2 out of 5 eggsNice Mobo Until

Pros: Great Motherboard and worked just like its suppose to

Cons: I had to take out my 2nd video card to fix a fan. I unhooked the card and unlocked it from the mobo and when I pulled it out the 2nd PCI express port fell apart and I couldn't fix it due to leads were bent up.

Other Thoughts: I love Gigabyte but if this is how badly they put together mobo now I will probably switch brands and start buying someone else. If they fix it for free and give me no problems I might stick with them. This is where you earn customer loyalty.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

The PCIE slots have a locking tab to secure your PCIE peripheral card during movement of your complete system chassis. To remove your locked PCIE peripheral card, must release the level, and pull your PCIE peripheral card straight upwards. Not unlocking the tab or pulling your PCIE peripheral card at an angle, may damage the PCIE slot itself.

If you followed the removal of PCIE peripheral cards instructions from the User Manual, and have an issue, please contact us at newegg-support@gigabyte-usa.com with the case number 2013031804 in the subject line. Or contact our Live Technical Support at 626-854-9338, option 3 if the matter is urgent.

1 out of 5 eggsGREAT LOOKING BOARD,BUT...

Pros: Great looking board & feature set, looked nice in my Corsair Vengeance 70 case, the Gskill Ares ram blue matches the heat sinks too, matched with the EVGA 660TI FTW and Thermaltake 2 radiator- black, gray & blue just built & ready to start the install. Hooked up the EVGA 750 watt gold psu- and.. to be cont...-see cons-I really want to make it 4 stars -I will when I get good results- NEWEGG rocks

Cons: Got her all closed up, hit the power switch on the case and....nothing-silence, opened up the case & checked all the connections, laid it on it's side to watch.. hit the power switch again &...silence. The fans on the radiator, case & card spun a 1/4 turn & nothing.. the board power button was lit but nothing but silence. I took all of the connections off & re-assembled again. Hit the power switch..1/4 spin on the fans & silence. Hmmm. I called Gigabyte & their support person suggested that i may have a short w/ the case & to take the board out of the case & start the board up on the box. I started to do that..The PCI plastic separated from the board exposing the connectors. I am, not a nube, this is the 4th personal system I have built & I knew to un hook the clip. I looked at the PCI plastic pins & noticed no retainer on the ends-poor sub assembly. I called up the Gigabyte support & they promptly connected to the RMA dept. & we set up the RMA. No harm no foul-my last build was witha Gigabyte mid-high end board & have not been happier- great solid board so I will be sticking with the brand

Other Thoughts: Anyone looking to set up a rig try looking at the Vengeance 70 in flat black with the above set-up. I have the I7 7220 chip and a Rat-7 mouse w/ the microsoft natural key board. Installing the Win 8-64 bit OS, going to use the machine for cad/bim work & the occasional fps. The whole rig when it was set up looked fantastic aesthetically- No SSD but a 1T Seagate HD- I will update when the new board is sent & the rig running-hopefully the new board will work- first MB RMA for me-It happens

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

Please continue with your RMA service. Once you receive your replacement motherboard, please also, be sure to connect both the 24pin power and the ATX12V power cables.

5 out of 5 eggsNewegg / Gigabyte Great Combo

Pros: Great board, excellent feature set, fast boot. A lot of cool built in features.

Having a Firewire port and eSata external ports is great - I have some legacy devices that still use these connections.

Cons: None - problem I had with the first board was resolved. Excellent RMA process with Newegg

Other Thoughts: I did experiment with an MSI board (same Intel Chipset) - while it was good, the Gigabyte board was better - in terms of first post, BIOS setup, and speed.

5 out of 5 eggsMy 2nd Gigabyte - Happy Again

Pros: I stopped using that 'A'-company when I got mobos that didn't last 2 years without a problem. I still use my 5-year old Gigabyte GA M61P-S3 but have relegated it to be my WinXP machine (for special reasons). After 5 problem-free years I was only interested in another Gigabyte.
This mobo is solid and does not disappoint.
I use i7-3770 with 32gb of RAM and Intel 520 SSD Win7u on the 6Gb/s Intel port as my boot drive. The other ports are full of hdd's and dvd's.
So far, so good - and I expect nothing less for the next 5 years.

Cons: no fdd port.
had to pay for it.
OK - that's really "None" for cons :)

Other Thoughts: haven't used the mSata b/c I bought a 6Gb/s SSD and the mSata is 3Gb/s.

1 out of 5 eggsAnnoying alarm

Pros: Easy to set up and install.
Fast, boots quickly(~20 sec), like the BIOS setup.
Good feature set, including eSata and Firewire (I have some old 1394 camcorders).

Fast boot with SSD and Win 8 is great - almost like a tablet!

Cons: After about 3 hours of system operation started getting an intolerable beeping motherboard alarm that will not clear. Now I get it all the time at start-up. System temps are okay, apart from the alarm the system works great. Windows experience index is 7.9, so I am not suffering there.
Sent a request in to the Gigabyte feedback, no response yet.

Other Thoughts: This motherboard is a rev 1.0 - checking the Gigabyte site the current version is 1.1 :( , even so this should have nothing to do with the alarm not clearing.
I trust that Gigabyte will return with an answer within the next day, otherwise I will RMA this...
Used to buy EVGA boards, went with Gigabyte this time because of the positive feedback. Now I regret it - all my EVGA boards worked out of the box without funky annoying hi-pitched alarms like this one.

I have been building computers for about 11 years now...

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

The audio beeping alarm is part of the health features of your GIGABYTE motherboard. Either your temperatures (CPU, or system) is above your set threshold, or your system voltage from your power supply is not within specification. If you installed the Easytune6 software, you will be able to see the error. Or you may also enter the CMOS setup, in the PC Heath Status section.

If you require further assistance, please contact us at newegg-support@gigabyte-usa.com with the case number 2013011605 in the subject line. List your complete configuration. Your may contact our Live Technical Support at 626-854-9338, option 3 if the matter is urgent.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: -- Feature heavy board, solid construction and effortless setup. -- No issues with install and config.
-- Big red button on the board - fun to push.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Waiting on an ASUS Z77 board which is slightly more expensive - normally I'm an ASUS fan but my previous board (P8P67 Pro) began to have hardware failure, causing blue screen - thought I'd try a different brand. So far I'm impressed.

5 out of 5 eggsThis board is SWEET!

Pros: This board powered right up and everything worked.
I chose this board based on features and looks. It's got both!
I'm running:
Intel core i5 2400(stock cooler)
Windows 7 64bit
60gig mSATA SSD(docked on motherboard) =)
8gig Gskill Ripjaws X(temporary)
Apevia X-JUPITER-JR G-Type X-JPJGT-BK case

I like to run a dual boot PC, so experiencing dual bios for the first time is amazing.
I flashed the primary bios to the latest(F14) and it works great.

Cons: Non yet! No blue screens here.

Other Thoughts: Now I just need to save enough for a nice video card....
Will update after some more time up and running.

4 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: I'm really happy with this mother board and have no problems.

Cons: Included wirless/bluetooth card uses up a usb port so I have to buy another card to get enough USB ports inside the case. I would recommend getting the version of this motherboard that does not have the wireless card and just buy a 3rd party card.

Other Thoughts: Works great so far and looks good inside my case

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Well. It looked real nice. But it was DOA out of the box. But this is the first Gigabyte motherboard that has gone bad out of a dozen systems I have built. So it happnes some times. I am in the RMA system now and will see how it goes.

Cons: I am going to leave the Cons empty for now till I see how the RMA process goes.

Other Thoughts: I cant blame any one for this. Being in the manufacturing industry for over 25 years, Stuff happens.
