4 out of 5 eggsit works

Pros: it revived a friends sff system for a reasonable price.
W7/e6850/2-4GB dimms riptide/wd raptor/quadro fx3500.
mild over-clocking features.

Cons: typical gigabyte bios issues;
boot cycle; powers on for a couple seconds/shuts off/powers back on then continues to finally boot windows.
no bios updates.
no extreme memory profile sensing and had to enter timings manually.

Other Thoughts: i guess i got the last one so this review is most likely a waste of my time.

3 out of 5 eggsworked for a while

Pros: its a mATX and supports DDR3

Cons: worked fine for 1.5 months, and then would reboot. shut off, and now will not post. have tested all the components in a friends s775 intel chipset boards (another manufacturer and a gigabyte board he owns), and no problems in either. so i now have a paper weight, and since its over 30 days, newegg wont rma, and Gigabyte is impossible to deal with as an end user. registered, and here i sit without a confirmation email or means to pursue a RMA.

Other Thoughts: i have generally not had cause to seek an RMA with a Gigabyte MoBo, but there is always and exception. i now have mine... my studio is dead in the water and I am left to buy another computer? a week down for a speedy RMA is acceptable, I however cannot even get past the registration to request. does not bode well for future purchases, and i am more than dissappointed with this lack of end user care.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent board

Pros: LGA 775
DDR3

Cons: Only one PCI-e x16 slot

Other Thoughts: Works like a champ with Gskill 1333MHz RAM and E8400 Core2Duo @ 3GHz w/ 1333MHz FSB (Stock)...

Paired with 640GT video and runs really nice for little money..

5 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE GA-G41MT-S2PT Followup

Pros: Bought quite a few of these from Newegg over that past 2 years for my clients. Good luck with all of them so far (knock on wood). Solid quality caps and very stable. XP, Win7, and Win8 works fine with them. I personally recommend Win7 64. The biggest mistake most make with this board and the Asrock G41M-S3 is trying to tweak memory and older 775 CPUs. There is no substitute for researching the supported CPUs and memory listing for any board. "Load optimized defaults" in the BIOS is your friend. And a good clean power supply with 20 Amps or more on at least one 12 volt rail is the basic starting point for any reliable system.

Cons: No cons here. Thanks for giving new life to LGA 775 CPUs. Still a lot of them out there and many are good performers.

Other Thoughts: OK, Asus. Show a little love for the LGA 775 owners out there.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked great; bought over a year ago and is still working

Pros: ♦Easy to overclock CPU's
♦DDR3 RAM supported
♦Most/all LGA775 CPU's supported
♦4 SATA(3gb/s) ports
♦3 year warrant
♦Dual Bios
♦2 RAM slots each supporting 4gb

Cons: ♦Not SATA 6gb/s
♦Only one PCIe x16 (v1) slot

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this from Newegg but I did buy *this*. I have owned this for more than a year and there is been no problems because of the motherboard and because of this I recommend this for older/budget systems.

I do not know much about audio but I would say the on board audio is fine

3 out of 5 eggsaggrevating but works

Pros: it does work

Cons: bios is horrible , does not bypass hard drive to disc drive if you do not use a non wiped or new hard drive

Other Thoughts: i originally thought the board was doa or the sata controllers were bad but i believe its a flaw with the bios , ive used other boards with american megatrend bios and i can use hard drives with drivers and ops from another build in them and it will correctly read the disc first without trying to read the hard drive content incorrectly. This board, however regardless of how you set up the boot device priority will keep trying to read the hard drive first and lock keyboard when you try to get it to read the cd first unless you have a clean wiped hard drive or new one. This is very inconvienent since i reuse hard drives to test different builds. I know the boards for this socket are getting hard to find ,and i still recommend this board over anything foxconn or ecs comes out with but for the price id pick an asrock board thats still available or try to find a P5G41 model asus board which is my top choice over this one

2 out of 5 eggsGreat board....when it worked

Pros: The bios on this board is very easy to set up and was overclocking my C2D right away. Windows 7 booted fast using an SSD and 8GB of RAM. Brought new life to an older CPU.

Cons: This board worked great right away. I have been using it since 11/2012 without a problem....till last night. Decided to reboot the computer....and it never came back on. I have verified that the power supply is good. I do not get any beeps from the motherboard speaker, yes I plugged a speaker into the header! Going to have to RMA through Gigabyte and wait the 2 business weeks for a replacement. For the price of these, it would be nice if they could send a replacement right away when I send my defective one back.

Before anyone asks...I have removed everything from the board except power connections, CPU and a speaker plugged into the header to hear the beep codes. Removed the CMOS battery and reset it via the jumper numerous times. Not a single beep out of the speaker.

It is almost like the BIOS is in a loop as when it rebooted the DVD drives kept activating over and over.

Other Thoughts: While it is a great board, this is my first experience with Gigabyte. I hope the RMA goes quickly. Shame to waste a good C2D!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

Your described condition of no video, and no post beep codes suggest a failure of the processor to initialize during post. This could be caused by a number of reasons such as a failed CPU, failed VRM components from overclocking, etc. For this condition, your motherboard will need to be anaylized further in our Service lab to determine the exact cause.
