1 out of 5 eggsSuch a Darn Shame

Pros: Lots of PCI-E slos, great OC Controls.

Cons: Head aches from step one. I changed out a Sabertooth Z77 for this, and everything worked fine with the Sabertooth. Now, my rig crashes all the time, then goes into a persistent boot, but will never post. I can clear CMOS, no boot. Remove all the peripherals, no boot, change out the RAM, no boot. Re-seat the CPU, no Boot. Remove the GPUs, no boot. Its the weirdest thing, If i let it sit for a few hours, it will work again. The CPU temps top out at 40, and I'm not pushing the GPUs. This Mobo is s HUGE let down. It was my dream board. I wouldn't have been so mad, but Gigabyte tech support is not responding, and I spent a nice amount of money on this useless Mobo. Sticking with Asus in the Future.

Other Thoughts: If it aint broke (Sabertooth Z77) dont fix it(UP7)

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

The most common cause of your described probelm is damage to the LGA socket. Please carefully remove your Intel processor, and inspect the socket for any bent/damaged pins.

3 out of 5 eggsCould be better

Pros: 2x 16x PCI-E slots
great OC capability (Keep my 3570K @ 4.2ghz for long life.)
nice bios inferface

Cons: my 2nd board needing RMA

Other Thoughts: 1st board was great till I connected the PLX supplemental power connector. Then I could only use the native 16x slots. The MB was fantastic till then. Newegg was great @ swapping the 1st unit out. But the new unit's 16x slot didn't work 1st time out. The SLI slots work most of the time now but I have had an occasion to require at least 5 reboots to see video. Both of my GTX670 4g FTW+ EVGA cards work singly in my old system just fine. I use it when I don't have this one up. Thank goodness! And I have a 26 & 27" monitors and it's the same on both of them whether I use the HDMI or DVD-D connectors so I know it's the MB I'm sorry to say. I know this is a fantastic product and I drew the short straw to start with. I'm sure Gigabyte will stand behind their product.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing MoBo

Pros: This board is perfect combo with i7 3770K Ivy Bridge CPU. It fit great in a Corsair 600T case and the Corsair H100i water cooler installed easily. Color scheme is great too and looks awesome.

Cons: None really at this time, but it should be noted that this board is large and as a result does not allow you to setup push / pull with H100i in the 600T case.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate: Top of the line board!

Pros: Still one of the best boards out there that I can see!

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: I had a typo here last time, I meant to say they changed out the USB 2.0's for all USB 3.0's which nice.

5 out of 5 eggsTop of the line board!

Pros: Finally decided to go all out on my computer build! I recently purchased the Z77X-UP7, I liked the color scheme of Black and orange however this one isn't meant to be OC as I know gigabyte's older model had a black and orange made just for overclocking. The board itself is incredible 4 way sli/cfx, mSata, included bluetooth and wifi, and anything else you can ask for.

Cons: Board is somewhat pricey but you get what you pay for, and this board is well worth it. Not only that this top end board is cheaper then other competitor's flagship models.

Other Thoughts: This board can do almost anything you throw at it. They got ride of all the USB 3.0's and opted for all USB 3.0. You never know when you will need another 3.0 Port.

3 out of 5 eggsincomplete

Pros: Rated ability to do well against Asus and ASRock. I passed up on Maximus V Extreme and the Extreme 11 for this board. I am very disappointed with it.

Cons: I regularly crash these days. First thought it was my memory, tested it and was fine, tried new mem. kept crashing. I now believe it's the bios - but I have the most current, although it is not easy. Not a fan of Gigabyte online support website... very difficult to use imo. Gigabyte simply told me it was my ram, when I searched around I found no answer for this as this board isn't popular.

Another problem I'm encountering is that the included GC-WB300D WiFi/Bluetooth card has problems (no Bluetooth) with Windows 8- even after downloading and installing the very latest drivers (as of early December, 2012) from the Gigabyte web site. Gigabyte Customer Support was unable to help with this problem.

I'm going back to ASUS or AsRock.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte doesn't have solutions to their products problems and will pass it off to you as your mistake. For that alone I will never buy another product from them

1 out of 5 eggsNeeds more development.

Pros: Offers 4way GPU, futureproof, good layout. usb 3.0, bluetooth

Cons: The uefi bios is supposed to be the heart of it. It has throttle my 3770K when over clocked to 4.5ghz back to 42 and 41 multi. I think it's cause the heat sinks are getting very hot. Drivers for the USB headers would not stick so I reverted back. When I did, I would get random shutoffs & reboots. It may been cause I switched ram, but it shouldn't have an effect. It's hard to download drivers for this board. I looked everywhere for the OC touch driver. I ended up having to register for a forum to find download link. I tried F5N bios and it seems to have corrected the restarts, but now i can't get my memory stable at 2133. Computer just starts up and shuts off. Gigabyte needs to improve quickly for a $400 board

Other Thoughts: Needs a lot of work. Seems powerful, but nothing works stable enough for me to see.

2 out of 5 eggssomethings not right

Pros: looks awesome has tons of great features.

Cons: the black pci slot (slot for single card builds) is causing my video cards to make a somewhat loud electrical buzzing sound. i have tried 2 7970 cards and both are effected the same way ( even when they are under very little load) i am worried that by running it i am destroying both my video card and the rest of the motherboard. i can not locate any posts with this issue on this motherboard and am wondering if i got a lemon

Other Thoughts: not sure what cores of action to take...really hate the idea of ripping my cpu out but i paid WAY WAY to much for this FLAG SHIP motherboard to have it buzzing in my ear 24/7

at this point i am not happy with this product..especially for 400$

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

You may be experiencing EMI interference between your graphics cards, power supply, and motherboard. This will not effect the usage your products, nor cause damage. You may try changing to a better quality power supply or changing the power cables from your power supply if they are modular.
