5 out of 5 eggsGreat board, running solid for 1+yr

Pros: Board came packaged great, plug and play was awesome since no one likes dealing with DOA items. Drivers installed with included CD [which was a pain since I didn't have a CD reader --anywho..] were installed super easily and had no conflicts with any drivers from other hardware.

Cons: Can't think of anything bad to say about the mother board. It wasn't free?

Other Thoughts: This was my first gaming build, and I am glad I chose this MOBO. I have it in a Corsair C70 case, with no additional fans, an Intel i5 3570k Oc'd to 4.0ghz cooled by a Corsair H60 water cooler. At the moment it runs with a 7850, and multiple SSD's (one for OS, one for games, one for media, etc). This is a great board, and if you ever plan to reinstall everything the drivers are easy to get online, which is always a plus.

5 out of 5 eggsStill running good.

Pros: This board has been running solid almost 2 years straight. No issues, ever. Overclocked an i7, 3770k to 4.2 ghz, no issues. I have it running in a room that can warm in the summer and it's never crapped out on me. I keep the firmware and drivers up to date, run it on a UPS with a rosewill 750W power supply. I've upgraded the video card out twice with no issues. I had some issues getting the memory working, but after some tinkering with the settings following gigabyte's advice, it was up and running. This box is still a competitive gaming PC and almost 2 years old. Fantastic!!

Cons: I wish it was lower in price, and it's also sad they don't make it anymore. I'm sure the newer mobos from Gigabyte are just as good.

Other Thoughts: I've had this board for over a year and a half and it is still running solid, agree with previous poster "Anonymous
5/7/2014 11:23:25 AM". I too enjoy receiving boards that work out of the box and gigabyte comes through every time. I ran ASUS boards consistently for about several years and about half of them were DOA. Out of frustration I began trying Gigabyte boards about 4 years ago. The only hardware issue I ever had was a non-functioning onboard NIC out of the box, which was easily remedied with a firmware update.

Also - lawl at everyone who marks their "tech knowledge" at 4 & 5 stars

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, stable board

Pros: I enjoy receiving boards that are not DOA. gigabyte delivers. I know everyone says asus is the best, but I've had too many DOA"s from them over the years to stay on that bandwagon. This board is rock solid, no major issues, still runs hard after 2 years. I run 24x7 sometimes in a warm room during summer and never had a failure of this board. That seems to me that they put this board together with quality in mind.

Cons: I wish the memory was further away from the cpu slightly for heat dissipation.

Other Thoughts: I will continue to purchase gigabyte mobos in the future, they are quality gear in my humble opinion. Don't fall for the asus hype, their gear is not up to par! This is my 4th gigabyte board in the past 6 years, and I still use all of them to date. I love how everyone on here is tech level 4+

1 out of 5 eggsStill garbage

Pros: RMA of first board only took a week and a half, and I live 6 hours from the "repair" facility apparently.

Cons: Had to RMA because this board refused to boot with 3 graphics cards attached. After paying for shipping and waiting, it would appear nothing was fixed at all.
I have lost productivity, and Gigabyte would simply have me ship the board back (again); which will not happen.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

They were given their one chance to make this right, and failed.

Any response by Gigabyte to this review is meaningless. Trust that.

Other Thoughts: Buy from another manufacturer. Plain and simple.

Gigabyte will waste your time/money with the RMA process; and most likely your product will arrive in the same manner it left.

I have completely lost respect for Gigabyte, there was a time when I believed they really were the best (in terms of customer service/satisfaction) those days are gone.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat but...

Pros: Great, powerful, clean and feature full

Cons: Has been failing on post about 4 weeks after I got it. I didn't realize it was such an issue until a friend pointed it out to me and now it bugs me so much.

If I reboot, it won't always post, just hangs on the American Megatrends logo. It's so sad I was really liking this motherboard and in the past I've never had issues with Gigabyte. I wish they could do something to help me. Please contact me, Gigabyte.

Other Thoughts: I'll change the rating when Gigabyte helps me out. The sad thing is that I don't want to RMA it because they won't cross ship one to me. Then I'll be without a motherboard and a computer!

1 out of 5 eggsGA-Z77X-UD5H

Pros: works good without external video card.

Cons: I bought the GA-Z77X-UD5H(rev. 1.1) and I intermittently receive a debug 15 and 53 cycled reboot if I have the external EVGA GTX 760 installed. I originally thought that it was the graphics card because almost everything worked (no reboots) so I sent the GTX back. About a month later I bought another graphics card and had the same reboot problem. I’m not a gamer or over clocker and run the bios with the defaults.

I’ve checked the RAM, updated the BIOS, checked compatibility, voltages, and about a dozen other things that never helped. Of course I Googled, Youtube and read every forum on this motherboard that I could find. A lot of people are having reboot issues with this board. I’m perplexed why the board has such high reviews – maybe I got a lemon. The other issue that I had was that only half of my Steelseries keyboard would light up sometimes. I thought that maybe there was an issue with the keyboard.

I used Gigabytes webpage to ask for technical help. They would reply with a one-at-a-time response such as try this and then a few days later, try this…. This went on for over a week and then I did their online survey with dissatisfied answers. I’m an IT guy and I know when I’m getting help from the C team. I told them everything that I tried and then they would reply with some common sense thing that I already tried. I’ve spent over 30 hours on this problem! They finally said that if I wanted, I could use their RMA process and they would look at the motherboard. I then had to start all over again with submitting for an RMA. I guess that their online support and their RMA process is not connected.

I finally bought another motherboard (ASRock Z77) and everything is working perfectly (even the keyboard backlighting). I sent the bad motherboard to Gigabyte and am awaiting the return. From the help that I’ve received so far, I bet that they won’t find anything wrong with it.

Other Thoughts: I'll follow up with this later.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product, some issues

Pros: Great looking, not a fancy as say, a Sabretooth but the blue and black give it a clean sophisticated design. I used this is a platform for a Hackintosh and one of the benefits is it doesn't require a too almost any modding of kexts to boot up. Plenty of pci slots, sata ports and access. I also like the bios and the LCD on the board gives error codes. Finally it comes with a built in power switch so there's no need to hotwire for a test boot.

Cons: Still experiencing boot problems. If there is an HDMI cable plugged into the port on the back then there the system goes into a continuous reboot cycle when starting up or shutting down. This may not affect many people but the RAM slots were close enough to the edge of the board that the RAM heat-syncs were conflicting with a fan body. I eventually had to cut a slot in the fan body so both would fit.

Other Thoughts: While I've been working on machines for years this was my first build from scratch. While there have been some glitches, overall the product is great and I would recommend it to other first time builders

1 out of 5 eggsBoard died 6 months in

Pros: Good features, USB 3, lots of Sata Ports

Cons: Board died less than a year after purchasing it and shipping it overseas. Thought it could be the PSU - so swapped that out - no joy. Checked memory and CPU - but still no joy. Contacted Gigabyte who weren't very helpful and insisted it would cost $100 or more to RMA it. Thats half the cost of the board in the first place. Shouldn't have to buy a new board when this one is under 1 year old since purchase. Very disappointed as Gigabyte Boards have been generally very reliable..up until this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent MB, Superb Durability

Pros: The GA-Z77X-UD5H if one of the best Gigabyte boards I've seen, and is extremely durable from the grilling I put them through in custom casing mine. The on-board video with an Intel Sandy- or Ivy- bridge CPU with video is Fantastic and simple to configure - allowing me to off-load my non-gaming monitor video to the CPU and thus boosting the power of my main GPU. It has a ton of USB port options, including one that is more directly in-line with the CPU. The BIOS is easy to configure and yet gives me a ton of flexibility on frequency and tuning settings. It also doesn't get too hot, and I am able to run mine with a Zalmann Reserator 1 water-cooling system (the old tower-style) and the whole system stays under 90 degrees F even after playing Skyrim and other games on max settings. This board gets as close to a single-MB system for gaming that I have seen thus far, though you do still need a separate video card for hardcore gaming. I have purchased 4 of these boards thus far, and am Very satisfied with them - I would highly recommend them.

Cons: Doesn't support water cooling as well as previous Gigabyte motherboards, but with a little modding I got everything into place. Price is high but I can't really complain given the quality.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lots of features, back panel is filled with ports.
TRIM works in RAID0! (this is the main reason I'm upgrading from P67 chipset to Z77)

Cons: Unstable, constantly random reboots, freezes, bios reset and even corruption.

Other Thoughts: Waking up computer from sleep usually bringing reboot (with several automatic shut down for 2 seconds each) then message about BIOS was restored or needs to be reset to default (which by the way was all default other then disabling unused ports and hard drives related settings)
The latest, one year old bios that is available at gigabyte website is BETA and absolutely unstable. If can freeze at boot with no way restoring it without opening computer case, then it say that bios is corrupted and copies "old" version from secondary chip.
Attempting install USB3 driver on Windows 7 x64 causes BSOD
3D BIOS is absolutely a joke, good thing they don't shove it in your throat: once you switched to "advanced" mode, it stays there.

In the past I've had nothing but problems with Gigabyte motherboards and hoped they've changed by now, evidently not much.
They make hands down best feature-rich boards, but quality is lacking.

This was the last time I bought a Gigabyte motherboard, never again.

I'm giving an extra egg as a curtsy for the features it offers and that it might not be compilable with components I've picked for my previous motherboard.

Setup:
CPU: Sandy Bridge 2600K @3.0Ghz
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB @800Hhz (9-9-9-24) (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)
PSU: Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W
