3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price
Still works after a year, unlike some of the other reviews

Cons: Windows 7 didn't recognize some of the hardware, so I had to make a driver installation cd. This is because it won't recognize the network card, unless I install the drivers from the website. I had to download them on a separate computer, burn them to a cd, then install them to this computer.

Other Thoughts: This is my fourth computer to build, but I only do it every 5 years or so, so there are usually unexpected problems each time.

1 out of 5 eggsNO MORE GIGABYTE FOR ME!!!

Pros: Price...no thing more

Cons: If you see my previous comment i sent it to RMA. I tell them to install a new BIOS sense is giving a lot of error. When i receive thE package today, i found out that THEY DID NOT DO A THING. THEY SEND ME THE MOTHERBOARD THE SAME WAY. AND THEY DID NOT INCLUDE ME THE I/O PLATE, MANUAL AND CD. PLUS, GIVING THE SAME FREAKING ERROR. I AM NOT GOING TO SPEND NO MORE MONEY IN THIS COMPANY...I WILL RMA AGAIN BUT THIS TIME I WILL ASK GIGABYTE FOR MONEY OR A NEW ONE...DONT EVEN BOTHER BUYING THIS THING.

Worse motherboard i have ever seen

Other Thoughts: I mark the motherboard in a specific part to see if they really repair the thing. Yeah right!!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your GIGABYTE product.

2 out of 5 eggsMVP FAIL

Pros: Loved GIGABYTE GA-Z77M-D3H but sadly can't get it anymore. Figured MVP would be the next best thing.

Cons: WRONG. NO hardware overclock! Waste of time.
NOT GIGABYTE GA-Z77M-D3H.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your GIGABYTE product.

Your model GA-Z77M-D3H/MVP has limited overclocking options when compared to other models. For overclcoking, I suggest the model GA-Z77MX-D3H. This model also supports Lucid Virture MVP.

1 out of 5 eggsThat didn't last long

Pros: Was a good motherboard for about a week

Cons: Network stopped working after a week

Other Thoughts: I was happy until I lost network connectivity on it, what a shame to build a nice board and load it with worthless components that don't last a month. Unless you like swapping motherboards weekly I'd run away from this.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your GIGABYTE product.

For your NIC issue, please be sure your cable is firmly connected to the RJ45 port, and the Intel LAN chip driver is correctly installed, or trt replacing the cable. This is to rule out a cable issue.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC Board

Pros: I bought this to run as a HTPC dedicated system. It's been running 24/7 for about 8 months now with a decent amount of hardware on it and no issues.

Originally, I was only going to use it for movies but when my PS3 died, I decided to use it for mild gaming as well. I upgraded the on board graphics to discrete and it plays everything I've tried flawless.

I don't do a lot of gaming but it has handled games like the new Tomb Raider, Need for Speed (2012), and Crysis 2 with high to max settings no problem.

I also have a Plex server installed on this PC and it has been able to serve up video while encoding on the fly for 4g or wifi along with a moderate 2500k CPU.

One thing I really like is that you can remap the 3.5mm audio outputs on the back of the board using the included VIA software. I have them set to discrete 5.1. This lets me use 3 3.5mm to rca stereo cables to connect it to a receiver with multi channel inputs to have excellent surround sound. My audio system is aging quickly with no HDMI inputs on it. This feature has prolonged it's life greatly. The VIA software also gives you EQ, Bass management, room effects, etc. Many of these features are built in to AVR's. and since I'm only using mine as an amp now, it's nice to have these features in Windows instead.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Installed Hardware:
XFX Double D FX-785A-CDFC Radeon HD 7850 video card
Two 1TB HDD's, Two 3TB HDD's
Lite On BluRay player
i5-2500k CPU
8 GB DDR3 Corsair
Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W
nMEDIAPC HTPC 6000B
Two Xbox 360 Wireless controllers with Windows USB Receiver.
Logitech DiNovo Mini Keyboard
Dell 1610HD projector on a 107" screen
Logitech Harmony 650 with HP USB IR receiver

3 out of 5 eggsdecent board, died after 4 months

Pros: Worked fine with my i5-3570k for 4 months

Cons: not free

Other Thoughts: I have purchased many Gigabyte motherboards, and they all last very long, but this one only lasts 4 months. Just send this board back to repair because I was out of country for 5 months. I am now using a cheap H61 motherboard while I am waiting for the repair, and it works fine. Maybe I should' have bought the H61 in the first place. Somewhat disappointed, I just have bad luck...

5 out of 5 eggsSolid no frills Z77 board

Pros: Very solid performance, no issues, small micro ATX form factor, UEFI BIOS.
Received board with BIOS version F1, had no problems with it but easily upgraded to F7b with @BIOS utility, upgraded from older AMD board and Windows 8 pulled it off without a hitch on 1st boot, just had to reactivate.
With i3 Ivy Bridge produces very little heat making it easy to set up a near silent machine.
Have run for a few months now without one single issue.

Cons: I read the specs on this piece of equipment before purchasing so with that in mind I see no cons.
The board could use an ieee 1394 internal connector so I can plug in a Mini DV camera (easily solved with a USB iLink adapter), the I/O serial port has proprietary pin assignments an Asus/Gigabyte header is needed if using this feature.

Other Thoughts: Nice motherboard for standard home/office PC application, will even work for high performance gaming with the right video card, CPU and RAM.
