1 out of 5 eggsgreat board when it worked

Pros: it worked for the first year and a half or so

Cons: both the onboard lan and the wifi card I had installed suddenly stopped working, which renders the computer useless for its main task, which was gaming

4 out of 5 eggsOnly missing one thing

Pros: Smoking fast with support of the AM3+ FX processors. Great AMD 990FX Chipset.
Dual x16 PCI-E slots

Cons: No included Crossfire cable...? ummm...nope.

Other Thoughts: Paired with 2x HD Radeon 7770's, a FX 8350, 32Gbs RAM, 850W PS and RAIDED 120Gb SSD's. This MB along with the rest of the build is a great buy for under $1K.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Motherboard!

Pros: One of the most stable, if not THE most stable, and fastest motherboards on the market.

I've been building high-end gaming systems for over 10 years and Gigabyte is currently the best motherboard manufacturers out there. I ordered this board for my most resent gaming system build and as usual I was very impressed with Gigabyte's quality. If you are looking for the most stable and the fastest motherboard out there, look no further. This is it!

Side note: If your in need of a motherboard with an over abundance of UBS 3.0 & 2.0 ports, you'll have them with this one.

Cons: Absolutely NONE!

Other Thoughts: Kudos to Newegg for their speed in processing and shipping my order. Outstanding!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Features for the Price

Pros: Mobo was easy to install, worked easily right off the bat. Plenty of bios options to play with. I really think this is the best option for an entry level builder. It has all the capabilities you could want with a 990FX chipset and at an entry level cost.

Cons: I haven't come across any.

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried some of the things other commentators are talking about, such as RAID arrays and such. I plan to O/C my CPU once I can afford the cooler, so I may add more info then.

3 out of 5 eggsdon't know yet - to be updated

Pros: It looks nice, fit in my case nicely. Lots of slots

Cons: more holes than my case had standoffs, doesn't work yet (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: This is my first attempt to replace my own CPU and Motherboard, and after reading and watching a lot of YouTube, I thought I could handle it. Well hands-on is definitely different, but I figured it out for the most part. Trouble is now, there is no video signal. Fans and lights are running, i can hear the computer (processor?) working. Unfortunately my case has no speaker, so I don't have any beeps to help me diagnose. I have a speaker and a POST test card on order already. RIght now all that's left that I haven't done (torn it down and done breadboard booting several times) is reset the CMOS by pulling the battery. And I've also read that sometimes these boards have issues with their PCI-E slot, so if that doesn't work, they suggest pulling it out and putting it in several times -- currently using a Power Color 7870. All my equipment that isn't new was working in my last computer, have only replaced the mobo, cpu, and added a cooler master hyper 212 EVO on top of that. Not going to send it in for RMA until I get the speaker and POST Test card to be certain. I'll be sure to update here as soon as I have a final result.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Used to be a great board; I have purchased 6 or 7 of this board over the last 1.5 yrs and never had a problem.

Cons: Had to RMA the board twice for the same problems:

* NIC does not work
* SATA performance only about 60% of advertised rate even on high speed drives (10k and 15k)
* Unable to create a stable RAID10 array with 4 WD Black 1T harddrives

Other Thoughts: As far as I have been able to track this seems to be a problem with Linux only. Looks like the newer BIOS versions for this board may be broken. All my other boards run either Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or CentOS flawlessly.

Pros: If your gonna overclock it's not worth the money, and if your not gonna overclock heh just stay away anyhow.

Cons: Fried my 8350

Other Thoughts: Just stay away from this board.

1 out of 5 eggsWould have been nice if it worked.

Pros: It looks pretty cool and has an on-board USB 3.0 header. Also has HD audio jacks and plenty of USB 2.0 ports on the back.

Cons: It would not turn on. At all. Would not go through POST. We spent hours trying to figure out the problem, trying it with multiple PSU's and cases, checked and rechecked wiring etc. Sent it back for a replacement and the replacement didn't work either. After emailing Gigabyte tech support, they sent me a couple of suggestions which I tried but those didn't work either. I emailed them back, but there were no further responses on their end. Not that it mattered much anyway, I got a refund and bought an Asus board for slightly cheaper and it worked on the first try!

Other Thoughts: I actually didn't buy the motherboard through Newegg, I bought it through another online retailer which will remain nameless since apparently Newegg won't let me use their name in this review haha. Still should have gone with Asus in the first place.

5 out of 5 eggsgood motherboard

Pros: no problems after installation. Work right out of the box.

Cons: just recently, I notice when playing music there is a minor popping sound. Its not my speakers or the drivers, I already checked that. I believe its the onboard sound card.

Other Thoughts: I was going to buy a sound card anyways

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board- Do your RESEARCH!!

Pros: Flat black finish is pretty sweet looking. Easy bio's interface.

Cons: none. Phenom 965's arent meant to run 1600mhz ram. its not the boards fault. slap in a fm1 processor and it will run just fine.

Other Thoughts: A decent quality board for a accaptble price given the features like usb 3.0, crossfire, 6 gbs sata.
