1 out of 5 eggsRandom crashing

Pros: It has most of the features I needed.

Cons: I first purchased memory that should have worked with this motherboard, but wouldn't even boot. After getting another set, it finally boots. But the major issue with this board, is random crashing. I can't figure what is causing it.

4 out of 5 eggsNo problems so far

Pros: Easy to install. I just rebuilt an old Dell XPS 730 with a Core 2/Quad Core processor. I purchased some 2 x 4 PNY DDR3 PC3-10666 sticks and the system booted up immediately. I'm just an average tech guy but so far I've had minimal problems with the install.

Cons: As this board is smaller than the original the CPU cooler can't be mounted to blow out the back so I've had to mount it sideways.

4 out of 5 eggsoverall not bad

Pros: This motherboard is fine for an office machine. The documentation is good. The motherboard has been stable so far.

Cons: One and a half cons:
First, I cannot seem to get this motherboard to recognize any USB storage devices, either as boot devices or under Windows. I was able to work around this problem by installing a PCI USB card.
Second, with regards to memory requirements, let me weigh in: this motherboard uses a little bit older chipset. Newer memory modules are "single sided" whereas this board needs the older "double sided" type. To max out this board order G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBNT, also available from NewEgg. G.skill F3-8500CL7D-8GBRL will NOT work with this board.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad that NewEgg is willing to stock items like this whose technology is a couple of years old. It enables me to re-use some older components and still put together a decent system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board for legacy sytem but beware of memory limitations

Pros: Great board for legacy hardware.

Cons: One egg off due to the memory limitations with 4GB sticks. The board works with most 1GB & 2GB RAM, but not 4GB sticks. If you're looking at 4GB sticks, beware, only two or three brands are listed on the QVL. Samsung, AMD and Apacer I believe are the only ones, otherwise you're stuck with 1GB or 2GB sticks. .

Other Thoughts: Good board to breath life back into older components, but the fact that you're pretty much limited to 1GB or 2GB sticks, kinda defeats my plans. I bought two 4GB sticks to max out the RAM and guess what, no go... Now I have to spend more money to buy more RAM and wait longer to get it going.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: Works with 775 socket

Cons: It's junk ! The worst board that I have ever had.
At first it was random rebooting.
Now it goes Black while booting. Black while posting, and if able to boot, and go into windows it goes black while windows is loading. If you keep rebooting a dozen times windows will finally start.

Other Thoughts: JUNK, JUNK, JUNK !!!

4 out of 5 eggsGood board!

Pros: One of the last few boards out there that support 775 with the benefit of DDR3 memory.

Cons: The memory compatibility issue does exist. GIGABYTE hasn't updated their compatibility list in a few years.

Other Thoughts: I came to my own conclusion that this board works with 1st generation AKA older DDR3 memory. DDR3 memory has changed somehow today in that a new PC3-10600 won't work but an old PC3-10600 will work with this board.

I had newer memory that didn't work. When you turn on the PC it won't POST and no display will show. If you have a computer speaker plugged in it will just run a continuous beep.

Going off of my 1st gen DDR3 memory theory, I tested DDR3 memory from a 2 year old Dell 990 with success, plus the same model memory with a higher speed with success.

To help you out, the two models of memory that I tested with success are Micron 2x4 GB MT16KTF51264AZ-1G6M1 PC3-12800U.

The 2nd set that worked out of the old Dell 990 is 2x4 GB Micron MHz MT16JTF51264AZ-1G4M1 PC3-10600 1333.

I found both of them used online at an auction site.

5 out of 5 eggsReplacement board

Pros: Simple
Basic
Small form
Solid

Cons: Lacks HDMI, but was not required for what I built.

Other Thoughts: This was a replacement board for another Gigabyte board that stopped working(GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45). This is a barebones board that boots with no issue. It uses DDR3 which makes it faster than the board it replaced.

4 out of 5 eggsHave Proc, Need board

Pros: Fits a Thousand dollar CPU from days of old.

Inexpensive.

Will make sister happy when she finds I've given her a "monster" PC.

Cons: None other than it's a small MB. Only 2 Ram slots.

Other Thoughts: It works. Bios options are... limited, but that doesn't matter, you just want a functional PC with old tech.

-Works like a charm

-Make it happen

-Don't install a GPU above a 750 TI

-Party hard

-Erryday
