2 out of 5 eggsIt's okay, but has issues

Pros: Plenty of USB 2.0 ports
Has worked for almost 4 years now

Cons: Not enough USB 3.0 ports
UEFI support is buggy
Won't boot from some SSDs
Random other boot issues
Says it supports 1866 RAM, but it won't boot with my G.Skill Sniper 1866 unless I clock it down to 1600

Other Thoughts: This board has served me pretty well over the past few years (going on four in a couple months!) However, its long life has been plagued with issues. I have never had so many booting issues with a motherboard! At first it was trouble booting from a flash drive to install Windows on day one (THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE ISSUE) and I had to image clone my flash drive to a DVD to get Windows installed. Also on day one I had trouble with my 1866MHz ram not running at 1866MHz (it wouldn't boot unless I clocked it down to 1600MHz) even though the board said 1866 is supported. I've tried all the firmware updates with no luck. As of recently I have a brand new SSD that the motherboard refuses to boot off of! It will boot windows or linux in any other computer, but the second it's attached to this motherboard, it won't boot. Although I'm typing this review on my computer with this motherboard right now, I have had way more trouble than I should have.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product, no regrets

Pros: Bought in 2012, still use now in 2016 and I game everyday. Very reliable as far as I'm concerned. It's the last "stock" part from my 2012 build.

Cons: After updating the driver in 2013 sometimes the computer will fail to start and reboot. This is only minor though as it never happens twice in a row and with my SSD bootup times are short. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 star.

4 out of 5 eggsBest motherboard by far

Pros: This motherboard was included in my very first build made for myself with the help of my friend and it was the start of a new addiction: building computers. I first used this motherboard in 2012 with my build and I've used this motherboard, specifically Gigabyte branded motherboards for all builds I've done for friends and family. The simplicity of this motherboard from the labels to the easily readable SATA and front panel connector ports, assembling your computer with this motherboard is an ease.

After having experienced a MSI motherboard which I thought was one of the top brand of motherboards out there, I'm always going to go with Gigabyte because of their warranty, excellent customer service, and easy signage for old and new builders alike. I was also very surprised that it was able to handle the FX series processors with ease since I started out with the Phenom series at the beginning. So far there have been little to no problems at all with this motherboard, but the one flaw I'll explain in the cons section. Everything is still running splendid and if this motherboard were to fail, I'll still and always go for Gigabyte like I did for everyone else.

Cons: The only problem I have with this motherboard is the onboard sound audio. I'm not sure if it is because of my motherboard because I haven't tested to see if the problem occurs with other motherboards but the onboard sound audio makes my mic sensitivity really sensitive no matter how low I can put it. I have friends who use the same microphone/headset as I do and even with the same settings, my microphone/headset is still more sensitive than theirs, although this isn't too big of an issue because I can just easily mute my mic.

Other Thoughts: If I were able to give a 4.5/5 I most definitely would because the audio issue isn't too big of a deal.

1 out of 5 eggsbum steer

Pros: It was fun while it lasted. ( about 6 months )

Cons: after 1/2 year it became unstable random lockups, BSOD and failure to boot correctly, no amount of test / debug could fix it. was tracked down to faulty mother board.

ended up swapping it with a GA-970A-UD3P
that solved it.

Other Thoughts: Tried to RMA it but was sent back NPF, and I took a chance and built a 2nd system out of it with new parts and that failed too, RMAed it again and it was once again sent back NPF.

It is now high-tech landfill

5 out of 5 eggsProblem free 2.5 years later

Pros: -Gigabyte quality.
-Gigabyte reliability.
-Plenty of features and expandability.

Cons: -SATA ports face horizontally. This isn't a significant con though, as it really just forces you to get a bit more creative with your cable management.

Other Thoughts: May not have all the latest fads packed in, but has a lot of great up-to-date features with typical Gigabyte reliability and quality.

5 out of 5 eggsA Solid Foundation

Pros: A solid, stable motherboard with a great feature set and an easy-to-use traditional BIOS. I specifically wanted an AM3+ motherboard with a built-in Firewire IEEE1394 port for importing video from my digital video camera, and this board has fit the bill nicely.

Cons: I honestly can't think of anything. I'd happily buy this board again.

Other Thoughts: I built a desktop using this board as the foundation for an FX-8350 processor, 16Gb of DDR3 1333 RAM, and a Radeon HD7770 video card. After a year of solid performance, I've replaced the video card with two R7 260X cards running in crossfire, and I've upgraded from Windows Vista 64 to Windows 8.1 64-bit. I'm still completely with this motherboard, and the Crossfire graphics running perfectly even with the secondary PCI-E 16X slot only having 4X mode available. This motherboard is a solid foundation for a system build, and a great value.
