess is a wash. I did not even bother with the rebate

4 out of 5 eggsNetwork Card Issue

Pros: Easy to overclock and 4 memory slots.

Cons: The network card/port would not stay connected so I disabled it and installed a reliable network card.

Other Thoughts: Immediately updated the BIOS during build so perhaps that caused issue with network card? Everything is good now so I’m going to leave it alone.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Econo Board

Pros: high end parts (caps etc). Massively tweakable. SATA ports are not obstructed by large / long video cards. Supports DDR3 2133

Cons: No firewire. No SLI. Did not come with any additional USB cables to use for on-board headers. Intel retail boards always do.

Other Thoughts: Love this board so far. FAST boot times and an enormous amount of options in BIOS. Get @BIOS from Gigabyte's site to update BIOS right in windows.
