5 out of 5 eggsexcellent

Pros: I ordered this mobo just to try it and see how is it and I m really surprised coz I had problems with the Asus mobo similar like this and this has more options and more is more solid at least we have with this one a header for the front usb 3.0 and 8 pins for the cpu not 4 pins like in the Asus one..... Anyway for everything is great especially for the overclocking but what make me laugh is the bios it's an antique but does not bother we can find everything inside so yes I recommend it if u wanna build a cheap but performant computer I m using it with a fx 6300 and vga gtx 970 and 16 g of ram beside a ssd 240g and hdd 3 TB and I have no problem with games

Cons: Nothing

4 out of 5 eggsOver two years and still strong!

Pros: The GA-78LMT-USB3 was my first board for a budget build. Years later, it still holds up well at most stuff I throw at it.
- Processor overclocks fine with socket AM3. It is a 760G chipset, so don't be dumb and full throttle the poor board, but you can crank it a few cycles and even give it a little overvolt and it holds up. Haven't tested AM3+ on it yet.
- Handles GPUs and other expansion cards fine. Built-in GPU runs fine if you're not gaming.
- Good options for configuration, gives you decent control over your peripherals. Comparable with other boards.
- USB 3.0 is convenient and works well.
- Zero problems running Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora or CentOS. Plays well with Windows and the Debian/Fedora branches and drivers problems are usually non-existant. 10 even recognizes board and ALL HARDWARE out of the box, leaving no need to install drivers!
- All functions still up and running without problem, with over 2 years as my daily driver! No blown caps or anything!
-

Cons: - Had to flash the board to update it due to some power glitches/clock speed drops. Update solved the problem and worked fine ever since.
- PCIe x1 placement, you will not be able to use the port if you have a 2-slot width card hooked up to the x16.
- CPU power socket is nice, featuring the ability to use a 4-prong or 8-prong cord. It's placement, up next to the CPU, is not. You'll need a PSU with long cables.
- Audio is spotty out of board directly, some hum. Would recommend audio card.

Other Thoughts: Not cons, but things to note.
- 760G chipset. Overclocking a high end FX chip is either a straight no, or a bottleneck. If you want highest end AMD, go with a 990-type board.
- Hang onto the manual, you'll need the pinout for the case panel hookups, not marked.
- Only two USB 2.0 headers, plan your front panel devices properly.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb little mobo

Pros: 125W, 8-Pin ATX power, 4+1 phases with heatsink!! Great overclocker for sub 125w CPUs like my FX-4300, cranked it up to 4.7GHz witout breaking a sweat. Bios has VERY NICE OC OPTIONS.
Has IDE, ideal for upgrading older Machines to new core components.
4 DIMMs, has ample room for upgrades.
WELL. PLACED. SATAs. And then, more well placed SATAs.
On-board graphics with HDMI, perfect for troubleshooting.

Cons: Why do so many motherboards, like this one, have the PCI-Ex1 port right below the PCI-Ex16 ???? It is blocked by the graphics card!!!! I WANT WIFIIIII!!!!

Other Thoughts: Nice funky blue SATA cables included, yo.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid board, nice color scheme, fits in micro-Atx case great

Pros: The pros are in the title mostly.
This board is extremely solid with a good bios and lots of connectivity all around.
The color scheme is excellent and matches most anything you would put in a computer.

Cons: On bootup, theres a screen that pops up for a second and displays memory adresses and memory allocation. Not a major problem at all and doesn't seem to affect performance on bootup. Just a note.

Other Thoughts: Overall, solid board good price and fits in a DIYPC micro-atx tower.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't beleive the previuos poster

Pros: I got this motherboard to replace my 2 year old dead MSI 970A-G43. The MSI board cost twice as much but was flimsy and died after 2 years. This Gigabyte board weighs twice as much and is built solid. I am running a 6 core at 4100 on air, something I could never do with the old MSI and it is running cooler. Too bad I didn't get 2 of them, I have another computer with a dead MSI board in it. Not the latest and greatest but I learned a lot of times it is better to have an old reliable.

Cons: One case fan header but they make cables cheap enough to take care of that problem. And I really prefer not to be running all thsat load through the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: After running this board for almost three weeks I am still impressed with it for the price. I am running 9 hard drives and a DVD with this motherboard using 2 SYBA SI-PEX40094 add on SATA cards. It is in a Cooler master 932 HAF case. This runs 24\7, the newest hard drive that I received on the 17th of Feb has over 350hrs on it already. As I stated before I have a 3600 6 core processor running at over 4100 on air with no problem. It will run higher but the onboard video starts having problems because of the overclock. A dedicated video card would solve the problem but then I loose one of the PCIE sata cards but I have a few older PCI sata cards that would work with the DVD and the oldest sata hard drives. I am still playing around with my optimal conflagration. And I still have IDE port which I could connect my 2 500GB IDE drives to. They are on sale again and I am buying another one to replace another dead MSI board that the CPU & memory are still good. It is a shame because 15-25 years ago MSI was a better board but not anymore by my experience. 7 of the hard droves are in an iStarUSA BPN-DE340SS and an iStarUSA BPU-230SATA-BPL hot swap units.

This is almost as fun as in the old days when we would take a 10 mb MFM drive and put it on a RRL controller and then double space it ending up with around 24-25 mb of drive capacity once the overhead was figured in.. Sure it was slow but it saved $500-600. in hard drive costs.
