108dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio Playback

GIGABYTE motherboards feature higher capability audio solutions with 108dB Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) playback quality to deliver high-performance, multi-channel HD audio. SNR is a comparison of the amount of signal to the amount of noise - such as hiss - present in the signal (expressed in Decibels). A higher SNR equals a better audio experience. For example, 108dB, is a high audio specification, as this means the audio signal is 108dB higher than the level of the noise.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST, Very Happy

Pros: Ran perfect out of box. Did not have to change any settings.
Bios is totally cool, very configurable. Runs cool and fast.
AMD 990 FX chip is awesome.

Cons: Have to OC just to get fastest memory speed, but that is good if you like to tweak... Why not just give us the 2133 speed and be done with it?

Other Thoughts: Also installed the AMD3+ AMD 6300 Vishera 6 Core, Win 7 64bit OS, 500 watt PSU and a GIGABYTE GV-N420-2GI (rev. 3.0) GeForce GT 420 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 ATX Video Card

I stupidly used 8 gb (2 x 4) Corsair 2133 which defaulted to 1600. I placed both sticks in channel slots 1 & 2 with no problems. I did not want to overclock. I should have just got the 1866. I could have saved 50$ by getting Gskill Rpijaws X1866 or 1600. Unless you want to spend lots of time setting DRAM clocks, just get the 1866 or 1600 not 2133 (OC). The are plenty of Mobo's that list 2133 without having to set timings and voltages that may have a disastrous results.
I installed a 3 pipe arctic cooler (recommend 4 pipe instead because processor is big and the 3 pipe footprint is small, but amazingly, still cools very well) and CPU is running a 14 idle to 30 C under load. The Northbridge pipe is NOT hot because I have a small fan blowing over it. The stock cooler directs SOME air over the NB. If you install another cooler, be sure the NB is being cooled too!

My Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4L (un-OC'd Intel) board has been running for 7 years without any issues. Still ungodly fast.

Honestly, I think some or most of the problems others have indicated are due to installer error or using non compatible parts. CHECK the web site for compatible memory and CPU's. After reading the reviews I was hesitant but since Gigabyte rocks so I went with this board and have no regrets.

My next upgrade/build will feature the GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-D3H FM2+ / FM2 AMD A88X (Bolton D4) 8 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
with a AMD A10-7850K Kaveri 12 Compute Cores (4 CPU + 8 GPU) 3.7GHz Socket FM2+ 95W AD785KXBJABOX Desktop Processor AMD Radeon R7 series
and Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model PV38G213C1KBL
All for about 250$ from Newwegg.

At first I thought I got a DOA but after I plugged in the power cord and switched the PSU on, it started. DUH.

I received all the build parts in 3 1/2 days FEDEX

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Moba

Pros: It works like it is supposed to. The only issue I had was the thermal gel dried and caused the CPU to shut down, but that happens and it was an easy fix.

Cons: None, and I have had it for some time now.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest getting this to future proof you build. It is a very good quality mobo.

1 out of 5 eggsUSB 3 ports stopped working

Pros: It works despite the first one being DOA and the second one having defective USB 3 ports.

Cons: The first one I received was DOA which caused me a lot of undue stress. This board also doesn't come with a system speaker so there's no easy way to tell the board is dead unless you buy a special motherboard speaker... So anyways I had to tear down my entire computer piece by piece and RMA the board. I got the new one, which I then had to pay a professional $50 to put my new computer together because I was sick and tired of dealing with this after the first board. So the guy puts it together and all seems right with the world, for about ONE week... and THEN the USB 3.0 ports suddenly stop working. I no longer have the ENERGY to return the board and be without my computer a second time.

Other Thoughts: Never had such a bad experience with a motherboard. Stay away!

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely pleased

Pros: Great for first time PC builders.
I installed mine with no problems in about an hour, mostly because everything is labeled very clearly.
If it says USB then it's going to work when you plug the case's USB wire in.

Pretty easy to install the CPU/Motherboard/Ram.

Rather arousing design.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Budget Board

Pros: On first impression, it's a nice board for the money. Nice black color, decent connector layout, and decently thick board. The BIOS is fairly easy to use and also has a failed boot recovery option incase you mess overclocking up. Drivers disc has everything you need to get up and running after a fresh install, just be sure to install the software and drivers under advanced and un-check bloatware.

Cons: There is a heat sink on the right center of the board that is very very loose, wiggling unnecessarily much when touching it.

I do not like that the south bridge, north bridge and power smoothing circuits use the same heatsink pipe.

No overclocking headroom at all on a FX-8120 processor (4.8ghz was attainable on air on a ASRock 990fx Xtreme).

Cannot clock RAM to the designed XMP profile either, will not boot.

1 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3

Pros: None

Cons: Lots

Other Thoughts: Board came DOA sent in for repair because wouldn't post. Board now post beeps then shuts down. I build for fun and don't mind fixing a problem here and there but this is not fun. If Gigabyte reads this please don't bother sending me a repair number just send me a new board. Get my info from NEWEGG and take care of it. I will be waiting for the new board and when I get it I will put the broken board in the box and ship it back to you. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs6 months and not a single problem

Pros: Awesome bang to buck ratio. Easy to overclock CPU. AMD FX 6350. using 1600 mhz ram 2x4 and 2x8 total of 24 mb. And a pair of Vapor x R9 280 X GPUs 1000 watt gold power supply. I've not had a single issue with this board. I don't know if I am just lucky, or if other people are having compatibility issues. Don't be afraid of this board, it's been great.

Cons: Doesn't like high mhz ram

Other Thoughts: If you are planning on using all four dimm slots, I wouldn't recommend any higher than 1600 mhz. If you want to go higher, go with ASUS M5A99FX . My son has the ASUS board and runs 32 GB PC3 2400. His cost more money, but they are both wery fast.

3 out of 5 eggsshorted

Pros: Has all the connections you need in a board, looks amazing in your case

Cons: short in the board, never plugged power to the board before everything was together besides when i tested the psu alone, but when i turn the system on it struggles to power up, lights up and turns right back off in two seconds, then repeats about another 5 times tll it posts and there might be a display, but the msi graphics card lights up so ik it has power...

Other Thoughts: other wise a very good board, im sure i just got a bad one off the shelf

5 out of 5 eggsREV 4.1

Pros: The product shown here is rev 4.0, the one I received is rev 4.1 which is similar to the one sold in other regions. A friend of mine has the rev 4.0, so we compared the two. lots of noticeable changes. New Southbridge, Northbridge, and MosFet heat spreaders provide a much improved cooling to the board. The cooper heat pipe is now nickel plated (or polished to have a gunmetal look to it), which accents the boards looks much better. The onboard audio has been improved and now has solid gold caps which adds a nice touch and further separates the audio components from the rest of the board. The UEFI bios is simple and easy to use. All in all an excellent board.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Totally recommend this for AMD gamers. My FX9590 is at 5.8ghz overclocked with water cooling, and the board is stable, cool, and seems like it can go for more. I'm currently shooting for 6ghz, but I'm taking baby steps..lol.. The new features and improvements make this an excellent Gigabyte product. Much thanks to Newegg for staying up-to-date with the latest revisions.
