4 out of 5 eggsNot bad...

Pros: I bought this MB with the crucial balistix BLS4G3D169DS3 (2x4Gig),
a lot of people complain about troubles getting the MB and memory to work at 1333Mhz
I dont care if it only runs at 1066, I dont plan to overclock the MB
I am very happy that the MB worked first shot
I didn't explore the BIOS yet, but it looks very complete, there seems to be a ton of options

Cons: only 4 Sata ports, but it has a PCIE1X, so If I want to build a raid with more than 4 disks, I'll buy a PCIE card

Other Thoughts: This MB with crucial memory are both light blue...it's kinda cute !

1 out of 5 eggsGigabyte ga-g41mt-s2pt

Pros: ONLY LGA 775 MB AVAILABLE THAT SUPPORTS DDR3

Cons: WHICH DDR3? Here's the problem... I tried this board with a q9550,e1400,e2180,e8500.. with GDDR3 G.SKILL Ripjaws Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 8gb of RAM... Wouldnt boot at all. Would not boot with a Crucial Balistix 4gb module either!. Booted with 3 of the 4 working cpu's with a 1gb ddr3 generic year 2010 stick module!

IT IS 2014 PLEASE REFLECT YOUR MOTHERBOARD RAM COMPATIBILITY LIST WITH THE NEWER DDR3 MODULE'S..

All of the DDR3 Modules that are on your site are either out of stock.. discontinued...

Other Thoughts: This motherboard is housing a cpu that was made for ddr2.. with a controller that is using ddr3.. (i had my q9550 in a previous asus ddr3 board. worked great)

Some of the newer ddr3 rams.. are diffrent somehow.. We don't know which ones work and which one's do.. it is a hit or a miss... All over the internet you can read reveiws of people ordering this board and sometimes the same type of ram that worked for someone wouldnt work for someone else. Im not having this issue .. skip this.. trust me. Gigabyte you dropped the ball.. We don't know what memory to order... your list is too old!!

5 out of 5 eggsgigabyte and XP

Pros: After trying to install XP on an ASUS motherboard and running into all sorts of driver issues, I bought the Gigabyte MB on a hunch as it had PATA interface as well as SATA. Works great with XP. Even had drivers for SATA so have installed SSD drive. I like W7 best, but I have a lot of legacy software that won't run on W7. I now have two Gigabyte MBs, one for AMD FX 6300 and another for Intel Quad duo, both running XP. These are my first experiences with GB as in the past I have always used Asus, but I may settle on GB from now on as my board of choice.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I think MS is up to its old tricks of making new OS incompatable with legacy software to force the buyer to update. They have been doing this for years. Yes, I tried the MS XP emulator in W7 and it was a joke.

4 out of 5 eggsQuit with the complaints!!!

Pros: Solid board to get some use out of that older Dual core CPU!
Will run DDR 3 ram!
Can install Windows 7 without any trouble!
Please see other thoughts!

Cons: Finicky about certain memory use!

Other Thoughts: I'm so sick and tired of reading "COMPLAINTS" as opposed to a real review of a functioning motherboard!

Look if you buy a board and decide to wait over 30 days to test it you have no one to blame buy yourself!

If you get a DOA board from any manf. simply send it back to Newegg within 30 days and they will replace it!

To all the complainers out there! Motherboards will arrive DOA just as all other computer parts can!

It's not a big deal and it has happened to probably everyone at one time of another over the years!

When you write a review that is actually a complaint about a DOA board your not helping anyone, period!!!!!

Geez.... stop with the complaints already and just accept the fact that parts are cheaper than they have ever been and there is a cost for that! The cost is usually poor quality control!

So either except the fact that your getting a much better price at the expense of a manf. not testing every single part that they mass produce!

Geez... I'm so sick of all these complaints about DOA hardware! " TEST YOUR PARTS WHEN THEY ARRIVE" and stop with the COMPLAINTS that don't help anyone!

Newegg is turning into Am**** with all the horrible reviews !

Also, people please stop with the "EGO" with your tech status!

In all the reviews I have read over the last 5 years I have only seen one guy that was honest enough to rate his knowledge base at a 2 Egg status!

What a great and honest man!!

I mean please! I once read a review of a guy who was putting together his very "FIRST BUILD" and rated him self as a 4 Egg tech knowledge base.

Really? Your very first build and your rating yourself with a 3 or 4 with your tech knowledge!

Stop with the EGO! I'm quite certain there are many Level 3 Computer techs like myself that just laugh when they see tech rankings like this on Newegg.

I mean it's gotten to the point that I have to actually read all the 4 and 5 egg ratings one at a time, and read between the lines to see who really knows what he or she is talking about!

People need to get real with there tech level ratings and get Newegg back to being a truly accurate web site where anyone can actually gain a little knowledge from reading reviews as opposed to being forced to read between the lines of all these EGOCENTRIC newbies that don't understand half of what they think they do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you get 10 years of hands on experience and have a few hundred new builds under your belt then you can rate yourself a 4 or 5 that others can respect!!!!!!!!!!!!

I happen to have worked in I.T. since back in 1994 and have had hands on experience with all the hardware released since that time.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent LGA775 replacement

Pros: Low price and good build quality. Stable and reliable over this past 2 weeks of burn-in testing. Some (limited) overclocking abilities and DDR3 RAM up to 8GB. IDE (PATA), serial and parallel ports without using ribbon connectors and back plane panel slots. Additional USB connectors on the motherboard for a total of 8 USB 2.0 possible (4 on the back and 4 via the motherboard). PCI-E 1X slot is not blocked by PCI-E 16x slot and double width cards, still leaves a regular PCI slot open, too!

Cons: Only 8GB max and can be finicky about which 4GB modules it likes. Only 4 SATA connections.

Other Thoughts: Transplanted my Core2 Quad Q9550 onto this board with G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Model F3-1333C9D-8GIS. Installed an EVGA GTX750-Ti SC. No problems with memory compatibility and system runs well. Added an Inateck PCI-E to USB 3.0 2-Port PCI-E 1X Card and now have USB 3.0 ports x4 (2 internal 20-pin header and 2 external). For general usage I can't see a need to upgrade. For heavy duty work the 8GB limit can be a problem, though.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Another great Gigabyte product. Used G.Skill memory (2X2GB) memory modules and it works perfectly. Reasonably fast, ultra cheap (older 775 CPUs are plentiful at low prices), and DDR3 speeds. Happy with the results. Will buy more, especially considering the savings from cheap CPUs.

Cons: Did not work with one 4GB Kingston HyperX Fury module but did work with the two G.Skill modules.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte/s website lists memory modules that work with this motherboard, but many are hard to find, so two G.Skill modules are a safe bet. I don't know if the motherboard will work with only one module, so buy two. Chances are that if this motherboard won't work for you, it is the memory modules, not the motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from Gigabyte

Pros: None

Cons: Sent back to gigabyte because it was dead. they sent it back dead. All components work except the motherboard. tested by putting components in another machine. what a waste of money and time.
