4 out of 5 eggsPretty solid

Pros: the overclocking tools are amazing.

Cons: mine came messed up out of the box but after a few on/offs with the cmos battery out/4pin it seemed to fix it into perfect shape.

Other Thoughts: it can take some serious overclocking

1 out of 5 eggsbad, totally bad

Pros: none, absolutely none.

Cons: had this a week, the sound went out, asked for and recieved rma number, asked for crossshipping with a cc number told no, but we will expedite. rma'd it, was told it had been repaired and shipped out, waited a week, called, was told it had shipped out, waited yet another week, called, told it hadnt shipped, there were other issues, it would be shipped on monday, today (wednesday ) i get email staing it has shipped and will be delivered monday, this is my first
( and last ) gigabyte board, and now i am extremely leery of getting this board back, that many issues and you chose to repair it, and took 2 1/2 weeks to do it, really? cannot trust this company

Other Thoughts: never ever buy gigabyte products.

4 out of 5 eggsGood quality for the price.

Pros: I got this motherboard as a bundle with an AMD FX4100 and a Seagate 500 gb HDD, it was a very good deal.

Installation was a breeze and BIOS is easy to navigate, and overclock friendly.

I have no plans of having 4 sticks of ram, so the 2 memory slots are perfect and look clean in my case.

Cons: I wasn't considering that I may want to run SLI eventually, and the single PCI express x16 slot means I'll need to replace my mobo as well. A lack of USB 3.0 is also kind of a bummer. These were both things I was aware of when I purchased it though.

A couple legitimate gripes:

I didn't particularly like the placement of the HD audio connection, its right above the gpu. The cable running to it has to lay on top of the gpu and looks a little messy. If it was just placed underneath the PCI slots with all the other frontplate connectors, I would have been happier.

Also, no BIOS control on the fans is a little annoying, they just run at full all the time, so might as well plug them all into your psu.

Other Thoughts: All-in-all, it's a great motherboard for the price, especially if you're looking to build a moderate gaming computer and need a place to cut some cost (just be aware if you ever want to upgrade further, it will likely mean replacing the motherboard).

5 out of 5 eggsRunning great

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to setup

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: So far this board is running with zero issues for 3 months. The PC is kept running 24/7, so it's had a nice long burn in.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Everything except one thing, see cons.

Cons: 1) I wish it had more case fan connectors so I can control it with SMART fan. It's really not a big deal, I just plug my case fans into the power supply.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this motherboard for over a year with a FX-6100 and Radeon 6850. It's longevity is amazing...It hasn't failed me at all, it serves all the purposes it was bought for at this PRICE RANGE. Some people give a bad comment for a product at this price because it doesn't have the features they wanted. That's ridiculous, this is a budget motherboard.

4 out of 5 eggsReplacement for Pegatron M2N78-LA

Pros: Onboard everything, PCI-E x16 slot

Cons: No HDMI, 3 pin cpu fan constantly runs at full speed

Other Thoughts: I got this to replace a Pegatron M2N78-LA board that came in my wife's HP. It is a PERFECT replacement for that board. Nearly everything connects exactly as it should. The only problem is with the CPU fan as this board wants a 4 pin cooler and HP has a 3 pin. The 3 pin cooler still connects and runs, but it does so at full speed! This makes for a very noisy system.

Win 7 had to be reinstalled, but it accepted the OEM key no problem. Less than an hour to pull the old board and install this one! Plus an hour to reinstall Windows.

The board has all the options I needed. Onboard video/sound/LAN. It has run flawlessly. The only problem I ran into was that it doesn't have an HDMI port like my P4. No big deal, DVI and a 3.5 audio cable works just as well. Besides, there is a PCI-E x16 slot so I can add a video card later for better performance and HDMI.

This computer is just used for homework, minor games and some video streaming. It does that quite nicely. We have seen a few hiccups in streaming, but that could be from a bandwidth issue. It runs my wife's Facebook games and Sims 3 quite well.

For a budget board you could do a lot worse. And if you need to replace a Pegatron M2N78-LA... This is your board!

2 out of 5 eggsrev 5.x is cheaper than the original 3.x

Pros: price

Cons: rev 5.x is the one that seems to be shipping now. it's a cheaper version and does not support 120w cpus unlike rev 3. check gigabyte's page, they list rev 3.x and 5.x as different.
