1 out of 5 eggsFails to work properly with GPU

Pros: nice feature mix, USB 3

Cons: Will not work properly with ANY GPU card. Tried NVIDIA cards, tried AMD/ATI cards. Does not boot properly with cards, and does not show BIOS on video monitor when card is installed.

This makes this MB unusable if you want to run a video card.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good LGA 775 board

Pros: This is great board for your Core 2 Duo processor. USB 3.0 is one reason and Gigabit LAN is another. Tough to find both of these on a 775 board. I bought this board and 8 Gigs of RAM from newegg for under $100 and my e8400 C2D is loving it, lol. The BIOS also has some pretty good overclocking features. It's just a great value with great features...very tough to do better for the money you'll spend.

Cons: Cons? I was going to say it has no 40-pin IDE provision, only SATA, but that is a pretty minor quibble.

Other Thoughts: I'm not ready to upgrade to iX series processor yet because for my purposes the Core 2 Duo series are still a very capable CPU, exp the higher end ones. This board allows them to be used with the more important features that I need; fast USB and fast Ethernet.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Board

Pros: Had A Vostro 220 and wanted a decent gaming rig but I felt the vostro was not cutting it. So I went with this board since it has DDR 3 amd USB 3 .0 not bad I thought Since DDR is at good entry prices I said why not even though i was a bit concerned about mu E7400 not being up to snuff, Board Came installed ok then came the e4700 married with this board All I did was raisr it to 333 instead of 266 the e7400 went to 3.5 no problem (Very Stable at moment. The Gpu Is a Ati 6870 very ps3 xbox style gaming system Not bad at all on A 720p sorry boys thats all i got STIll looks great plays well on games latest ones at that Also 8 Gigs ram helps nicely as well wish SSD drives would come to acceptable price levels please ssd owners make a 250gb for under 150 bucks already! New Egg is just a angel in selling parts fr my clients or myself I would not shop any place else. Its like I bought a new chip since the e7400 was a born again at 3.5ghz not too shabby board handles the overclock extremely :)

Cons: Would Of been a 5 egg if it went to 16gb ram Gigabyte is MY Choice all the time Knock WOOD They never Failed Me and if you call626-854-9338 those Techs are all questions ant tips how to overclock not bad for a company whicj most stick to the standard Un Enthusiastic Builders.

Other Thoughts: I build this setup for a client who wanted a cheaper upgrade option for playing the Star Wars Old Republic Ati 6870 is a very upper class mid range product, Plus A e7400 overclocked to 3.5GHZ

5 out of 5 eggssmall n good

Pros: good board. i own/ed many higher end gigabyte boards. p35-ds3l, P45-UD3, P43-D??. this is no where near as good as far as quality of heat sinks, but decent board. its small for a mATX.

OS X lion installs easily with cakewalk, i am still having problems with network, but hope to work it out

Cons: having trouble getting ram to run at 1333 with OC but i didnt want to push it because i wanted it to run cool and quiet

Other Thoughts: x6800 Core 2 Extreme
kingston KHX1333C9D3B1K2/8G
gigabyte 9800 gt graphics

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Micro ATX motherboard

Pros: Uses VERY cheap DDR3
Supports all of the 775 CPU's out there
Onboard video is good enough for HDTV @ 1080P
Room for expansion via PCI cards
Great value - the board is reasonably priced, has solid state capacitors, and has a strong northbridge cooler with solid thermal paste.

Cons: Only has 2 DDR3 slots - could put more RAM in for less money if it had 4 slots.

Other Thoughts: I've had this board in my HTPC rig for about 6 months now paired with a modest Core 2 6750 running at 2.66 along with an 40GB SSD and so far this thing is GREAT. I play media over the network - running HD @ 1080P is a snap. I've yet to do anything with it other than HD playback and Youtube. I've recently added an old Radeon 4850 that I had laying around and might try playing some of last years games on it. If you need a replacement board for your socket 775 rig, this one is it!

3 out of 5 eggsDoes the trick

Pros: Stable, cool, USB3. 1 of each, PCIE X1 /X16 and PCI for older hardware.

Win 7 installed without a hitch, all drivers installed easily and all USB headers work. USB3 headers work fine with USB2 devices.

Cons: Wake up / Resume from S3

I have the same wake up problems that have been reported by other users. The machine will freeze when coming out of S3 state and will have to be shut down manually.

It's not as bad as other as I don't need to clear the CMOS or anything.

Still, I hope GB fixes this through a bios update, although I doubt it as it's a pretty old board and it's an ageing LGA 775 socket.

Docking two eggs until this is fixed.

Other Thoughts: I bought the board knowing about the S3 issues because it's used in an HTPC that rarely goes to sleep.

However, users beware of this issue, especially if S3 is important or you have to keep you power bill down.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Board for Extending 775 use

Pros: DDR3
USB 3.0
PCI express x16
Good RAM clearance with use of Hyper 212+ CPU cooler
Gigabyte quality
Good value w/ rebate

Cons: G41 chipset low FSB limit
No AHCI or RAID support
Large video cards (I'm still using an HD4850) will cover one SATA port and render the other PCI slots pretty much useless
General hassles involved with rebates

Other Thoughts: I picked up this motherboard when my GA-965P-DS3 unexpectedly croaked after 4.5 years. I hit a FSB wall trying to overclock my Q9300 at 344 MHz, which sounds about right for Quads on the G41 chipset based on posts throughout the forums. Higher multiplier/lower FSB chips should probably OC okay with this board, though this is obviously not a serious gaming/overclocking board- nor does it claim to be. I moved all my old hardware (except RAM) onto the board and everything fired up right away. I was even able to move my current Windows 7 64-bit installation right over onto the new board without a hitch; a big time saver. I zip-tied a small fan to the side of the NB heatsink as it gets pretty hot- maybe not too big of a deal since it doesn’t really overclock. 2 x 2 GB of G.SKILL RAM is running at 8-8-8-24 1333 MHz on the “Extreme” BIOS setting without problems. Overall this is a pretty nice little board updated with some modern tech that should keep your LGA 775 chip going strong.

4 out of 5 eggsGood board for the price

Pros: Working as good as expected for a low-end motherboard. Offers USB 3.0 when most others in the same price range don't.

Cons: On-board audio has static noise when using headphones via front and back panel

Other Thoughts: There is static noise in on-board audio under both Linux and 64bit Windows 7 when using headphone directly plugged into motherboard rear panel or case front panel audio out. Noise is there even when EVERYTHING is muted. Static increase when mouse is moved. Static is gone when headphone is plugged into Logitech speaker 3.5mm jack.

5 out of 5 eggsanother good one

Pros: works first time every time. no issues with drivers or anything else

Cons: on board hdmi would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: I've owned many pcs, and this is my 6th build. every mobo has been a gigabyte and I've never been let down. Now I think I'm just scared to try anything else. another flawless gigabyte mobo.

4 out of 5 eggshad "error loading operating system" fixed

Pros: runs a used 775 with cheap ddr3, chipset runs sorta hot but no problems so far. need sata cd/dvd and hard drives, no ide. Not sure about the USB 3.0, i was looking at the rebate when purchasing.

Cons: tried q6600 cpu (1066 fsb) with corsair 1333 (which the mb runs at 1066) and got "error loading operating system", no matter what i tried couldnt get past it, so i tired a e6550 cpu (1333 fsb) with the 1333 (still running at 1066) and all is well. I believe someone in a preveous review mentioned the same behavior.

Other Thoughts: i shorted jumper to clear the cmos also, i would also suggest this if you are having problems. 2 upper USB ports (blue tab) are 3.0 only, nothing less will run there, (like not your mb/mouse)
