  • newegg GIGABYTE Touch BIOS Navigating through the BIOS to change the setting can be a daunting task for users not familiar with control "F" functions and mouse-less navigation. While some EFI BIOS try to address this with a mouse friendly environment, many implementations still lack a certain ease-of-use necessary for most people. With GIGABYTE Touch BIOS, GIGABYTE engineers have completely re-imagined how users interact with BIOS, allowing for a more intuitive experience. In fact, with a touch screen monitor, GIGABYTE Touch BIOS is as easy to use as most apps on your iPhone.

  • newegg Switchable Graphics with LucidLogix Virtu GPU Virtualization GIGABYTE Z68 motherboards are enabled with LucidLogix Virtu GPU virtualization technology which allows user to dynamically switch between built-in graphics and the high-end, 3D discrete graphics cards. This is ideal for gamers who require high-resolution gaming and still want to enjoy the built-in media features of Intel second generation Core processors. In so doing, switchable graphics help dramatically reduce PC graphics power consumption.
  • newegg Ultra Durable 3 The GIGABYTE's Ultra Durable 3 design features twice the copper for both power and ground layers of the PCB, dramatically lowering temperature by efficiently spreading the heat from critical areas of the motherboard (such as CPU power zone) throughout entire PCB. The Ultra Durable 3 also lowers the PCB impedance by 50%, which helps reduce electric waste and further lowers component temperature. A 2x Copper layer design also provides improved signal quality and lower EMI (Electromagnetic Interference), providing better system stability and allowing for greater margins for overclocking.
  • newegg USB 3.0 & SATA III & 3x USB Power Boost The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology provides blazing fast data transfer speed of up to 5Gbps between your USB peripherals and system. SATA III technology offers up to 6Gbps link speeds for twice the data transfer rates of SATA Revision 2.0 (3 Gbps). 3x USB power boost delivers greater compatibility and extra power for USB devices by efficiently regulating output over the full voltage range.
  • newegg Multi-GPU Support with CrossFireX and SLI Flexible graphics capabilities supported for either CrossFireX or SLI deliver the ultimate in graphics performance for gaming enthusiasts who demand the highest frame rates without compromising on resolution.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Motherboard

Pros: Stable, Zero Issues -- running perfectly for 4 years. Upgraded system with an Intel 730 SSD and GTX680, the system flies.

Cons: Slow Post start-up, but since I barely ever reboot, this is not an issue.

Other Thoughts: 2WD HD's, i7-2600 CPU, PNY 8800GT, 16GB Corsair RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsI have two of these that have been running 24/7 for four years

Pros: I have two of these I used as server boards and both have been running 24/7 for four years now and not a single problem.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsFour good years but BIOS update for WIn10 ended it.

Pros: The board served me well. I kept it in average 80 degree Fahrenheit and it it lasted four years. I do have two extra large fans in my case to help with that.

Cons: I never could get the Intel Smart Response to work with my OCZ SSD, even with tech support. Other than that I didn't have any issues until upgrading to Win10. I was having both extremely slow boots and boot hangs. It also wouldn't see all my USB drives. None of the Gigabyte drivers are updated for Win10 and I tried both Win7 and Win8.1 versions with no joy. I updated to the latest UEFI BIOS. It booted a handful of times but then gave up the ghost and started continuous power cycling without making it to the BIOS even. Time for new MB :(

1 out of 5 eggsFailed After 3 yrs 1 Month = Gigabyte

Pros: Good feature set.

Cons: Didn't last, started to randomly put monitor to sleep, and then got to the point it would continuously cycle rebooting, never getting to the bios. Very disappointed, first MOBO I've ever had fail.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO

Pros: Bought this 4 years ago when I built my first gaming PC. It has lasted me this long, and still going strong. I think the first one I received something was wrong with it, so I returned this and the PSU ( I couldn't figure out which one was the problem, and had no other systems to switch out parts in to test). I had no problems sending them back, and received replacements shortly after. They worked like a champ

Cons: None!

4 out of 5 eggsRMA complete and successful

Pros: Previously reported problem of looping (11/15/13) corrected in RMA. Motherboard is working fine now. RMA process took about a month.

Cons: Had trouble using Gigabyte's online RMA process - my RMA was not tracked by the online system. Use phone contact to facilitate RMA process and find its status.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate: Boot loop

Pros: Worked fine for over 13 months.

Cons: Out of the blue, my computer went into a on/off loop: on a few seconds, off a few. Over and over - seemingly no attempt to load my Win 7 system.

I've checked CPU, memory and PSU, all good. Cleared CMOS, stripped board of GPU, SATA/USB connections, case connections - none of which helped. I guess it need to be RMA'd.

I have an I7-2600K, Corsair 2xGB Vengeance 1600 and Corsair H60 Water Cooler still on the board. I believe the board has F10 BIOS level.

Other Thoughts: I had a similar loop problem with my Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3, which I RMA'd. Gigabyte fixed that and it has been running OK for a year.

I have two newer Gigabyte motherboards and hope I not facing the same with them.

5 out of 5 eggsStable 36% Over Clock all day!!

Pros: This board is really a good board. Currently running a 3.3ghz i5 2500k @ 4.41ghz stable. Looks good, good layout. Lots of features. Love that it has onboard video, even though I don't use it, it's nice to know if your graphics card fails you still have a computer that works. I recommend this board to anyone looking for a good reliable, stable over clocker. Get it on the bay for dirt cheap now.

Cons: My only issue is the 8 pin power plug is so high up my power supply cable barely reaches it. (bottom mount power supply).

Only other con is that you have these complete tools who mark down this board when the only issue is not the board but them.

Other Thoughts: i5 2500k @ 4.41ghz

EVGA GTX 260, 216 Core

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Great board! Haven't had any problems with the hardware.
Decent price, allows for SLI or Crossfire if you like.
Plenty of expansion slots and usb headers, for 2.0 and 3.0
lots of slots for sata cables
easy to overclock using the bios and included software

Cons: some of the bundled software is unstable... I would stay away from most of it. Some of it caused crashes and would freeze up the computer. You really don't need most of it. Anything you need from the gigabyte bundled software can be changed in the bios itself.
