3 out of 5 eggsNo longer overclockes ram, cant upgrade MEI

Pros: Works, affordable, supports quad sli and xfire

Cons: When it arrived, BIOS did not support the 4820k chip i had. I had to borrow a less powerful chip then flash it to the most recent BIOS.

The board used to overclock the ram to 2133 well, but now it does not allow it and if i attempt to do it multiple times, the bios corrupts and has to pre-load it.

The Intel Management Engine Interface drivers do not work and the board continues to show the driver is not installed correctly

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Been running straight for over a month now, without any issues. I've always had good luck with Gigiabye motherboards. No installation or POST issues at all. This board has a very solid feel to it, not flimsy at all. Drivers installed 100% without any issues as well...

Cons: None so far

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: This brand continues to impress. I'm a long time fan of ASUS and switched to thsi brand a few years ago when my ASUS was out of stock and needed an immediate replacement.

Never went back to ASUS. Same effectiveness for a lower price.

Cons: I'd kill for two extra USB 3.0 slots and exterior CMOS reset, pegging it down a star for it.

2 out of 5 eggsBuggy

Pros: Works and overclocks.

Cons: Only two USBs work in the back, the others randomly go out. The bios works but keeps forgetting the settings.
You will have to put a fan over the VRMs since it under clock the CPU after a 20 minutes (When Overclocked).

Other Thoughts: I still trust gigabyte but spending close to 300 on this I'll probably go with something else next time.

Why not RMA? 2000 dollar paperweight and I'll wait till it stops booting.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Gigabyte
Durable
x79
3d bios
many many options, I love Gigabyte because I know they are durable and are just a solid platform to build our workstations on with all the bells and whistles we would ever need to OC and keep our machines up to date.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: We paired this with i7-4930k CPU and Dominator GT 16gb 2133 RAM.. More then we could ever ask for!

Will be around for many years to come!

now to talk management into upgrading all of our workstations!

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Motherboard Ever - Big time BIOS issues

Pros: Haven't seen any pros

Cons: Second board I received, and the same problem. It will not beep at POST and can't access the BIOS. I've flashed the BIOS to the most current revision successfully, and still nothing. I've been trying to build this system for about a month now, and have to see if I can trade in for another Mobo. Unreal. I've never had so many issues with a build.

Other Thoughts: I'm really disappointed with Gigabyte and won't every purchase another Gigabyte board. Ever!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your GIGABYTE product.

If you are not able to access the BiOS, try your USB KB/Mouse in the naitive Intel USB ports. Due to a Windows limitation, the Fresco USB ports may not function during post, and will activate once Windows loads their driver.

If you require further assistance, please contact us at newegg-support@gigabyte-usa.com with the case number 2013081201. Include your complete system configuration. Please explain in more detail your issue.

2 out of 5 eggsBad Board

Pros: 5 year coverage

Cons: Unfortunately board went out, lost time, lost money, lost work. This is the second item out of the 2000.00 plus dollars I spent on parts to go out on me in less than a year.
